A Renewable Resource Economy

Rate this book
Taken from Preface. This book was born out of a growing conviction that it is high time to reconcile our approaches to the economy and nature. Since the first critical step in any process of reconciliation is communication, the purpose of this book is to open one channel of communication between economists and environmentalists in the hope of demonstrating that the two communities really share a great deal in common. Put simply, the environmental-conservationist camp has not wanted to be bothered with consideration of such matters as job losses or productivity declines, while the economics-business camp has most often dismissed what they perceive as the doomsday warnings of resource depletion and pollution overload.
