I don't think I'm a fan of "poetry in context", so I didn't love the little tidbits of information before a poem telling me what it was about. I would rather have read it as it is and interpret it myself, or at least have the context after the poem, not before it. While poetry is in itself extremely personal, I think that's the part that failed to hook me in for this collection – it was so personal that it felt isolating to read, I couldn't fall into it. I did have some lines I loved, but overall, this was not for me, unfortunately.
