I read this book fairly quickly skipping the parts that did not apply to me. I feel kind of indifferent about it. I had a stroke 12 years ago when I was 12 years old so a lot of this stuff was not new to me. At the same time however I felt like it was a little too much for someone that just had a stroke yet barely scratched the surface for someone recovering from a stroke. By this I mean it touched on so many different topics that it could be overwhelming to a new caregiver or survivor yet it did not go into detail about how to actually get better after stroke. It was sort of like the basics of what you might expect after a stroke

Clear and concise. Short paragraphs focus the text. Clear large typeface, with illustrations throughout to add context to the text. Wide format keeps the mind on task without extensive line breaks to add confusion. Short format and paperback cover keep the weight down. The person who designed this understands stroke.

So it says a lot that my mom couldn't get through it.

Very informative for both patient & caregiver

As a recent stroke survivor, who has still not seen a neurologist 6+ weeks post- stroke, I found this book to be very informative. I learned more from this book that my PCP could have ever told me. A must-read for anyone who has experienced a stroke or their caregiver(s).
