Logan Stone lives a lonely existence as the beta of his wolf clan. It's his job to protect his people and follow out the orders of his alpha. That doesn't leave much time to find a mate or fill the empty hole in his heart. When he spots a set of sexy eyes staring at him during the moon festival, Logan knows he has met his mate.

Finding Love Star is not as easy as keeping him. Love may be fascinated by all things wolf but when Logan goes feral during their mating, Love runs for his life. Logan has to call for help to find Love, only discover his mate is hiding right under his nose at the Stone Clan compound.

Instead of convincing Love of the merits of being mated to a wolf, Logan has to depend on Love to protect himself even as he tries to shield the man from the dangerous world he has just entered. If they survive the interference of well meaning friends and a coyote shifter bent on killing Love, they just might have a chance of finding out what fate has planned for them.

In spite of my low rating, I didn't hate this story. The set up sounded cute, with a human who adores wearing fake wolf ears and tails, unawares there are real wolf shifters in his world. My one star is for the writing, dialogues and plotting style, which didn't work for me at all.

On a positive note, I'm probably one of few readers who didn't have a problem with the MC being named Love as a given name, as it's commonly in use as a man's name in my country.

Stormy Glenn is a bit of a conundrum to me. She's not a very good writer, but her stories are interesting. Maybe she's one of those people who would be great at telling a story around a campfire, but she runs into trouble when she has to put the words on paper. I'm constantly finding mistakes in her books, not just typos, but the wrong words being used. For example, she once used "perspective" when the correct word would have been "respective", then used "prospective" when it should have been "perspective". I've also spotted several incomplete sentences. It's frustrating and happens frequently in her books. On top of that, her characters tend to be rather stereotypical and sometimes insulting. I love her ideas, but her writing is so mediocre that I can't in good conscience rate her books any higher than two stars. Are they worth paying money for? Definitely not. But if you can borrow them from a library source or friend and are into m/m (and sometimes m/m/m) shifter/vampire romance, you might enjoy them.

Usually I like Stormy Glenn's writings. They are usually a fun read, with enjoyable characters. This one, however, fell short.

This book is about Logan (who we saw in True Blood Mate #1, Heart Song) and "Love" (Yes, the character is named "Love"). Logan is the typical lonely yet highly judgmental wolf, looking for a lifelong love. Love is a highly eccentric and highly annoying nutcase who spends all his time worrying about his fake ears, fake tail, and lollipops. Personally, I could not enjoy the characters. Quite frankly, I found myself wanting to storm this book with silver bullets just to bring the story to an end.

To make matters worse, there are inconsistencies in the True Blood Mate universe that crop up with annoying frequency. For example, at the end of Heart Song, Asher Stone was going to bite Darren Hart to transform him into a wolf. In this book, Darren is still human and Love is actually half wolf, which is apparently a source of prejudice. Apparently, you can no longer transform a person into a werewolf, contradicting parts of the first book. There are other errors as well, but this was the most irritating one for me.

After re-reading on 5/17/16, I updated and re-wrote my original review:

"Logan just had a hard time finding a mate that his wolf liked as much as he did. Finding a mate was an uneasy process. His wolf had to be mated as much as he did. Logan liked simple relationships with men who understood that he was the boss. His wolf liked pretty boys who needed high maintenance."

*giggle* I absolutely adored that description of the dichotomy between Logan and his wolf.

I fell in love with Love the instant I saw him. How could I not? He wears wolf ears and a tail, and he's obsessed with all things wolfy, not realizing that wolf shifters really exist, and his friend Matt has brought him into contact with them. Love meets Logan, Logan mates him, and then Logan actually believes he's going to tell Love "the deal"? Yeah, I laughed, too!

"He wanted to be loved and cared for. He didn’t want to be under someone’s thumb, having to ask for everything in his life. He liked dominant men, yes, but even he had limits, and Logan Stone just found them."

I actually felt bad for both Love and Logan until they could manage to get their issues/baggage sorted out. Actually, for a while their multitude of misunderstandings made me a little crazy, but when they finally figured it out..... Well, it was almost too late.

Loved, loved, loved Love! He totally made this story for me, hands down!

I LOVED, LOVE!!! NO explanation for it... he just worked for me! And can I just say, with a "small" almost spoiler... Love's fuzzy ear obsession ends up having a GREAT explanation! *grin*

Logan? Going in I thought, UGH, another idiot that thinks he is in charge of the world or his clan, as it were... BUT, that was before he meets LOVE... Yep, reality can really shock the system! hehehe

Loved it again. Yeah Love is just this side of crazy but he freely admits that he's "crazier than a bedbug" and he's so cute about it too. Besides there are reasons for the quirks. First the wolf ears and tail show his obsession with wolves and so I think somewhere deep down he senses that. As for the lollipops, they are used as a stress outlet when he gets upset or worried. He's funny, sassy and okay, more than a little snarky, but he knows who he is and doesn't care what anyone else thinks. He's fiercely loyal and will defend those close to him with his life. He loves his mom, loves his friends and is looking for that someone special that will love him just the way he is. In the end isn't that what we're all looking for?

Logan, on the other hand is totally mired in his duty and honor. He knows what he's looking for in a mate, easy, pliable and maintenance free. His wolf however wants beautiful which Logan knows comes with a lot of maintenance. Love is beautiful and a whole lot of maintenance. In the end the wolf wins with the love-at-first-sight mate thing as we knew it would, and you end up with a very happy wolf who's human half is less than pleased with it's choice. To counteract that, Logan decides he'll just put Love in his place from the start and that would be that. Doesn't quite work out that way for Logan and he quickly learns that mates and love don't exactly follow the plans you make.

In the end Love finds his forever in the beta-wolf and Logan figures out all the maintenance Love really needs is his attention and that's not such a bad thing.

I found that any editing errors were minimal and didn't affect my enjoyment. Ms. Glenn's storytelling is fluent as always and as for the glitch of Darren from Heart Song, supposedly having been turned in the first book. They only really ever talk about it and we never actually see it done, so who can say.

To start off with, Logan sooo rubbed me the wrong way with his 'high maintenance' and how he treated Love after starting the bonding process.

Love is no little pushover and rollover, small, not dominant, and scared, notwithstanding. He's got quirks (I found to be cute and endearing but he will not be for everyone)

Logan quickly learns that he'd rather have his mate any way he can take him, regardless of his ideas of high maintenance. Seeing as he IS a dominant wolf, it does take him awhile to learn the art of compromise, at least on some things.

The fact that later on we learn about Love's parentage and his status as not actually human, I found to be COMPLETELY unnecessary to the story. I think it actually detracted from the story. Love has obsession with wolf ears, tail, and lollipops (childish but endearing... or annoying depending on how you take it) but we see his 'business' side when it's time to pitch in with injuries. Thus meeting Dary, who rubbed me the wrong way in this meeting. He came across condescending to Love (though we know that's not his personality!) and still human .. what happened to transforming bite? and why do we need to set up Love as a half-breed when his mate can change him if so desired (no mention of it in this book) Plus where are we going with the Speaker thing Love has going on? Only time will tell if the series will answer any of these questions.

4 stars for Love! Yeah, I know, totally not the type of perso I like normally, but I love him, nah!
1 stars for Logan! I found him extremely condescending to Love. It's insulting how he just judge Love immediately. Everyone who disagree with him, who demand affection and yeah, some time is considered high maintenance...WTF?

Seriously, you named your two MC, Logan Stone and Love Star???

Ok, I wrote the above sentence at the beginning of my lecture of the book. I don't change my opinion of Logan now that I finish the book. He is an ASS.

At the end of the first book, Darren was supposed to be bitten and transformed. In this book...he is human, the fact that Love's a half-wolf seems a problem and the book do not mention the possibility of being bitten and transformed.

In the first book...Darren was the Alpha's bitch now it Alpha-mate (or Beta-mate in the case of Love)...

I can't say if it's the writer fault or the publisher (more the editing team) but in each books and series by this writer and publisher, the problem of the plot constancies always there. I think that it's a problem with the publisher since it's the same thing with different writer. I annoying. It's not difficult to take some notes about your personages, your plot ideas, make a calender...

This is a very cute, very funny story. Just this side of over-the-top (for me), the two main characters are the usual big/strong wolf and smaller human. But with a nice variation, in that Love is anything but submissive. He is head strong, a total brat at times and so overly concerned with his appearance it's funny.

The way Logan reacts to him on a purely instinctual level is the "usual werewolf insta-love", strengthened by the mate bond. But Logan also accepts Love's every eccentricity. I liked that message about true love: no matter how crazy others may think Love is, Logan loves him just the way he is. How many of us have wished we'd find someone like that? Or have a friend who just doesn't seem to 'fit' and wants to find love and acceptance like that - just like everyone else?

If you like your heroes a little out-of-the-ordinary, don't mind some tongue-in-cheek humor and adore werewolves you will probably like this book.

This one almost felt like a last minute fill in as there was no real plot or at least it didn't seem like there was until 3/4 of the way in to the book Soooo many gaps, errors and inconsistencies.

My scale for Stormy's books are as follows
5/5 exceptional in that the editing/writing is well done
4/5 excellent story idea that is told with out the writing driving me crazy
3/5 might have been excellent but writing drove me bonkers
2/5 swear to god this was a last minute fill in
1/5 could not read this it was so bad.

This is by far the worst book I have read in years! And if the mood strikes me I'm not that picky.
Ridiculous characters, horrible plot and execution, bad editing and so on. I think the only reason I managed to finish it is my fascination of exactly how horrible it was.

This was okay. My expectation is so low that isn't even funny.
Love is again Glenn thinking that quirks are the same of personality, he is sweet and all but the book don't let him be him just a bundle of his quirks and Logan is pretty much each character "alpha" she usually write.

Of the three books in the True Blood Mate series Love Sexy is my favorite. However, that doesn't really mean anything because the bar is set pretty low. Like the two books before it, Love Sexy suffers from poor editing. Granted, a lot of the errors are minor, but they are noticeable and they pull you out of the story. The book moves along at a fairly fast pace and the protagonists are put in some challenging situations. I like the character of Logan, he seems solid and well rounded. However, the character of Love...I didn't love. He comes off as being a spoiled, unappreciative, slightly off balanced brat. I'm sorry, people who pout are childish, and people who think that pouting is sexy don't appeal to me. Oh, and what's up with the fake wolf ears and tail? I understand that they represent Love's fascination with wolves, but no one walks around wearing a fake set of wolf ears and a tail and expects people to take them seriously. There had to be another way for Ms. Glenn to show Love's fascination with wolves, one that didn't make him look like a lunatic. And just to push this character a little further down the crazy path Ms. Glenn gives Love an addiction to lollypops. What a lovely picture, a 25 year old man wearing a fake wolf tail and wolf ears sucking on a lollypop. That's got hot written all over it.

I give Love Sexy three stars, only because it wasn't as bad as Alpha Born.

I was worried when I began reading this book that I wasn't going to enjoy it. Logan came off as very judgemental towards Love at the beginning, with nothing to base it on and I thought it would drag on for most of the story and ruin the book. However, Logan got a wakeup call fairly early on and that potential drama was nipped in the bud. I enjoyed meeting new members of the pack and revisiting old ones. Love was a very fun character, I liked that he was as protective of Logan as Logan was of him. Logan got Love's personality completely wrong; he wasn't only flighty and addicted to lollipops, he was strong, clever and mature and even though I thought the quirk to his story wasn’t very original, he finally got what he’d always wanted.

Then we learn about

Overall, wasn't bad. Kind of wanted more though.

Nice but too many small things that turn me off. And few inconsistencies with other books in this series.
What's with the two small red tears tattooed by the corner of the eye of one of the MCs?? This kind of design was popular maybe in the 90-ies. Small tatts can be often mistaken for blemishes/flecks or something that looks extremely like you have dirt on your skin.

I had the weirdest sense of deja vu while reading this book. Some parts seemed very very similar. I do not know if this is because I have read alot of Stormy and Joyee book??? who knows.

This wasnt my favourite in the series but it added a little bit to the series or worldbuilding. It set up the next book and I look forward to finding out about the blue haired boy.

This book had an MC who is purportedly human but wears fake wolf ears and a fake tail and sucks on a lollipop wherever he goes. If you so much as touch any of these three objects or cause him to miss out on it, then he throws a tantrum.

His name is Love Star.

His mom's name is Moon Star.

I think that is enough said.

Fun light-hearted read. The style and etc may not be everyone's thing but I love Stormy Glenn's books for their "feel-good" appeal. It's an uncomplicated read that just leaves a warm feeling. That is what this one was. Love is a bit of a "crazy" but fun and funny. I enjoyed the read.

I really did not like Love's character at all. His wearing wolf ears and a tail was a bit much. Logan was forgettable. The plot with the coyotes was predictable. This story had nothing memorable about it.
