The best you can get in Norwegian fantasy, unfortunately never reproduced in English to my knowledge, and there hasn't been any reprints in decades so impossible to find this gem of literature, but if you ever have the chance to read this phenomenal take on high fantasy, on the struggle for peace and coexistence between people, on magic and dragons and humans and elves, this is truly one of the masterworks of fantasy.

I wish there was a translation of this book to other languages, so that even more people can enjoy this amazing book! Loveable yet flawed characters to fall in love with, and a thrilling story to follow. This book is a masterpiece for sure. My boyfriend wanted me to read his favorite childhood book, and though 19 years old, I absolutely adored it. One of the best norwegian authors by my opinion

Eg leste "Skogene kommer" som ungdom, som sendte meg på en quest etter de andre bøkene i serien. Eg glemte aldri denne fortellingen, og da eg som voksen kjøpte denne samleutgaven, fikk eg endelig hele historien. Elsker den. Beste norske fantasy, etter min mening.
