Eliana Menino is a very strong woman. When she learns that her father has missed a few loan payments to their investors and their family vineyard is about lost after four generations of hard grueling work she steps in to make a deal of her own. She offers to work off the debt herself in service to a man she calls "Demonio".
She has never left her beautiful home in Brazil but when Hale Forester agrees to her terms she leaves her beautiful exotic home and flies to Napa Valley on Forester's private jet.
It doesn't take long for Eliana to realize the Hale Forester is not the ruthless man she thought he was or that he does have the power to break her heart. Both their lives are about to change.
Oh this book was so good!!! It has all the necessary elements of the perfect romance, obsession, passion, intrigue, heat, betrayal and love. The settings were superb, the characters engaging. The difference in cultures was well portrayed. It is a well written memorable story as smooth as a fine wine and yet as steamy as Eliana's home of Brazil. I was drawn in before the end of the first page and could not escape its spell until the final word. It was a story I didn't want to end so I am thrilled to learn there is a sequel coming soon!!
This is a perfect beach read or the perfect book to escape into at any time of year! The sequel can not be published soon enough! Cheers Rhiannon, I loved this story!!!

A modern day, exotic Jane Eyre!
Family is everything to Eliana. When her family vineyard is threatened by foreclosure, and her dad is on his hands and knees pleading, she makes a deal with Hale Forester, the handsome man behind the loan. She’ll work off the debt by working for him in his California home. Meanwhile, she has to leave her family and her homeland.
While Eliana loves her father dearly, Hale wants to forget his. His life has been plagued with curses, and he lives in an old, dilapidated mansion all by himself. When Eliana breathes life into the place, she stirs desires in him he hasn’t had in years. Ultimately he must make a tough decision to do the right thing and lose Eliana forever.
Bonded in Brazil reminded me so much of one of my all-time favorite books: Jane Eyre. Hale is so much like Mr. Rochester, and Eliana, like Jane, must save him from himself. With beautiful imagery of lush vineyards and cold castles, the prose flows like poetry. The characters are all very easy to relate to, and the chemistry between Eliana and Hale is sizzling hot, but also runs deeper than mere attraction! Boy does Rhiannon Ellis know how to write a romance!
I recommend Bonded in Brazil to anyone that enjoyed Jane Eyre, or anyone that likes a well told, steamy romance in a beautiful, romantic setting.

When you get a review book by an author you don't know about what do you do? I get all jittery. Will I like it? Hate it? But only one to find out and open the damn book so I did and it blew all my expectations. It wasn't what I thought it would be but needless to say I enjoyed it.
It's such a sweet and a tad spicy romance story about a feisty young woman bonded as a servant to the 'Demonio'. As Eli attempts to save her family legacy from his clutches she learns and grows. This was more than a page turner but the characters are more than likable even if you end up not liking some. I hope that makes sense. LOL
The story just draws you into a whole new world and it might not be one what you are used to. A terrific novel that's not only sexy and exotic but had me emotionally connected. I loved the book from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down especially the nights I had to cook.

OK – well the pragmatist in me found the part of the plot to be – well quite frankly unbelievable even for a light and fluffy read. The logistics of Eli flying to the USA the very next morning without a visa and passport seemed improbable. Yes she may have had an up-to-date passport (I know I do) but a visa? Still I decided I was being too picky and allowed myself to continue reading and ended up enjoying the story. It was a nice romantic escape for a few hours. Despite my problems with the start of the story Eli was a likable, if stereotyped, character that showed her fiery Brazilian temper by flying off the handle at the drop of a hat, yet in balance she thought through problems and was kind-hearted and forgiving. Hale too was a much deeper character than you would think and like a knight in white armour he went off to right wrongs and take ownership of injustices. As with many romances lack of communication between Hale and Eli caused most of the tension, but a happy ending did eventually arrive as required. The setting was great, a vineyard always a good spot to set a story I think, and a potential Napa Valley one with views was perfect.

I liked this story just fine. The characters I was torn on. I actually liked Hunter. I thought he was sweet and compassionate, especially after finding out what his lame ass partner did behind his back. Eli on the other hand, I could not enjoy her character at all. She was constantly jumping to conclusions, which annoyed the hell out of me, and she got over her initial hatred of Hunter pretty darn quick. She started liking him for really no reason in particular except that he seemed lonely. I just thought if she hated as much as we were led to believe she did in the very beginning, it should have taken longer and a lot more things to happen before she starting pining for him. And in the end with her refusal to read the letter, i wanted to just smack her. Oh well, it is what it is. And overall it is a decent love story.

I enjoyed this book very much. Despite a busy schedule I finished in 2 days. I contribute the lovable heroine to my need to finish. I connected immediately with Eliana, though we have nothing more in common than the fact we are both women. She's wonderfully written, fierce and funny, gentle and kind. I rooted for her from the start and loved her braveness in the face of every obstacle.
Ellis writes steamy scenes you'll fall into head first and captivating tender moments you'll want to recreate in the immediate future. I liked the hero Hale, BUT I have to say it was Bastian, Eliana's brother who stole my attention the minute he arrived on scene. I'm excited to know he is the hero in another title by Ellis. You can be sure I'm picking that one up next!
Ellis writes steamy scenes you'll fall into head first and captivating tender moments you'll want to recreate in the immediate future. Let me say at the outset that I never read these types of romances but since I love many things about Brazilian culture and people and I needed something for the treadmill, I thought, why not? Formulaic, yes it was, stereotypical too in its characterizations of the "sensual Brazilian beauty" and the "cold,
yet virile and handsome young American businessman". Nevertheless, I found myself liking the couple and the secondary characters and interested in how they would resolve everything in order to be together.

I have to say I'm getting tired of the protagonist always being happy at the end of the book when she finds out she's pregnant. It's getting tired. Anyway, I liked the discussion of the cultural differences between Brazilians and Americans and the story was nice.
