Reinkarnation in einzelnen Körperteilen
Aghnar kommt ohne Beine und mit nur einem Arm aus, sein Sohn, wie dessen Name "tête d'acier" schon andeutet, ohne Kopf, Ururgroßmutter Honorata ganz ohne Körper, und Urgroßmutter Oda ohne Geist. Die Metabarone sind schon harte Knochen, die einiges aushalten.

Als Leser leidet man nicht wirklich mit, denn die Protagonisten sind schon völlig losgelöst von allem, was wir kennen - bis auf Gefühle, die sie in Breitbild und Cinemascope ausleben können. Zeichner Giménez präsentiert erneut opulente Barockbilder, die in Pathos und Melodrama ertrinken könnten, wenn sie nicht gleichzeitig von einer ebenso ausufernden Sprache und Story unterstützt würden.

Man muss sich schon ein bisschen auf so eine kalorienreiche Erzählung einlassen können, doch insbesondere, wenn man die Bände aufeinander aufbauend betrachtet, erhält man eine Space Opera, die kaum Wünsche offen lässt.

Primer tomo de "La Casta" que no tenga en papel. Ojalá no me arranquen la cabeza cuando lo consiga, aunque he de admitir que seguro los vale. A esta altura de la historia, me pregunto si Jodorowsky se está poniendo un poco predecible o yo ya estoy jodorowskyado un poco, porque hubo un par de vueltas de tuerca que logré anticipar por varias páginas de ventaja (como cierto "trueque" entre personajes). Pero, siendo sincero, también hubo otras tantas que no me vi venir, o que terminar siendo mejor de lo que me esperaba, así que no me voy a andar haciendo el vivo. De más está decir que me dejaron con muchas ganas de leer el #5, que para mi alivio tengo en papel, así que seguro vuelva a la Casta pronto.

O metabarão Aghnar, bisavô do atual metabarão torna-se o mais cruel de todos nesta história, um mercenário que se vende pelo melhor preço sem qualquer sentimento de Justiça ao saber que a sua amada Oda, que ficou morta cerebralmente após a batalha mental pela destruição das feiticeiras Shabda Oud não foi efetivamente salva pela sua mãe Honorata, que se vem a descobrir ter sobrevivido numa brecha temporal , para conseguir substituir o seu coração bomba por um coração novo, tendo nesse período envelhecido muito. honorata promete ao seu filho salvar Oda mas com essa mentira/ilusão acaba por permitir criar um filho que é uma aberração criada por incesto que se vai chamar Cabeça de aço .
Com o desgosto aghnar aceita um trabalho pelos Phtagures para a extinção da galáxia atual e apenas o seu filho o poderá tentar vencer para perpetuar a casta dos metabarões.
Cada vez mais cruel e requintado o argumento tal como é o ser humano . Nada longe da realidade

Dark twisted fantasy in space

The stakes get higher every time. The story has all the elements of a space opera. But it also borrows from universal elements found throughout every ancient myths and medieval romances. Simply put, this is King Arthur and a Greek mythology in space. Trapped by their fears, the characters become victims of their own hubris. It's the old trope of self-fulfilling prophecy and the sins of the father being visited on his son.
This is a must-read for fantasy and science fiction buffs. It's a rollercoaster from start to finish. There were times where I thought I knew what was going on, and I was right, but in typical Jorodowski fashion, I was surprised.by some of the twists that I didn't see coming. I'm off to read volume 5!

Jodorowsky has some amazing ideas

As we move into the series, I see the less-invested fans dropping away from the storyline. I do enjoy the series as a whole, but I see less and less real action / character development brought to bear. I enjoy the story as a whole, especially up to the last issue, but in this one I see less to hold onto as deeply engaging. In its defense I appreciate the idea of "Steelhead" but got little out of his being a machine. Is he the logical endpoint of the mindset of the characters that caused him to be?

Greek tragedy, but less Hamlet (I know that isn't Greek, bare with me) but more Oedipus. gorgeous artwork and some really balls to the walls ideas - if you've seen the Jodo Dune documentary, you'll recognise several of them here. allows for some of the preciously Metabaron cycle to be maintained without smelling mouldy.
suffers for being mostly Oda in name and less in story. way more Aghnar 2.0

Je crois que j'ai compris le schéma régissant la vie de chaque méta-baron.
Tuer son père à la puberté.
Avoir du sexe une fois au maximum.
Et subir les foudres d'un destin aussi cruel que joueur, comme dans ce tome où Aghnar va sans s'en rendre compte être l'amant de sa mère possédant sa femme décérébrée (après avoir tué son père, ça fait un peu freudien comme destin, non ?).
Gimenez maîtrise toujours autant l'art de la courbe, mais héla, le scénario de Jodorowski est un peu trop torturé pour moi.

On atteint le point du grand n'importe quoi affreux qui est aussi révélateur des grandes familles possédant le pouvoir. Tout est fait pour pérenniser la grandeur de la caste même quand le fils essaie de se débattre et trouver sa liberté après avoir perdu ses parents. La place de la femme est toujours limitée à celle de reproductrice et même le perso le plus puissant agit dans l'intérêt d'un homme. Ca reste très animé et rempli de combats et de choix difficiles ce qui donne envie de lire la suite.
