Laid-back Loco Remeere lets Cecil, the Alpha's mate, talk him into helping with a harebrained scheme, but this time Cecil's adventure leads him right to his own mate. Tangee Highland works two jobs to survive, and dating is just a far-off fantasy. Rushing in late as usual for his job at a tattoo parlor, he stops dead at the sight of a gorgeous silver-haired man who attracts him like no other. Tangee quickly indulges his desire for silver-haired Loco's touch, but mating for life is a bit extreme for a first date. He denies Loco, insisting the relationship move slowly. Everything changes when Tangee's mother is in an auto accident and the responsibility of his five-year-old sister now lies with him. Will Loco still want him with a kid sister on his hip? Or has Tangee already voided the claiming? Each book in Lynn Hagen's Brac Pack collection features a different romantic couple. Each title stands alone and can be read in any order. However, we recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
This is not the worst story in this series but I felt no connection to either MC at all and I have to say that I was just bored. Everything is just glossed over and rushed, leaving me with the feeling that I really don't know much about either MC or even see the connection they have with each other other than the fact that they are 'mates'. Everything is just superficial and some of the lines are so cheesy that it was painful to read. I have to agree with everyone else that the editing in this story is horrible as well. One positive thing that I can say about this is that Tangee is very mature and responsible for being young and in no way resembles some of the other pathetically childish mates.
This was book 9 in the "Brac Pack" series. It was a short quick read like the rest of the books in this series. Loco met his mate while taking the mates to get tattoos in this city, he had to go back the next day because he couldn't leave the mates unprotected. Tangee Highland is working two jobs to help his mother take care of his little sister Malonee. Tangee is always being bullied when he goes to get lunch for his boss Mark some guys start picking on him and one of them punch him in the eye. When Loco tells him what he is he gets scared turns out he also has fangs he is part wolf and his mother never told him who his father was until she meets Loco turns out his father was Sky a member of the Zeus pack who died his family wanted his mother to move with them but she refused. When the guys who hit him come into the store that he works at and try to rape him he realize that its time for him to move after him and Loco have been dating for a month. This was a cute book the Alpha really liked his little sister Malonee and him and the wariors started spoiling her when she spent the first weekend with them. Tangee got to meet his uncle and we got in update on Jasper and Zeus when he and Loco went for a visit. When his mother and little sister were in a car accident all the warriors and mates came to help. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Reviewing three in row again, that means book 7-9.
Things are being shaken up a little, by way of having some mates who are not complete, er, pussies. (Sorry, but that’s way too fitting a word to not use it.) Then there’s the somewhat annoying mooning over a little girl by the alpha, so I guess she’ll stay around and we shall have more jokes about that and less about the childish mates. Not complaining, even though this, too, is way-over-the-top silly.
I am kinda just breezing through most of the sex, at least after things have been established. It’s just not interesting enough.
I guess this split into another series, because . Man, I am glad this series appears to only have twosomes. In my personal cost/gain assessment I don’t think I would try to read a threesome by this author.
Still, it’s gotten a little better. Still choppy and weird and amateurish and of course I got used to a lot, but character motivations seem to make a grain more sense. Just a grain, though. Nothing could beat volume one in terms of sheer stupid anyway.
2012 Re-read Project:
I went and did it. I re-read all the connected series by Lynn Hagen, this time in order of publication date, as recommended, which sadly does not ensure actual chronologicality. That’s twenty-nine books of moderate length, spanning three series (with more to spin off).
I’ll put my thoughts in spoiler tags since I plan to paste this into the end of each review covered here. There are no actual spoilers, so feel free to read this for a general idea of the series.
I have to say that Lynn Hagen is one my favorite authors of all time!! When I first bought my Nook, I saw her books advertised, but always put off reading them, then I purchased Maverick's Mate and I've been hooked ever since!! I have now read every single book Lynn has written and eagerly await and devour any thing that she writes!! I have even repurchased ALL of her books when I moved from the Nook to the Kindle!! Thank you Lynn for providing me with so many hours of enjoyment and pleasure!! YOU ROCK!!!
Genre: Alternative (M/M) Paranormal, Omegaverse, Insta-Love
I absolutely adored "Brac Pack 9 - Loco’s Love" by Lynn Hagen. This M/M Omegaverse story is a splendid addition to the Brac Pack series, and it thoroughly captivated me from beginning to end. The blend of paranormal elements with the deep, insta-love connection between the characters creates an intoxicating mix that’s hard to resist.
The story introduces Tangee Highland, a hardworking individual juggling two jobs, who meets the enigmatic and irresistibly attractive silver-haired Loco Remeere. Their instant attraction is palpable, setting the stage for a classic insta-love tale that fits perfectly within the Omegaverse genre. This aspect of the genre is well-explored through their dynamic, with Tangee initially hesitant to embrace the full depth of their bond, wanting to take things slowly despite the powerful draw he feels toward Loco.
One of my absolute favorite parts is when all the big, bad wolves meet Tangee’s baby sister, Melonie. Seeing these fearsome werewolves transform into gentle, protective figures around a five-year-old is heartwarming and adds a delightful layer of softness to the story. Maverick, the Alpha, stands out as the most attached to Melonie, hinting at his deep-seated desire for a family. Although they are in M/M relationships, I’m thrilled at the prospect of the series potentially evolving into an MPREG storyline. The idea of men becoming pregnant in this world is beyond exciting, and it promises even more intimate and profound connections between the characters.
The dancing scene with Melonie is another highlight. Watching the usually formidable wolves turn into playful, doting figures around her is both adorable and touching. This scene beautifully showcases their multifaceted personalities and adds a layer of emotional depth to the story. It’s moments like these that reinforce why this book stands out in the paranormal genre – it combines intense romance with heartwarming family dynamics in a way that feels genuine and engaging.
Moreover, the subplot involving Tangee’s mother’s accident and the subsequent responsibility Tangee has to take on for his sister adds a compelling twist to the narrative. This turn of events tests the strength of Tangee and Loco’s budding relationship, adding stakes and depth to their love story. The anticipation of how Loco will react to Tangee’s new responsibilities keeps the reader invested and eager to see how their relationship will evolve.
Overall, "Brac Pack 9 - Loco’s Love" is a fantastic read that perfectly encapsulates the essence of the M/M Omegaverse genre. The instant connection between Tangee and Loco, combined with the tender moments involving Melonie, makes for a richly layered and emotionally satisfying story. I can’t wait to see what happens next, especially with the hints that something significant might happen with Tangee’s mother, potentially leaving Melonie in the care of the Brac Pack. This series continues to deliver, and I’m eagerly looking forward to the next installment!

This is the summary off the back of the book. Or has Tangee already voided the claiming?
This is what I think of the book. This little story was beautiful because there was a real courtship and it made you feel part of the process. Although Tangee was a bully magnet so there was always a problem to be solved it was the introduction of his sister that made me smile the most and gave me some real laugh out loud moments. This little book proved that not only can Lynn Hagen write hot books but can also write with real depth too.
As if the crap content isn't bad enough...does the author or her publisher even PROOFREAD this crap...or do they avoid reading it from start to finish for fear of a brain aneurysm? Because in the VERY first (short as hell) paragraph there's a glaring error. See if you can spot it.
"Tangee ran around his apartment, trying to get ready. He hopped on one foot, struggling to get his shoe on, with a piece of toast handing from his mouth."
Had they BOTHERED to proofread they would have caught that one RIGHT at the start while their minds were still fresh and non-eroded from Miss Hagen's "writing"...
PS - What a fitting name. Loco is Spanish for "mad". You probably are mad if you seriously are an adult and enjoy this... Yeah, and the horrible Lucius Malfoy on the cover was a major turnoff. Terrible cover art as per Siren's usual!
5th reading 7-1-19 Ugh. I forgot that I didn't care for this one as much.
4th Reading 1-4-16 Same comments as before. Errors (like having Melonee in two different places at the same time) and the whole pixie thing ;) I also HATED how Loco scolded Tangee while Tangee was pissed at his mom. He had every right to yell and vent.
3rd reading 1-3-15 Picked up on some things this time. Like calling Melonee "pixie" and her car seat having fairies on it.
2nd read June 2014 Caught more errors this time around.
This is the story of a mate who really struggles with the bond and his new situation - despite the fact that he badly needs help. Or maybe because of it? Tangee is very proud and it takes a critical situation for him to come around. Loco shows such patience - not that he is given a choice, but still. This was a nice addition to the series.
not to sure what to say about this but i do hope the constant repeats would stop. like their super hearing (almost always said the same way) or how they live soooo long and became wealthy. and why oh why for people 100+ yr and long lived they fine such young mates. am still not a fan of straight to bed when mate is found but i did like how tangee made loco wait to be mated

Having sex, yes but when it comes to mating, wait a minute. Tangee felt responsible for his mother and his sister so mating with Loco isn't his main priority. Loco being patient, spend 1 month to get to know Tangee better and finally Tangee's ready to mate with him and at the same time still taking care of his mom and sister.
Loco and Tangee’s story is a refreshingly different addition to this series, packed full of emotions and heartfelt story lines that will have the reader invested in these character lives long after the story ends.
Tangee is a man who has never fit in anywhere and keeps to himself. He’s a character that is easy to identify with in that he works two jobs to make ends meet, helps support his family, and has no time for a social life. Tangee also has a secret he keeps hidden from the world around him. He’s extremely forgetful and while stumbling in late to work one night he meets a man who could possible answer all his questions and give him a better life. Being knocked down his whole life he isn’t sure he can trust the silver hair stranger who seems too good to be true.
Loco is more than excited to finally find his mate but he isn’t sure how to accept his mate's overcautious attitude. Loco is a protector and very possessive, so him being paired with such an independent man is comical. Loco can respect that Tangee wants to pay his own way, but the area Tangee lives is, in Locos opinion, very dangerous. It's sweet that all Loco wants to do is take care of Tangee and take all the hurt and pain from his life.
Circumstances change for this couple after Tangee is assaulted one night. Loco inadvertently gets what he wants, Tangee living with him. Tangee moving in with Loco is only a little bit of this story. The story takes off after he moves in and opens up more doors to future stories in this series. The introduction of a young female child adds a refreshing spin to these fierce werewolf protectors. We also get tidbits on the Eastern Pack that neighbors the Brac Pack.
Ms. Hagen has really outdone herself with Loco’s Love. This is one story that is a roller coaster ride of emotions not just for the reader but the characters as well. Also the love scenes between Loco and Tangee are very erotic and imaginative, never a dull moment between these two men. Loco’s Love is a must read. Grab a copy of your own. You’ll be glad you did.
Tangee is a man who works two jobs to support his mother and sister. When working at the tattoo parlour one day a group of men come in to get tattoos and he is instantly attracted to one of them. The silver haired man turns out to be more than Tangee bargained for, but he also holds answers to his past he wouldn’t have been able to find elsewhere.
I loved Tangee. He was mature, sweet and I respected his bid for independence and a means to support himself. As a man who had grown up without a father and had always had to look after his mother and sister, it felt right that he wouldn’t change who he was because he found himself mated to a wolf. Loco for his part was the perfect mate, he understood Tangee’s need to take things slow and get to know him first even though it was very hard for him to be away from his mate.
The author definitely went overboard with the introduction of Melonee (Tangee’s sister) to the Brac Pack household by turning all of the warriors into big oafs - not that they weren’t that way before, but it was a little too much this time.
The errors in this one were a bit too much also. I don’t normally mind a few typos, but when it gets to the stage that words are missing from a sentence and therefore the meaning isn’t clear, it does get annoying. An example of the bad editing was when at one point Malonee was supposed to be with Tangee at the Den, then the next she had been in a car accident with her mother, which made no sense whatsoever unless I was the one that misunderstood.
Still, I approach these books knowing they aren’t literary masterpieces, just a way to escape to a place where things no matter how big the problem are remarkably easy to overcome and everything is looked at through rose tinted glasses.
Well, I delved into the Bracverse a 2nd time and now there are 121 books - yikes! I loved this Universe the first time I read it several years ago and now I love it more, I really do, but I've only been able to read these series (and I have expanded to all the books that are currently out in each): Brac Pack Christian's Coven Zeus's Pack Demon Warriors The Exiled
These are the series that start the Universe. Reading them in order is a must. Each book has it's own love story but there is an underlying story that plays out throughout them all. As you get towards the end of these series, other series come into play and I noticed that, since I did not read them, I missed some of the characters being mentioned (good and bad) but I was still able to follow because the main ones stay the same.
One day I WILL buy these and read them all!!! (For the correct order, just look on the Internet for Lynn Hagen Reading Order): Brac Village Shadow Tribe BPNG (Brac Pack Next Generation - Brac Pack kids) The Remus Brothers Wolves of Desire
Ok, this might sound as a little bit stereotyping. But why is a guy with so many tattoos such a wimp and target for bullying? This book and the relationship was in many ways too stereotypical in my eyes to be enjoyable. And Loco's behavior is so typical for these chimp-wolves (that fits actually, wolves at least court). They don't even seem to consider that they have to work for getting their mates, they just take them and that's it. I know this is due to all the mate stuff, but this is totally arrogant. This series needs a mate that talks turkey, best a shifter who has the necessary physical strength but it I doubt that to happen since Mrs. Hagen a) lumps all shifters more or less together in their behavior and b) somehow seems to abhor mating a big muscle guy with another big muscle guy (seriously only George and later Heaven so far came anywhere near being physical matches for their mates [Josh was turned later and Gabriel doesn't count]).
typical lynn hagen serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical lynn hagen? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by : lynn hagen stormy glenn scarlett hyacinth carol lynne gabrielle evans
unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.
Another shifter read. More vampire problems in this one. At some point I think there will be a vampire mate.
Loco found his mate a few books ago. This took us back to then and brought their story forward. Tangee is another half wolf. I feel bad for him and Drew that they can't shift. Oh well. This is a fun and loving couple that enjoy each other. A happy story for the most part.
I love that we got to see Jasper and catch up with how he's doing. I'm not sure who the next warrior to find love will be. I didn't pick up on any secondary characters meeting new people. Looking forward to more Brac Pack.
I'm glad that Loco has found his mate, Tangee. Tangee was pretty awesome, however, the bullying parts were hard for me to read. I was hoping that Mark or Loco would have done away with those three bullies. Tangee finding out about his father's side of the family was very touching and his little sister, Melonee, was adorable and had all the warriors gushing over her. The romance was sweet and their sex life was unique to say the least. :) I can't wait to read the next book in the series. The books are always my perfect escape and guilty pleasure. Just love them. :)
I enjoyed the light banter that was the focus of most of this book, it really set the perfect mood. Tangee and Loco were awesome together and I really liked that they were so carefree with one another. Melonee was a great addition to the pack and I absolutely loved that the little girl had all the badass grown shifters talking baby talk and spoiling her rotten.
I really enjoyed this one. The addition of a child was an interesting development. I thought Tangee was adorable. The writing still isn't that great but I liked the story. The blurb wasn't really good for the story though.
These stories are like crack, I know it's not the best, but I'm addicted!
The of this story bothered me because the little girl was in two places! I can suspend reality, but such obvious plot issues drive me nuts! Spelling and grammar I can overlook, mostly, but I'm addicted so I keep reading :)
Though it felt a bit rushed, I love these books. Not many books have me laughing so hard. They aren't the best written but if your looking for something just to make you feel happy give this series a go.
