About the author

Linda Ford grew up devouring books and making up stories in her head—often late at night when she couldn't sleep. But she hadn't planned to write. Instead, she dreamed of running an orphanage. In a way, that dream came true. She married, had four homemade children, adopted ten and lived (at times, endured) the dream.

Writing first took her to non-fiction human-interest articles for newspapers and eventually a non-fiction book about tuberculosis set in the 1930s and 1940s (Touched By The White Plague). But romance had always been her first love and she turned to writing love stories. She is multi-published in the CBA market.

She lives on a small ranch in Alberta, Canada, where she can see the mountains every day. She and her husband continue to enjoy their children and grandchildren.

This was another great story of the Shannon family and their ranch. Although Wally is not related by blood, he is considered a brother by the Shannon men. When he decides to send for a mail order bride after seeing how happy the others are, he is surprised when his bride arrives with not one child like she said, but three. Being an orphan himself, he is quick to offer a home and protection to all of them. As they grow together and begin to feel love for each other, a secret from the past threatens to destroy all they have built. Wally has to make a decision to forgive, leave the past behind, and move forward into the life they both want. This was a powerful story of overcoming and forgetting what was behind and moving forward into what God has planned.

Long wait but finally . . .

Yay! All the wives are pregnant including Wally’s wife. I swear for 200 pages I am saying to myself, “please, just tell him the truth!” I love all the new children in this book. I don’t know how some people can be so cruel and selfish to hungry children. This book’s theme is orphans. Wally, an orphan, is brought into the Shannon family at the age of sixteen. He finally has a family who loves and cares for him. All he wants is a real family and someone to love. Thank goodness he has a big heart and lots of love. He not only gets a wife and son but also two stowaway orphans that hid in the luggage car on the train. He would never turn his back on an orphan or any child in need. Lovely story.

This is a sweet and heartwarming story and includes faith, redemption, secrets, and love. This is Wally and Madeline's story, and the character development is excellent. Wally sends for a MOB and Madeline responds and comes west to become his wife. Madeline tells Wally that she is a widow with a son but on the way she encounters two orphans and takes them with her. Wally accepts and learns to love all three children . But Madeline has a secret and what will happen when Wally finds out what it is? Will they be able to overcome the deception and find a HEA? Be sure and read this wonderful story to find out; I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.

This is a sweet mail order bride tale about Wally, the long time ranch hand of the Shannon family. Being an orphan and finally finding a home on the Shannon family ranch. Now years have past and the Shannon boys are all married and he wants that love and family they all have. Maddie and her young son are on their way when the conductor of the train finds two children hiding and they claim to belong to Maddie. Oh what a mixed up story. It is filled with adventure and excitement . You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.

For one mother sorrow had taken root. She traveled west felling hopeless, Only to find so much joy. What she had lost or never really had she finds a family. She is scared that something will go wrong or that people will find her secret.
He hopes to find a family of his own. So he decided to follow in the footsteps of other's. He feels he has found the one. Through his struggle with understand his new bride he begins to understand her and even love her. Though he finds out her secret nothing changed. And the rest they say is history of family.

Wally lived on the Shannon Ranch just as a member of the Shannon family, all the boys thought of him as a brother. He had his own cabin and was eagerly awaiting his mail order bride. She came with her son, but two other children were with her and Wally accepted them too. Wally always wanted a family. I can not write how much i enjoyed this book because of spoilers, this book is such a Sweet Story because of Wally, such a Good, God fearing man.

Mail Order a bride Secret

This was another great story. Maddie had Jonathon and was to be a mail order bride of Wally. Along on the train tide, the conductor brought her two children, a boy and girl. They were he neighbors niece and nephew, who was not cared for at all. She accepted then and told them they would stay together. More of an adventure, all fitting in as a new family, enjoy.

She had so many complications that arrived with her but he took all in stride. He wanted a wife and family...he was getting it all at one time,even if it meant adding the orphans. After all, he was one. Grab a copy and find out all the drama....

I enjoyed reading this book..Maddie signed up to be a Mail Order Bride. When she found out she was pregnant … through no fault of herself… During her train ride she acquired 2 orphans… Maddie was worried that the man she was to marry won’t be happy…

Great story of second chance love

Though it is a beautiful story of God’s love and forgiveness, please be aware the novel mentions rape, pain, and the repercussions. However, it is handled with gentleness and understanding. It also raises the question of orphans and feeling of abandonment and how our past experiences dictate our actions and feelings of the now.

Another very nice book to read. It is written by Linda Ford and she has written it very well. A mother looking for a better life for her and her son. Then adding two run away orphan children, and adding one husband what do you get a family. Yet there are things that need to said to each other. A very enjoyable read.

This was a story of love, forgiveness, and peace. Both having lived tough times in their lives Maddie and Wally, had to learn to grow together and trust each other. Through God's help, they were able to cross all the bridges in the early days of marriage. Great story.

I enjoyed the book! Madeline has a sad past which she does not share with Wally until it almost too late. The children add to the story.. This book is part of a series but can be read standalone. I highly recommend reading this book!

I really enjoyed all of the books in this series. I'm not sure how to explain it, but there's more, I guess it's depth, to the characters.
