Alpha Male Incorporated #1

Under Your Protection

Rate this book
The Golden Rule in being a Bodyguard 101: Never get involved with a client no matter how unbelievably sexy she might be.

Personal bodyguard Jax Irizarry retired from the business ten years ago and opened up his own company called Alpha Male Incorporated. He was content no longer being thrown into the danger zone and got enough pleasure from working behind a desk. So, why did this best friend Frank Chantel want to hire him to protect his goddaughter/singer Sahara 'Coco' Chantel?

Sahara Chantel reluctantly agreed to a bodyguard to please her uncle. She was more focused on getting her singing career off the ground not an overzealous fan. Anyway, it wasn’t like she was going to be attracted to her bodyguard because weren’t most of them older men with gray hair?

Sahara's preconceived notions about bodyguards were shot to hell when she walked inside her den and spotted the tall, blond and sexy Jax Irizarry waiting for her.

Sahara is used to getting her way when it comes to her singing career. Jax is used to getting his way when it comes to bodyguarding. The two may have different ideas when it comes to Sahara’s safety, but they have the same idea when it comes to the attraction they feel for each other.

The storyline is very interesting and held my attention, but I got lost a couple of times in the overall timeline of the story. Weeks or months can pass when it seemed like just days. The added paranormal element benefits by adding more spice to the story, but it is not fully explored. The author supports the story through important details though they often felt random in placement. Jax is in a true life or death situation when it comes to claiming his mate, but it's also important to understand that Sahara has a choice. The characters themselves are well developed and easy to picture. Relating to Sahara's famous and hardworking lifestyle is easy to relate to through the author's vivid writing. Jax’s character is very Alpha male and as such could be a little off-putting in the way he expects Sahara to obey his commands. Sahara resists obeying him, but eventually gives in and the behavior continues. There are a couple of surprises at the end with a little to be continued to carry on in the next story. The suspense is enough without leaving the ending unsatisfying.

This is the first in a series of stories about the men of Alpha Male Incorporated. The secondary characters definitely have a story that needs to be told and the next in this series is sure to give their time in the 'spotlight' while tying up some loose ends from this one. Anyone who enjoys an erotic romance with a bit of the paranormal and a strong Alpha male lead should read this book.

Let me beginning by saying I wanted to SLAP the SHIT out of
Sahara "Coco" Chantel, omg she annoyed me so much. Hello crazy stalker trying to kill you, I think you should listen to your bodyguard!!! Ok rant over, beside that the book was good. I really like Jax he was cute and willing to do anything to keep The Coco Princess happy. Would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute light read!!!

Sahara has always been in control when it comes to her singing career. Her bodyguard, Jax, has a job to do and that doesn't include letting Sahara take unnecessary risks. The two may have different ideas when it comes to Sahara’s safety, but they both agree when it comes to the attraction they feel for each other.

Ms. Rochelle has penned a terrific novella that is very interesting with an attention grabbing premise. The reader should be advised, however, to pay close attention to the timeline in the story. Weeks or months can pass when it seemed like just days. The paranormal element of the story is nice and adds some spice and tension to the story. It could have been more fully explored but maybe Ms. Rochelle plans to continue Jax and Sahara's story in the next book. The author supports the story through important details, though they sometimes felt random in placement.

Jax is in a true life or death situation when it comes to claiming his mate, but it's also important to understand that Sahara has a choice. Too often in shifter/mate stories there is no choice so this was a nice change that I enjoyed.

The characters themselves are well developed and easy to picture. Readers should have no problem connecting to Sahara's fame and hardworking lifestyle thanks to the author's vivid writing. Jax’s character is very Alpha male and as such could be a little off-putting in the way he expects Sahara to obey his commands. Ms. Rochelle painted Sahara to be a strong self-reliant woman and who resists obeying him in the beginning. There are a couple of surprises at the end with a "to be continued" type ending that should carry over nicely into the next story. There is plenty of suspense and action in this short to keep the reader entertained to the end.

This is the first in a series of stories about the men of Alpha Male Incorporated. The secondary characters definitely have stories that need to be told and the next in this series is sure to give them their time in the 'spotlight' while tying up some loose ends from this one. Anyone who enjoys an erotic romance with a bit of the paranormal and a strong Alpha male lead should read this book.
