This book tells the history of the world from the time when people first inhabited the Earth some 300,000 years ago, up to the present day. The presentation is visual, with the use of overview, summaries, themes and strands on particular subjects accompanied by a continuous linking chronological time-line of dates and events. The themes and strands focus on war, society, religion, people (covering topics such as homes, clothes and leisure), buildings, trade, arts and crafts, science and communication. Biographies of major historical figures are included throughout, and in addition to the time-line there is a ready-reference section with lists which include Roman emperors, Chinese dynasties, Russian tsars and Soviet rulers, British heads of state and prime ministers, and American presidents.

Crazy wrong about certain Islamic practices. Especially who the Shia and Sunni are... But that's what I noticed, so I wonder what they got messed up with other cultures etc.

Kirja, jota olen rakastanut siitä alkaen, kun 6-vuotiaana 1995, tämän kirjan olen saanut. Tämä kirja toimii hyvin edelleen aikuisempaan makuun historian osalta ja lapsena tätä kautta oppi mm. Ruusujen sodasta tai Kyynelten tiestä tai vaikka kolonisaatiosta. Sen lisäksi harvemmin enää näkee kirjoja, joissa yli 40000 vuotta yksissä kansissa koskien koko maapalloa. Myös mm. harvemmin nähtävää Oseaniaa, Afrikkaa tai Aasiaa.

This is book, which I have love since 1995. This was my first history book which I got when I was 6 years old. Love it, because there is many things what kids and even adults can learn for their histories etc.

Pretty good book fun to read all the way through and fun to just flip through and find stuff.
some minor historical inaccuracies here and there but they are mostly just misspellings (one of them i found was the misspelling of Wilhelm in the book its spelled William. i love how it goes through each era in order and each era has like a technology of the era page.
