Moyoko Anno (安野 モヨコ) is a Japanese manga artist and a fashion writer, with numerous books published in both categories. Her manga and books have attained considerable popularity among young women in Japan. Though she primarily writes manga of the josei demographic, her most popular series, Sugar Sugar Rune, (serialized in Nakayoshi) is targeted at primary school-aged girls. In a recent Oricon poll, she was voted the number eight most popular manga artist among females and thirteen in the general category. Her manga Happy Mania was made into a television series in 1998, followed by Hataraki Man in October 2007. Sakuran was made into a movie in 2006.
In the movie Japan Sinks, she has a cameo role alongside her husband; their characters were also married. The movie was directed by Shinji Higuchi, who, like her husband Hideaki Anno, is a co-founder of Gainax.

Anno won the 29th Kodansha Manga Award for children's manga in 2005 for Sugar Sugar Rune.

Ce tome est l'un des meilleurs de la saga! Nous en apprenons plus sur les serviteurs magiques, surtout Poivre mais aussi sur Cannelle et Chocola. Quel plaisir de voir une scène de combat aussi dynamique! J'ai vraiment aimé ce tome riche en rebondissements! D'ailleurs Vanilla est adorable durant tout le volume 7, une petit perle! Ce fut une superbe relecture!

C’est bientôt la fin et ça se sent. J’ai aimé en découvrir davantage sur les personnages, mais j’ai aussi eu l’impression que c’était un peu trop rapide et flou tout de même.

On passe tjs d'un point de l'histoire à l'autre sans trop de transition ou de logique. La façon dont duke raconte son histoire est convolutée et personne en a tellement rien à faire de sa véritable identité que ça en est ridicule.

😱 Sono rimasta sconvolta nello scoprire che il famiglio di Chocola in realtà sia suo zio e che lei sia la figlia del gran duca dell’oscurità. 🤯 L’idea che Chocola e Pierre possano essere fratelli tormenta anche me.💞 Mi ha sorpresa il gesto di Woo che pur di difendere Chocola, affronta Pierre rischiando di trasformare il suo cuore in nero, fino all’intervento provvidenziale di Vanilla.
La scena che più mi ha colpita è stata però la preoccupazione di Pierre per Chocola: quando la vede in pericolo corre da lei senza esitazione.
💔 E il suo sacrificio finale… Pierre pronto a rischiare di non svegliarsi mai più pur di salvarla. La determinazione di Chocola nel volerlo salvare a sua volta mi ha lasciata senza parole. Chocola e Pierre mi hanno letteralmente straziata l’anima.
Un volume intenso, straziante, dolce pieno di emozioni allo stato puro: rivelazioni, sacrifici e un amore che sfida l’oscurità con quel velo di mistero che mi tiene incollata alle pagine e con la voglia irrefrenabile di scoprire cosa accadrà dopo.

Everything happens quite fast in this second-to-last volume.

While reading, I really felt that the story was speeding up to reach its conclusion… It’s a shame, because the world of these little witches is so rich and full of potential.

The theater storyline doesn’t last long, and the use of magic is so frequent that you start to wonder how humans never notice anything… as if their world had been pushed into the background.

Vanilla, meanwhile, is completely sidelined. The story could easily unfold without her, and we wouldn’t even notice her absence. It’s especially disappointing since her whole “dark side” arc seems to have been forgotten, as if it never existed.

Chocola’s obsession with Pierre also becomes tiring. It’s her only motivation, which is a common flaw in shoujo manga that I personally don’t enjoy.

It’s still an enjoyable read overall, but a rather disappointing one.

Je m'y attendais tellement pas !! Puis les ogres attaquent en masse, et je me rends compte une énième fois, que quand un anime/manga cherche à trop complexifier un élément, il n'y arrive pas. Je suis perdue, je comprends plus, je ne me souviens plus de tel détail de tel tome.. Tant pis.. Je continue de lire et je verrais bien. En tout cas, tout ça prouve qu'on s'approche du dénouement et de la fin !!

Tout est bien qui finit bien, la fin est parfaite, cette série va vraiment me manquer. J'ai quand même réussi à finir le 7 et lire tout le 8 en une seule journée ! C'est ainsi mon 11e livre lu du mois de septembre 😳🤯🥳 Plus de 2 000 pages, yaaayyy !!

Ideally I would have given this 4 stars if it wasn't so centred around incest... Because there are good things:
- great plot surrounding corruption in politics
- more backstories (Poive, my man)
- the power of found family + friendship
- I liked how Le Petit Chaperon Rouge was used to fit in the narrative

I finally caved and have given up on getting this volume, just so I can finally read it. This was a little bit confusing at times (like when did Vanilla x Woo happen? What? That's so sudden!) but over all it had some very interesting backstory. Poivre is pretty cool and I'm excited to read how the story wraps up.

mi ha tenuto col fiato sospeso..e parte subito con rilevazioni shock! ma direi che tutto il volume è così! è incalzante...è pieno di amore e amicizia..e qdo Pierre sviene (o è morto?) perchè lei le prende il cuore...stavo per piangere sul treno!!! e spero vivamente che non sia suo fratello! altrimenti piango sul serio..
mi scuso per questa recensione orribile..ma..è difficile catalogare tutto in questo momento..perchè questo manga ti trasmette mille emozioni...e dopo averlo finito ho sempre bisogno di tempo per far ordine delle idee..qdo l'avrò fatto..scriverò un serio commento..o forse anche no...chi lo sa!
In ogni caso..se vi piacciono le storie di streghe e magia..ma fatte bene..ve lo consiglio caldamente.

Oh boy... leave it to Japan to do the sibling love story -_- Though as I've been thinking about it, my theory is maybe Chocolat really isn't the daughter of Glace and Cinnamon just said that as part of her and Candy's plan to unite the ogres and witches again. Either that or somehow Pierre won't really be his descendant, even though Pierre looks just like him. That, or, because it's Japan, Pierre and Chocolat really will be siblings and they won't care because.. well, it's Japan (I have nothing against Japan. Incest is just apparently one of the things they do in their literature a lot.) Who knows...

One more volume left to wrap it all up! I can't wait to see how it all ends!

This volume was a great addition to the series and has a lot of great plot and character developments. I can't wait to see what happens next and how the series ends!

On sent qu'on s'approche de la phase finale, la saga prend un ton beaucoup plus sérieux avec des révélations, des retournements de situation, des scènes marquantes. D'ailleurs, c'est à partir de ce tome véritablement que le manga et l'anime prennent des chemins totalement différents. J'ai hâte de redécouvrir ce que nous réserve la fin de l'histoire.
