This book grab the readers' attention and does not stop until the final sentence of the book. It didn't feel as though the language was awkward even though it's a translation from Hebrew. The author found a great translator! The first book and next book in the series haven't yet been translated but I'm sure they will be soon.

"Ring of Lies" is the story of Alex Bartel, a Mossad operative who has to save the Jewish population. The web of agencies and characters was very well done! Sometimes the web can get tangled but not in this book. The book is very suspenseful, written to entice the reader to finish and solve the crime. I'm hoping the other books get translated soon! I would pick them up in a heartbeat!

Did not finish. Got to page 65 and still didn't know WTF was going on or what the story was about. The writing style immediately immersed me in... something. I never did find out what. I bought this seemingly new book (crisp paperback cover with zero signs of wear) at the thrift store. I can b understand why it was there.

This is a story about espionage in Europe and Asia. It is the 3rd book in a series, but the first to be published in English. Written by an Israeli, the original publication was in Hebrew.
The main character is Alex Bartal, who is the director of a ring of people living in various cities in Europe and Asia whose goal was to eliminate anyone who was planning harm/kill persons sympathetic to the Israelis.
The translation is excellent. The plot is very complex and takes many twists and turns throughout it's 464 pages. The action keeps you hanging on. There are many deaths, many suspected of having betrayed the group, and violence is almost their middle name.
The main goal for the reader is to figure out who are the "good guys." Of course, the main character's are doing the same.

Mysteries Solved.

An espionage thriller that jumps between memories of World War II and present time. Alex Bartel ,director of the Mossad's Operations Branch is threatened by the horrors of WWII and the Third Reich .When A sleeper cell of Mossad agents begin to be killed one by one, Alex must find the traitor. The book is an thriller that doesn't let up! Alex must try to keep the dark horrors of the past buried that refuse to stay buried. A real thriller that ought to be enjoy and keep you on the edge of your seatl

Some words about the author Dunevich who apparently hasn’t heard about the cancel culture around the world and keeps publishing blasphemous rumors, fake news and horrible images made by him, against mostly women in the Israeli political arena. Books written by such a misogynist women hater, should not be read by anyone who cares about clean politics and safe space for all.

Good thriller

This is a good read; very solid development. Only character I think was flawed in the story was the Director of Mossad; I did not see that aspect as believable, but rest was excellent

Fast reading spy novel. Kept me guessing. Written by an Israeli and translated to English. He's written a series but this is the only one translated to English. I'd read the others but I don't know Hebrew.

Alex must find out who in Mossad is betraying the Ring of Nibelungs, a group of covert agents around the world, and having them killed. This book is full of espionage and intrigue. A thriller at each page turned until the very end.

this book had a great pave at the beginning and then it just fizzled out for me .... lack of character development - maybe something just got lost in the translation ... ho-hum

Very easy read. Well written. And exciting action. A little hard to follow in the middle and some unnecessary sexual talk. Over all good read.

Not my favorite genre, but this was the only book handy at the time. If you're into espionage with violence, you might enjoy this more than me.

I enjoyed the book, but thought it was odd to do an English translation starting on the third book in the series.

Tentativo di cambiare genere di lettura fallito.
E si riconferma la mia poca simpatia per la letteratura israeliana (e per Israele.
