Buku nipis sahaja tapi suka dengan pengisiannya. Nampak simple.
"So speak to him in soft words. May be, he accepts the advice or fears (Allah)." (Surah Toha : 44)
Kesannya, beliau hanya ikut Islam sekadarnya kerana tak rasa keindahan Islam.

"Once the soul has fallen in love with his or her Creator, he or she will naturally leave the negative vibes and strive harder to please God. The heart and soul of the person will only be drawn to the good and the positive vibration"
Buku ini sangat menepati tajuknya : calling me softly. Terasa seperti sedang berbicara dgn sahabat baik yg sangat dipercayai. Bahasa yg digunakan sangat ringkas dan mudah difahami. Tapi saya masih curious siapakah the wise old man yg dibicarakan dalam buku ni😂 Dialah yg seperti sahabat baik yg sedang menasihati kita.
Each and every of us has our ups and down. It is brilliant to connect every significant moment with related verses from Al Quran and hadith. After all, Quran is the love letter from our Creator to us. Not only it serve as manual but also reassurance when we are in doubt, pacifier when are in fear, and guidance when we are lost.
The best part was, the author was not preaching but she was only telling her experience in her journey of life.
Keep on writing for we need more Yasmin Mogahed in this world!
This is my second unplanned purchase from the author, and yet, the contents surprised me the same! I never thought that it would keep me company towards a journey of life which seems simple to practice, but often forgotten.
Without plan as well, I keep talking about the good reminders I got from this book to my friends so they could benefit from them, and some planned to purchase this book too!
My favourite chapter? 18 & 27. Why? You gotta read it to find out 😉
Calling me softly is generally about the writer personal journey in getting to know the exemplary lifestyle of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a role model man, as a teacher, as a husband, as a friend, as a leader and as a messenger of Allah. The author shares her struggles in applying the prophetic teachings and how it has affected her life. Indeed, Islam is simple.
I have read the book and like other book from the same author, it is an easy read and a good reminder to all of us. I would recommend it if you are looking for a quick read and a reminder of your daily life. An advice if I may is, read it when you are ready. So, that it won't be too heavy material for you
Islam is simple. Islam is a way of life. The book is a sharing by the author on her personal journey and the lessons she learnt. I like simple books. Calling me softly is one of those books. I particularly love Chapter 25 Strangers and Friends as well as the last chapter Secrets of the Nights.
Guidance come from the al-Mighty. Whatever our actions; are truly dependent on our intentions. Allah knows best. Allah the All-knowing and most merciful.
