El viaje es una constante en las novelas de Julio Verne. Viajar, desde su perspectiva, es descubrir, es un camino al cambio. Sus personajes están siempre en la búsqueda de un enigma, son seres intrépidos y valientes que van más allá de los límites impuestos por su cotidianeidad, que especulan sobre las posibilidades que se adivinan en el horizonte. Verne vivió su presente imaginando el futuro; ideando destinos, máquinas y artefactos propios no solamente de un escritor de ciencia ficción, sino también de un visionario, de un precursor del conocimiento científico.
El imaginario de Verne en gran parte se nutrió de los relatos de los viajes de la historia y de sus heroicos aventureros. En esta obra narra a detalle las andanzas de estos hombres cuyas empresas lo inspiraron para emprender sus propias cruzadas narrativas. Desde Herodoto, pasando por Marco Polo, Cristóbal Colón, hasta el primer viaje alrededor del mundo y las expediciones polares, todos estos personajes y sucesos, y otros más, pasan por la pluma del escritor italiano, adquiriendo un cariz de leyenda solamente posible a través de la literatura.

October 5, 2021I love Jules Verne, but this seems to be just a collection of events from different Adventures. The events are all just told like facts (whih they maybe are) but are not set into a good storytelling. It seems like it is just retold facts without storys.
