I've been reading self help books lately because my self needs help. Unfortunately, much of my experience in the genre has been glowing testimonials about how transformative it is to develop/have/find whatever the book is about, cheerleading, and vague suggestions like "have more faith in yourself" and "listen to your inner you".
This book is only a hundred pages, talks about harmful adapting tactics, why we choose them, how to stop, and a few helpful suggestions--even if I can't follow all of them.
