I thought I would love it like her previous book 'Talk To Allah'. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it. Her personal experience was there, the elaboration was there. Tapi tak boleh nak suka atau menikmatinya. Mungkin sebab banyak isi-isinya merupakan sesuatu yang saya dah tahu seperti cara-cara nak khusyuk, kepentingan solat. Jadinya, kalau seseorang tu dah ada basic atau pernah baca banyak buku berkaitan solat sebelum ni, mungkin akan rasa bosan bila baca buku ni.

“When we first start, we might feel our heart is still hardened. Eventually, when we bend our body into ruku’ and sujood to Allah, we will begin to taste the sweetness of our salah as our heart begins to melt for him”.

This is not a guidebook. Some people learn through reading books that are offering just tips, the do’s and how to‘s but some people learn better reading the story of someone that has been through the same thing as they are in life.

Ayesha’s writings are something that I can relate to on a personal level because we are struggling with the same thing, and she definitely wrote them from her heart. Honest, raw and pure. I’m proud of her, and IMAN for doing their absolute best, growing together as a team. From BAQTG, TTA, to LFGC, there’s significant change in her style of writings.

Following Ayesha’s personal experience in falling in love with salah and mending her relationship with Allah, she went miles learning everything she could about salah; its meaning, purpose, how to love it, mindfulness/khushook, its importance & beauty, and syncing it with everyday life.

Notes 📝:
- We struggled differently. Some people can do other ibadah like fasting, covering the aurah easily, but salah is one of the ibadah they find definite struggle to comply, whilst other people, are the opposite.
- We cherry-picked the ibadah according to what we like the most, and thought it was just enough to be a person with a good heart. What’s a good heart if we’re not practicing our religion truthfully?
- We rely on other sources to fill in the space of our contentment and happiness, when Allah is always there for us.
- We are just like a child that needs constant reminders to be able to remain steadfast in doing ibadah.
- Salah ready attire is a sign that what we’re wearing is pleasing to Allah.
- All of our sustenance is from Allah, but yet some of us are still in denial, ignorance and arrogance walking on His Earth. Rather than being lazy and complaining, find ways to improve the quality of our lives.

“Our religion is beautiful and comfortable when we start to open up our minds and heart to it. Do not limit our understanding for Allah’s capability is beyond what we can think of.”

Seronok bila dapat tahu penulis ni keluarkan buku baru. Alhamdulillah, berjaya miliki buku ke-3 penulisan beliau.

Tarikan buku ni mungkin pd kesungguhan penulis bercerita melalui penulisannya. Ia menimbulkan keterujaan ketika membaca. Setiap bab terasa ‘terisi’ ttg keindahan solat.

Perkara pertama yg kita perlu benar2 ambil berat (lakukan dgn sempurna) sebelum bertemu Allah. Penulis juga menekankan kepentingan melakukan tadabbur surah al-Fatihah dan surah2 yg lain bg menambah ‘rasa’ ketika solat. Pd akhir buku ni, penulis menekankan untuk kita berterusan menimba ilmu bg membimbing kita mendekati Allah/Solat dgn konsep L.E.A.R.N. Apabila timbul rasa malas solat, kembali pada LEARN.

Jom baca buku ini utk berkongsi keterujaan yg sama. Walaupun buku ni ditulis dlm Bahasa Inggeris, In Sya Allah ia mudah difahami.

Buku ni sangat best and inspiring.

My favourite part is author cakap jangan anggap solat ni macam chore but instead think of it as a date with The Almighty :)

Please read this book guys and I can guarantee yall will change your perspectives of performing daily prayers.

Longing for God's Closeness is a spiritual book that revolves on how to get close to Allah through salah.

"Everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their life because we all overcome the world."

Rather than being a typical spiritual book that tells you "do this, don't do that", I feel like I'm reading a memoir. The author does not just shares with us her journey towards the consistency of performing salah properly, but she also brings us there with her. There's actually more than three occasions stated in the book that being so real and relate to me so much, that I can really say, "hey that's me right there!".

"I am genuinely a servant, tiny servant in His sight, and I need Allah SWT through every single second of my life."

With that having said, this book really speaks to me. Thus, it's really easy to understand the tips she gives and lays down. Instead of thinking that the goals are impossible to achieve, I now believe and convinced that if she can do it, I can too!

"The reason why I am so proud of this religion is because everything is about progressing. When we are on track and trying to push ourselves back on the right path of Allah SWT, we may not straightaway attain everything, and it is fine. Every single change that we make is a progress, and it falls into place when the right time comes."

I love this books, seperti 2 buku sebelumnya.

If in case ada buku keempat nanti, i guess i will buy it also even masa tu belum ada sale. Sebab rasanya penulis dah jadi one of my fav author too ✨

My fav quotes in this book ;

“Some days we win, some days we lose. Our tiny iman goes up and down the hill of nafs and the anchor we secure to Allah SWT at times shifts with the waves of other accurences that pass through is, and such is life.”

“.. because everytime we miss any prayer, we are indeed covered in ‘dirt’.”

Read whenever i felt, i need to refresh of purpose my ibadah.

i already finished reading this book in 2 hours. this is quite embarassing but anyway, i have to admit it.

do you have experienced that your Salah is started to feel numb? like all of the sudden ? is it because of your eeman (faith) is decreasing or you ignore the call of the prayers ?

as a Muslim, prayer is the most important element in Islam. it represent all of our deeds for example, sadaqa (charity), fasting and more in The Day of Judgements. we often feel distract whenever we want to offer Fajr, Duhr, Asr', Maghrib, Isya'. and it's hard to attain koshoo (able to concentrate more during prayers).

i've been losing myself for a month starting from early days of July i think. i didn't read as much as i'm supposed too, felt fatigue and slept for a whole day (which i rarely do) and i had a terrible sleeping schedule and more worst, i had no motivations. sometimes, i have to agree that it's hard to get the momentum right in its place once there's interval between the times :'') what a relief, i got myself back when i read this book. truly inspiring 💕 i cried in a very first chapter until its last.

piety or righteousness is the prime objective which a Muslim has to achieve in this life. all the instructions, constraints, freedom, rights and education provided by Islam are with the objective that a Muslim becomes pious and moves on the righteous path. prayer has a great role to play as it promotes Taqwa (piety) in the follower. in The Quran, Allah Almighty says:

This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guidance for those who have Taqwa: who believe in the unseen, and who establish Salah, and spend out of what we have provided for them.” (2:2-3)

This book was a NEED for me. First of all, I really do want to thank the author giving such useful and beneficial tips for readers like me, who needs ways to improve our method of learning! I truly want to start journaling after I read the three books from this author.

I've always found peace in salah (daily prayers). I was so glad that Allah has given Muslims a gift so that we could find ibadah (servitude) for ourselves. Truly, why do we need to pray? For Him? No, for us. Because we need it. This book broadens our view and the story of salah.

A segment I truly needed was the khushoo in prayers. I personally struggle with this everyday. Constantly, my thoughts are swamped with noises, thoughts and whispers. I know of this and yet, I'm lost as to what I should do to stop it. The author gave such useful points that I'm very sure to use it from now on. I loved how she emphasises that it is almost inevitable to completely stop the train of thoughts from entering our mind in a specific moment but it's the effort that counts. I do know that in prayers, it is when we are COMPLETELY submitting to Allah. So, I hope to improve myself on this aspect :).

Salah was the main topic of this book so I really recommend this book to those who are struggling to stay focused in their prayers or just struggling to pray. This will broaden your view and feel the deep longing to salah! Subhanaallah, may Allah make it easy for all of us, ameen^^

I can relate to her earlier struggle. To be honest, I am still struggling so reading this at the moment felt like it's a reminder by Allah swt so that I can do better.

I like the metaphors that she used to make things easier to understand. I've learned a lot as well. Semoga dapat mempraktikkan apa yang dipelajari.

Few notes for myself:
●I always feel envious towards people who do salah effortlessly. I should accept that people struggle differently and strive to do the best I can regardless.
●Connect everything with salah and believe that things will fall into places, just like He promise. After all He is the provider of sustenance.
●Learn the meaning of the surah and the ayah in salah so that we can be khyusuk in salah.
●Besides the fardhu, try to do solat sunat as much as we can.

InsyaAllah.

Towards the end however things started to get repetitive a bit tapi tidak merosakkan pengalaman membaca secara keseluruhannya.

Qudwah, is the vibe of this book, more than just tips and advice. It’s like confiding in a sister, and she’s there advising you while sharing stories about her spiritual journey regarding salah.

The book has been sitting in my wish list for some time and I’m glad, no, grateful that I picked it up to enter my life. The topic is close to our heart because salah is part of our life, and all the words and quotes are just so soothing. It will definitely change your perspective on salah and its beauty.

This book is the kind of book I will keep referring to when I have issues with salah or simply want to regain spirit, along with the book Rehatkan Hati Dengan Solat (same publisher).

Thank you @/ayeshasyahira for sharing with us your journey and your reflections which has and will benefit others tremendously. May Allah grant you, the publisher and the readers Jannah. May all of us be able to preserve our salah, for us to be the best servant to Allah.

Bismillahirahmanirrahim. This is my 1st book of @ayeshasyahira. I love this book as it offers raw experiences rather than idealistic theories that we cannot relate. I can say this firmly: every single person who read this book can relate to it. It is the common struggles that we all face regarding to prayer especially.

My utmost respect to her, bcs she persistently emphasize the importance of learning. Learn, learn and learn. Our whole life is about learning.

"Honestly, the way I do it is to continue LEARN by seeking knowledge. I am incredibly grateful for the knowledge granted by Allah SWT because I would be lost, ignorant, and arrogant if I were not guided by His knowledge. So on days you are demotivated, go back and LEARN."

Ma shaa Allah. This is something really important for us to ponder upon. U dont stop learning as you grow, instead you need to grow (upgrade) your learning. I remember what Ustaz Hasrizal told in the book of Reviving the Spirit of Ramadan.

"How unfortunate is one who is 40 years old but fasts with the knowledge he learnt at 15 years of age. Knowledge must always be increased in line with increasing experience, challenges & exposures of all sorts."

Sister Ayesha also gives us a list of realistic tips that we can try to pursue in repairing our salah. She uses the approach of extracting the ibrah (lessons) from the Prophet's stories. I can say that this is more like heart to heart session, from someone who struggles the same thing, to another. So it is totally relatable.

Some of the thing Ive learnt from this book:

🌌 All of us are struggling to do our best, but remember, you dont have to be perfect, because perfection only belongs to Allah SWT alone.

🌌 Learning is a life time process and it is the only way to help us grow properly in embracing the problems and tribulations in life.

🌌 Prayer is so powerful. The moment you start to repair and be mindful while doing it, you will be more calm and in peace of mind.

This is really good book to be read in Ramadan. & it is one of the book that goes to my rereading list. Thank you Sister Ayesha for sharing this with us. May Allah reward you with enormous blessing.

Do you know what is the most beloved deed to Allah SWT the Greatest? The answer is, salah (solat).

Longing for God's Closeness is the third book from the author. Before this, the author shared to us how to create a relationship with the Quran in her first book, Being A Quran Tag Girl and how to find comfort by making dua to Allah SWT in her second book, Talk To Allah. But in the third book, she shared with us to rediscovering the beauty of daily prayers.

If you ask me which one of her books that I love the most, then I would say this book. Why? Because this book really made me reflect myself. Not gonna lie, I'm still struggling and lacks of doing salah. Everytime I started to pray, I would start to think about something else and of course, it's all about dunya. Hence, I really feel ashamed to Allah SWT for not remembering Him in salah. So, how to make a good khushoo when we start to salah? How to make a beautiful relationship with Allah SWT through salah? This book shows me how to make all those things and much more.

The author also shared countless beautiful things I don't know about salah. My favourite chapter in this book would definitely be chapter three, where the author shared the beauty of salah and much more. Furthermore, there's numerous topics in every chapters that made me mind-blowing, such as our fingers represents the rakaah' of salah and the space between them are the time where we spend doing dunya things and etc. I never think about that until I read this book.

This is not just like another "how to make a good salah" books, this book is different since the author also shared with us her hijrah journey, and the language used is simple and relaxing.

Therefore, I highly recommend this book to all Muslims out there to read and gain more knowledge about this important routine aka salah.

“When we know how to please above all others and make Him the top priority of our lives, certainly a path full of blessings awaits us. The moment we feel the need to rely on Allah SWT, the heaviness in our hearts and mind would be lifted. Not even an inch of sins would ever cause Him to unlove us, and that is our beloved Lord, Allah SWT.”

Prayer is a daily ritual for Muslim. It is one of pillar in Islam. The question is, it is just a ritual? We only move our body and not bring together our heart, soul and mind? No! In prayer we must bring our heart, soul and mind together with our movements but usually we will lost our focus whenever we perform our prayers.

In this book, the author, @ayeshasyahira shared her experience, her opinion about prayer, some tips and how she suddenly feel she need to perform prayer and changed herself to be a better Muslim.

For me as a reader, the tips shared by the author maybe the same tips we can find in other books. The different is, the way the author elaborate the tips by relating with her own experience. What she get, see and feel after practising the tips in her prayers.

I always believe when someone try hard to improve their prayer, they will feel the sweetness rely themselves to Allah. Everything they do, they will always back to Allah, talk to Him and put their trust to The Almighty Allah SWT. So, don’t give up to always improve your prayer😊

For me, there are two types of religious-motivational books.
1) The kind that carries stern voice and scold you when needed. They slap you with facts and painful truth and left you shaken to the core, but impactful and crack something in you. The reflections are usually mind-blowing and they triggered your mind to ponder as well as your heart.
2) The kind that soothes and empowers you with its advices. They embrace and gently tugged your hands to something better. The specialty lies in the writing and tone, lovable and friendly.

This book is type 2. It tells the journey of the author to discover the beauty of prayers alongside her tips. As much as I love her reflection, they are not extraordinary and leave me shaken. I have high expectation for this book but maybe because I lean more towards type 1 book that this book kind of fall short. However, they did made me pondered and touched from time to time (swipe to see my favorite quotes).

If you've read few books on prayers before this, you might find this book content as basic but they are beginner friendly. The tone and vibe are welcoming. I would labeled this book as appetizer for those who wanted to start reconnecting with prayers.

Overall, the book is a good read and remind me how beautiful and magnificent our daily prayers are.

Sharing my takeaways from this gem by Ayesha Syahira.

#1 The power of seeking KNOWLEDGE.

Knowledge will keep the door open for us to come back to Allah, does not matter how far we have gone astray.

#2 Once we have entered the door, REFLECTION is key to keep improving our relationship with Allah.

This is where Ayesha shared her inspiring journaling, tadabbur and reflection journey. Her story will make us want to start a solah journal of our own.

Quoting her words as motivation for us, "The essential part of learning is to ACT upon it."

#3 Understand that attaining and maintaining khushoo in our prayer is a GRADUAL process with multiple ups and downs.

"Because Islam is a state of becoming, not a state of being," quoting Khurram Murad's word in In The Early Hours.

===

Some people might find several points mentioned in this book to be repetitive if you are used to books or classes discussing about solah.

But, but, but...

I think there is something in Ayesha's writing where Allah made the same words to touch our hearts differently, and maybe even bring us the courage to act upon, regardless of the state we are in now.

Same words, same reminder, yet you are affected by degrees deeper. How beautiful is that, right?

Read it, then you will feel it, insyaAllah. Definitely a 5 star reading for me.

Three major points I have learnt from this book:-

(1) It's just like a revision book for me because some of the contents that have been shared by the author, I've known it for long but somehow too careless to practice it properly in my daily life - especially the knowledge for solah.

(2) Be aware that solah is the priority of every matter because it is the closest connection between us as a servant and Allah The Almighty. Even though sometimes we may be too focus to manage our daily routines but remember that solah is always be the number one deed, it is an obligation.

(3) Solah is the main key to be a better version of ourselves. When we have the intention to change how we behave, the way we live and the need of happiness, start with solah. Do care about our solah in a discipline way then the changes will be there for the best. Perform the main five times of solah properly and as you're be able to do, do add on another ibadah - dzikr, Quran recitation, nawafill prayers, etc.

It always excite me to read sister Ayesha's book. I always love the way she beautifully curate a story and gives endless input from each and every story. While reading this book, I got suck in reading slump hence explained the long time taken to finish this book... and I had to say I regret it not completing this book earlier.

As someone who always stumble in the process to perform solat in kusyook, this book helps me, pick me up again and show the hope and ways to achieve that. I love how the author talk about the beauty of solat, share her own personal experience that is relatable. There are a lot of contents to take in, to practice. Thank you sister Ayesha!

Author banyak kongsikan perjalanan dalam memperbaiki kualiti solat beliau.
.
Bagaimana kita hendak memperoleh kemanisan/khusyuk dalam solat? Ada beberapa tips/perkongsian yang saya dapat. Antaranya :

Even though I didn’t rated this book 5 stars, I must say that this is a must read for everyone. A great book to start my reading journey for this year and also to slowly manifest my spiritual goal. Bear in mind that it might take a bit of time to be really invested into this book as the writer mainly share her experiences in the first 50 pages(which is pretty long). However, beyond those pages, there are a lot of contents to take in and put into practice.

Good book. A bit surprised when i start and reading and found out this is actually the 3rd book. Havent read the 2nd and 1st book.
In short, consider your prayers as dates with Allah. Like how you prepare and pay attention to your dates like dressing, showering, wear perfumes, do the same and more when you pray.

!!! This is not a fiqih book about salah !!!

I decided to bought this book because I feel like I need some advices and motivation to improve my salah and my relationship with Allah. The author included a practical guide on how to be more mindful/kushoo during our daily prayers, which I find helpful! Also the stories shared by the author is kinda relatable to me, so I feel like I'm not alone.
