Exceptional detail. Character development typically seen in a fiction book. Incredible story that keeps you in your seat even if you know the ultimate outcome. Good connections with transitions to the more recent coaches and players. Lucas offers a masterclass on this team and its achievements.

The author is way too young to have chosen the topic, but he did a good job historically and especially covering the New York City connections of this team. Especially good are the insights he elicited from team MVP center Lenny Rosenbluth, a lean scoring machine from the city.

I am a big Tar Heel fan and this book solidified this. I did not know much about the 1957 team and this book enlighted me.
