The Fireman is a Treat and Loveday is Sweet!

Kate Hardy writes the sweetest of story and this is no exception! I know this book is the sixth in the "St. Piran's Hospital" series of eight books. But I still enjoyed it thoroughly!

Tom Nicholson is a firefighter who is dealing with a tragic loss that has left him a surrogate parent for the four year old Joey. Fiona Loveday is trying to get over her feelings of loneliness after the death of her parents as well. Due to circumstances and certain events, these two help each other unknowingly with successful results! Tom helps Fiona with her shyness and confidence while Fiona aids Tom in realizing his emotions and how to deal with Joey.

This book is stellar. As usual with Kate Hardy stories, the supporting cast is limited but they do a fine job when present. All the details and the way the events are depicted, makes it a treat to read. Also, I like how much of the inner dialogue is shared, allowing the reader to clearly know the man's perspective. That always makes me like a book more.

One of the things that threw me off was the snippets about Megan and Josh, but since this is a series, it makes sense. It is slightly distracting but not an hinderance.

Also, I like the fact how the author created Fiona as being so gentle, genuine, knowledgeable and kind. She has her body issues and the author handles it wonderfully. Sometimes, it is annoying when all the characters are beautiful and stick thin. Fiona has so much substance and is gorgeous - inside and out!

Definitely recommend this as a read. It is a lovely and cute tale with a tinge of sexiness. (A hulky firefighter who lifts for fun and likes to hug! You will like it...) I am going to explore this series further because all the authors are talented.
