I love this book! I couldn't stop reading it! A reverted American, former christian, woman is telling her story how she came to the veil. She says exactly what I think! In sha Allah a lot of sisters will be inspired by this book and cover properly as Allah s.w.t. commanded us.
As I completed this book a thought hit me that these times we must encourage each other to follow what is right and to stay away from things that will harm us in this life and the Hereafter, since sharing knowledge with fellows is one of the parts of Sadqa-e-Jariya. ______________________________
R E V I E W: This book is an autobiography written by Iman Daglas, an American woman who was Christian before, unraveling the moral values of Islam in the perspective of the struggle between materialism and the search for truth.
Like in today's world, we all are so busy copying Western culture. Morals have been thrown completely away from us, modesty no longer exists, chastity and virtue are just old-fashioned words that make people laugh. Our minds are diseased (our hearts have been infected ) through television, movies, music, videos, and magazines and we don't even realize it. Please know The life of this world and all of its trappings are traps set by Shetan to invite us to sin and to distract us from the remembrance of Allah ﷻ They are tests which we must strive to pass.
~ lessons I got from this book. 1- We (Muslim women) must be modest in all our actions, not just our dress, our motion, walk, gesture, laughter, and voice all are included in Modesty.
2- Allah ﷻ created women to be beautiful, but that beauty is for her mahram alone not for every man out there.
3- Daughters should be brought up from the beginning to dress modestly. If a young girl is always made to cover herself, when she is older, she will be ashamed to make an open display of her beauty likewise, if a girl is allowed to wear short dresses and pants, when she gets older she will see nothing wrong with these clothes.
May Allah ﷻ guide us all on the straight path. Ameen❤
