By far the best book I've read on Tai Chi yet. Unlike most books is written in a fluid, conversational style that reads very well. Highly recommended.

Found this gem going through some old college stuff out of boredom and realized I'd stolen it from my university's library (I'm sorry. I had been practicing qi gong (Eight Brocades, 5 elements, Wu Xing 5 Animals) for back tightness and sleep. It's been going alright but certainly improved in my second pass through. Currently at a solid 3.5, will update based on improvement later.

Awesome book explaining concepts of Yin/Yang, and purpose of Taiji practice....Very informative and written by my old next door neighbor who was Taiji Master in China for 3 years! He studied with very well known Grandmaster Feng Zhiquiang in China as a boy, and the foreword to the book is written by him! Great book explaining evidence based benefits of Taiji and all aspects of its practice to get most benefits....Can get it at www.chentaiji.com or google center for Taiji studies and Yang Yang.

This which was going to be my textbook for the Tai Chi class that I had to drop when we had the earthquake. It's interesting (and giving me feeling fine points for reading some nonfiction for a change) but is mostly convincing me that Tai Chi is enough like yoga that I probably don't have to take it up. My yoga practice is making me perfectly happy.

Rarely does East meet West with one foot so deeply planted in each, and yet the spirit is lifted to a powerful and healing dance within this book. Probably not the best choice for someone completely lacking in familiarity with Taoism and Chinese philosophy, but an essential guide to the Taiji student. I will return to this book often, as a single reading has merely opened my eyes.
