I think there's no shortage of books out there that use take qualities from the Biblical casting list to outline what a "real man" should look like, this one really isn't any different. I started reading out of a heart for the subject matter, but also because this is the first book to come out of the John MacArther camp that doesn't attack another pastor, so I found myself intrigued.

Well considered, thorough and challenging

While not that dissimilar from other books of the kind, it covers all necessary ground, is well written, and is readable. Most of all, it is accurate and challenging because it has a sound scriptural basis. As always, what you gain from it is determined by your willingness to apply the truths presented.
