Everyone is lying, including her father, her client....and her girlfriend. It wasn’t the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce event she was expecting, but when realtor Ari Adams discovers the body of a prominent businessman, after his apparent suicide, of course she calls 911. When her girlfriend Molly Nelson is among the responders, she is happy to let the professionals take control of the case.
When a former client asks for Ari’s representation, she’s loathe to turn down the business, even if it Biz Strong, the one woman Molly does not want to have any part of Ari’s life. Tensions on the home front get even worse when Ari’s father blows into town, full of questions, and Maggie is abruptly reassigned after determining that suicide was actually murder. Everyone has questions, but many of the answers turn out to be lies. Nobody but Ari wonders if business greed, familial revenge, dirty cops and shady investments might all intersect—with deadly consequences.

Great series! an even better 3rd book with much quality storyline, plot twists and good writing. This plot goes way deeper where the story digs into finding out more about all the different underhanded shenanigans that was going on at the precinct and also the readers do gets to find out who the real 'snitch' or 'rat' is in this series. Another part of this book/storyline is the love triangle story going on between(Molly & Ari & Biz)which was an enjoyable section for readers because it was nicely written by this author with even more energy, lots more chemistry, very insightful, issues dealing with alcoholism and self-esteem problems plus self worth etc. Highly recommended series to everyone
This was the best book out of the series so far. It seems to me Roberts, is getting better writing mysteries the more she writes. What I liked about this book is it wrapped up a lot of the loose ends and we finally know who one of the bad guy/girl is. I am still really struggling to like the character of Molly. Ari is such a sweetheart, and I'm not finding any redeeming qualities for why she loves Molly. Molly is an alcoholic, and actually was physical with Ari. Yet one mistake Ari makes, and Molly makes Ari out to be "the bad one" Frustrating to say the least. I'm not sure how Roberts is going to make Molly redeemable. But to be honest it is one of the more enjoyable parts of this book. While you have an interesting mystery going on, you have all this Molly/Ari drama. Almost like little mini soap operas. I'm surprised more people have not read these books, I think people would enjoy them. Warning they are addictive. I have already finished book 4 right after this. I just keep needing to know what happens next.
I like Jack. He made one awful big mistake in his life, and tries clumsily to repair it. I think he sums his life up pretty well at the end of the book.
While this minor character shines through the entire novel, Molly falls deeper in her weaknesses and I still don't understand why. Why is she so flawed ? Why her lover never pushes her to see herself in the mirror ? The end is kinda of a relief really.
So life-romance story is complex, sad and interesting. Mystery is sad, not so surprising but also interesting. Yup, nice book all around !
Talk about being in the wrong or right place at the right time. I think murder cases are drawn to Ari Adams. I love there is two mysteries going on along with the stuff between Ari and Molly. I am still cheering for Ari and Molly. I definitely recommend this book.
Lots of people seemed to like this book, but it didn't take long for me to have some issues I started the book expecting it to pick up the clues that ended the previous book, but that didn’t happen. I presumed they hadn't had time to make progress in tracing the address. However it turns out it's been over three and a half and they have got nowhere with finding the address. They know the agents listing the property and they know the number, how many 6815 addresses are there?
Then there are Molly's insecurities and alcoholism, which are getting worse. Added to this Ari is having issues with Biz is the author just playing games with Ari and Molly's relationship? We're into the third book and the relationship is regressing.
The final nail in the coffin for me was the way the author introduces a bright interesting 10 year old little girl, then cold bloodedly shoots her dead. What little enjoyment I was getting from the story all but disappeared.
I finished the book, but I find myself at odds with all the other reviewers. I found the book a depressing experience and I will not be reading anymore of these books.
I like how each book in the series sets circumstances in the MCs personal lives to be resolved in future books. The mystery /crime of the day is solved, but the story is so much richer for the great characters and how they are challenged.
Had a few early problems with clarity in the story. I have read two previous books in the series and I don't remember them so I will be re-reading them now to catch up.
