How does a traumatized young panther shifter woman deal with the horror of being hunted by the drunken rednecks who have just shot and killed her parents? Especially when one look into the eyes of the magnificent man who happens to be there to save her reveals with sudden and shattering clarity that he is the one who will be her mate for life? The added shock of that recognition along with his irresistible scent overwhelms the desperate woman with a stunning surge of wildly thrilling sexual power that is natural when one of their species first meets their mates. Only the gentle nurturing and care of the gorgeous, sexy man can calm and heal the emotionally tortured young woman. He is everything she needs.

Ms. Carlysle has created a sweetly complex heroine in Chantrea Morgan. She is a study in contrasts, both feisty and vulnerable...an open-hearted, strong young woman who captured my interest and admiration. Trea is about to complete the dangerous and exciting change from woman to panther that all young ones of her species face. The lovely female shifter is brave, trusting and eager.

This change brings on violent episodes of elevated sexual heat which can go on for days or even weeks and is potentially fatal. Fortunately, she is in the capable, experienced and devoted arms and home of her newly found mate, Hudson Cates. Hudson, as is the custom of his kind, has chosen his best friend to be his second in the sexual transition of his long awaited and beloved mate. After Trea has completed the change to panther for the first time, the two will remain bound to each other alone for life.

Trea is also in the panther shifter tribe's territory among supportive friends and protectors. These shifters are committed to finding and bringing to justice the murderers of her parents, who continue to hunt her. I was fully engrossed and captivated by the community and lives of the panther tribe and the world that the author so skillfully and eloquently created. The love story was beautifully written and consuming in both it's tenderness and passion. I was also absorbed by the suspenseful plot which involved the violent, disgusting men they had to deal with.

This was one of the hottest books I've read in ages. I was really impressed with the intensity and passion between the characters, both sexually and romantically. Reading the unfolding of this sensitive and erotically powerful love story was truly a joy. If not for a few editing mistakes, I would have rated it higher. The quality of writing was excellent in every way... the story engrossing, the characters delicious, the sex scorching and wild. I was so drawn in by the characters' experiences that it was like living it myself.

I recommend this book to everyone, especially if you love a good paranormal romance. Panther Moon is the second in the series, Savage Sanctuary.

Get yourself a fake black fur coat and wrap it around you—because that’s as close as you’re gonna get to Hudson Cates. He’s too in love with Trea to want anything to do with the likes of us, ladies. *Grumble* Still, the coat gives a nice illusion that you’re snuggled up beside him, ‘cause that’s exactly where you’ll wanna be when you read Panther Moon. Phewy, he’s a hot piece of Texas and then some. Top Totty.

Panther Moon starts with a cleverly deceptive opening. I sat reading, loving the interaction between Trea and her parents, and then whoosh, I was spirited away from that and slapped right into the middle of Trea running for her life. And run she did. I felt her struggling for breath, felt her upset, and hated the men who chased her.

She finds help in the form of Hudson, a guy who burns with love for her upon sensing she’s his mate. He is such a sexy beast I couldn’t help but pant for him a bit myself. And that isn’t difficult to do. He’s sexy, handsome, and a whole lotta muscle. He’s also caring, understanding, and considerate of Trea’s needs. What a darling! I fair swooned several times—so much so I blushed quite a bit and glanced around furtively to see if anyone noticed.

But Hudson isn’t the only Top Totty you’ll get. Oh no. You’ll meet Rio. Woweee! He’s a big dollop of gorgeous as well. And the things the three of them get up to… Dear Lord above, give me air conditioning and cool me down, because the ménage scenes heated me up like sitting in front of a good old summer bonfire. It won’t only be your face that burns, gals!

Oh, and when you read it, see if you feel the same way about Tom as I did. Like, do you want to poke him in the eye with a sharp stick? I mean, who the HELL DOES HE THINK HE IS, HUH?

Unmated Chantrea, a panther shifter, wants what her parents have: love, affection and deep understanding between mates. After living her life alone in the woods, her parents want to move her to Sanctuary, a place where panthers can be safe and find mates. But before her parents can make the move, they are murdered by hunters. Fleeing them and about to go through her first change, Chantrea must make the journey to Sanctuary alone. When Hudson Cates, a warrior of the Turquoise Moon Tribe, saves her, he brings his grieving mate home to Sanctuary. It is now up to Hudson to teach her how to embrace her beast and to show her the deep, abiding love they can share.

Savage Sanctuary, book two of the Panther Moon series by Regina Carlysle, is a wonderfully erotic read. I loved the chemistry between Chantrea and Hudson. They practically set the pages on fire. You can tell right off that Hudson is a strong, honorable alpha male. He has a good heart and deep emotions that are wonderful to watch him reveal. Chantrea is shy, but strong as well. She has not grown up with others of her kind, but she adapts quickly to all the changes she has been dealt to come out the other side even stronger for what she has had to deal with. I really wanted to see her get the prince charming she desired and was cheering her on all the way.

Although this book is part of a series, it can be read alone and enjoyed completely. In fact, I found myself so taken with this story I did not want it to end. I hope there will be many more books to come in the Savage Sanctuary series. I will be first in line to get them.

Panther Moon by Regina Carlysle kept me riveted. This emotional story melted my heart. My soul cried for Chantrea and the traumatic loss she was forced to endure. Her feisty nature and great strength made for a fantastic heroine. I’d hoped she’d find a safe haven and her kind for protection.

Hudson whew, talk about a man at the right place at the right time! I felt my heart sigh when he appeared and took the reins. The passion he felt and the guilt that washed over him for feeling it was endearing. I loved how they meshed together and how he put her before all else.

The secondary characters took notice too. Rio, oh, he is the best example of a best-friend a man or gal can have, suave, yet respectful and equally as protective. I loved King Titus and his wife and how they took in a scared young woman. Chan’s brother Max made my heart stutter with his entrance and his animalistic personality.

I loved the beautiful setting of the story, vivid in every imaginable way possible. When the crazy who hunted Chan showed back up, I worried blood would be shed and one of the magnificent panthers would be injured. I held my breath waiting for the outcome.

This story is definitely one I’ll be reading again. I’m glad I read it and it stood alone great, I’ll be going back to find the first one now!

The second book in the Savage Sanctuary series is an intriguing, hot and steamy romance. The author created a shifter world with lots of spine tingling erotic sex and interesting elements that keep the reader entertained and looking for more. I will definitely be looking to read more about the Turquoise Moon panthers.

Short and sweet but really enjoyable. We all love to imagine that whole "mine" thing. And wowza, the love scenes.....!!!

For a short story, it was pretty detailed and I enjoyed the secondary characters as well. Looking forward to more from this author.

Enjoyable read. The set up is great, the world building strong. I'm waiting for the next one and wondering if it will be Rio's or Max's story.
