Aisha McClellan has more trouble than she knows what to do with. A born cat-shifter, part human, part leopard, at the age of eighteen when she was just coming into her first heat, a rogue member of the pack attacked her and traumatised her, leaving her unable to shift.
Cast out by her pack, she makes a half-life for herself on the outskirts of both human and shifter societies, moving from city to city, seeking some kind of attachment. She's been in San Antonio for about six months now and has taken to hanging out at The Litter Box, a bar where cat shifters go to relax. Several times she's allowed herself to go home with someone she's met there, but it's always a disaster, and after that she's careful to avoid them. Her best friend is the bartender, Max Rogan. One night when she's drinking too much he coaxes her story out of her. He is appalled at how she's had to live and what's happened to her.

Has fear ever held you back from doing something? Aisha has a problem. She's a shifter that can't shift. Locked out of any pack, unable to access her inner cat or find sexual release. What's a girl to do?
Find a bar of course! Fear holds her back, will vodka set her free?
This story was an enjoyable short read, with an almost fairytale feel to it. Even though this story was very much a paranormal, the emotions of its characters were very realistic. The fear, the hope and the desire were so believable. Aisha and Max could have been any modern day couple just trying to make their way to that one person that is the right one for them. Ms. Holt tells the story well from both points of view. I felt just as connected to Max as I did to Aisha. I felt Aisha's desire for Max and her fear that even what she felt for him wouldn't be enough and I could totally sympathize with Max for being reluctant to risk losing her all together.
Go on out and get your copy of Pretty Kitty, there's so much to enjoy inside.
I love Desiree’s cowboys and wanted to give her shifters a try since I love them as well. I am so glad I did. This book dealt with some difficult issues and to me what seems to be how a lot of people deal with the issues involved. I know that quite a few women who have been sexually assaulted turn very sexually promiscuous. I find that I admire and respect authors who write about real life issues and how people deal with them just as Desiree has done here.
Aisha has been through hell. I can’t imagine being raped and then being banished from your whole family and all your friends. Max has suffered in silence watching her deal with her issues and wanting her the whole time. When a few too many drinks loosen Aisha’s inhibitions and she hits on Max a couple of times, things heat up.
Pretty Kitty was a really good book with a really good story line. I can’t wait to read more from the series.
After an attack left her unable to shift, caught between, no pack wants a shifter who can't shift. She has to find someone to help her lose control and orgasm so she can shift. Shifter after shifter fails her leaving her despairing she will after recover. Until her very good friend takes her home one night and shows her delights and claims her as his mate. Warning there is violent attempted rape scene.
