I can't believe that I've had to create a public school writing level shelving system. I especially feel bad because the writer is a nurse. I'm a nurse I'm not saying the story didn't have potential, but it was choppy and hard to get lost in. Simple things like not using a contraction when it would be most natural to do so. Upon finding the female frozen in the snow, then putting her to bed, one brother says to the other, "Do you feel something funny, Brock?". To which Brock replies, "Yep, she's the one.". WTF? She hasn't even spoken yet! It was very amateurish. But I will say this, neither brother was an asshole, which I HAVE noticed is a running theme these days - Sweet, hot, playboy bunny type falls in love with an asshole with a heart of gold, and is heartbroken when he won't admit to his feelings for her. Puhleez! My advice to playboy bunny type, go find a tall, kind Geek with potential. You'll be worshipped within an inch of your life and probably rich to boot! Sorry, rant over.

It did remind me a great deal of Maya Bank's Colters' Woman which I liked a great deal more.

When brothers Brock and Brady find a woman lying in the icy road, their only concern is keeping her life. Not realizing that this moment will change their lives forever, for they have both found the woman who they will lose their hearts too.

Jeni knows she needs to run, she knows her ex-husband is not far behind her and she knows the wrath he can cause towards others who help her. If only things could be different, she finds herself attracted to both Brock and Brady but wants to keep them out of harms way, they want her to trust them despite her fears.

I liked this one, had a few moments that were similar to other books but overall a pretty good read.

Since the summary says it all, I'm just going to delve into my impression of the book. And here we are again with two hot ranchers, who find a woman nearly half frozen on the side of the road in the middle of a snow storm. They rescue her by taking her back to their ranch where they plan on warming her back to consciousness. We all know the quickest method of warming a cold body – sharing body heat. When she wakes up the next morning, she's naked and sandwiched between two fine male specimens. And here we go ...

She's shocked, but not terrified. Wouldn't you be terrified if you wake up in a strange place, in a bed, naked with two men, and no idea how you got there?

As soon as she wakes up and speaks to them for the first time, Brady is instantly taken by her. He asks Brock if he "feels it too" and that "she's the one"? What? Apparently this sort of instant attraction and knowing on sight that a woman is "the one" runs in the family, seeing as their mother and two fathers are also in a permanent menage relationship.

Of the two brothers, I liked Brock the most. Brady just seemed so immature, whining all the time trying to think of ways to make Jeni stay and fall in love with both of them. Brock was more serious, and intense. Preferable over the "kid".

The drama of the story doesn't come from Jeni and her trying to navigate her feelings about falling for two men, or the societal repercussions. Her ex-husband is after her, and will use any means necessary to get her back. Even resorting to violence.

I'd have thought the drama of her ex and the showdown would carry all the way until the end of the book, but surprisingly it's over and done with near the half to three-quarter mark. That's where the story takes a nose dive as all three of them get muddled in miscommunication and assumptions. Honestly, don't adults talk anymore? Why is guarding one's heart against rejection so much more preferable than laying all the cards on the table and knowing where one stands?

Anyway, the loving was hot, the story itself failed to make me remove my sweater. And yes, as another reviewer already pointed out, the synopsis sounds very much like Colters' Woman, minus one brother.

Wendy's Review

Brady and Brock were brothers who knew that only one woman was going to be enough for the both of them. When a snow storm moves in fast the brothers only wanted to get home but what they encountered was an unconscious woman in the middle of the road half frozen.

Jennifer Hampton was on the run from her abusive husband a man who enjoyed beating her for any reason. Running was her only option till her car skidded off the road and down an embankment. The predicament wasn’t what she needed and she definitely didn’t need to be sick but that is where she found herself. Sick and in a strange house with two sexy, hot brothers.

Learning to trust one man would be bad enough but two start trusting two men would be impossible or would it be? Brock and Brady showed her everything her ex husband didn’t. Loving them was an adventure, an adventure that she never wanted to end and didn’t know how to tell them. What she didn’t know was they didn’t want to stop their arrangement either. Coming together and discovering the love wasn’t just great hot sex but a love made to last.

The setting was on a ranch in a snowstorm miles from nowhere who wouldn’t want to be stranded in the storm with these men.

The sex scenes were hot enough to melt any amount of snow!

I really wanted to give the book a better rating but I just couldn't. The whole reason Jeni was running was taken care of mid way through the book. The second half was one giant miscommunication between Jen, Brock and Brady. She wanted to stay but wouldn't say anything. Brock and Brady wanted her to stay but wouldn't say anything either. One cup of coffee and a heartfelt conversation and the second half of the book could have been resolved in a few pages.

I will say that I would try Marla Monroe again. The book had a lot of potential.

was really good, the ex was really evil and the romance and suspense was good. wanted to know more about the family though.

1st read - 9-18-12
2nd read - 2-24-16 - Changed my rating a little bit since my first read - While i still enjoyed it, she irritated me a little bit more this time around, plus they could have explained about their family and it probably would have helped the situation a lot.

more like a 2.5 for me. Brock and Brady are two sexy brothers. Jeni is on the run from an abusive ex.....sound familar? All you have to do is add one more brother and this storyline is really to Colter's Woman, however, the emotions aren't are strong as in CW.

2.5 stars.
The not talking and telling each other what they wanted was dumb. And the ending with the h going stupid and walking out into a snow storm knocked off any chance of a higher rating.
