Nora Hastings is on the run. For years, she’s been moving from place to place, hiding herself away from the terror of her past. She’s prepared to lay low until it’s time to take off again, always glancing over her shoulder, always making sure her doors are locked. But she isn’t prepared to run headfirst into Ford Armstrong. Ford Armstrong, owner of Berserkr Gym, has always been a ladies man. He’s big, muscular, and, above all, charming. But after watching his best friend crash right into true love, he’s starting to tire of one-night-stands and women who only want one thing from him. And then Nora walks into his gym. Nora comes to Berserkr to learn how to protect herself, but she never expected to have to protect her heart. She’s used to running, but she’s not used to wanting to stay.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book. The author’s descriptions and ability to tell a whole story with GOOD plot in a short amount of pages was well done. The amount of spice in this book versus the first was a bit less. I think it was just shorter descriptions of the moments than in the first.
One thing about romance books is there’s always a “gut feeling” or a “spark” between the characters. Nora was being stalked. Do I think she maybe she trusted Ford a little too quickly? Maybe. But she talks a lot about the “gut feeling” she had that she KNEW she could trust him. And I think that amounts to something. When you’ve been running your whole life, I’m sure finding some place you just intuitively know is safe is probably a good feeling.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend this book as the continuation of the series. Although these are technically stand alones, I’d definitely recommend reading the first book in the series to understand the characters more in depth. I’m giving this book five stars because I think it was a great continuation of the series and Ford is just too sweet to give four stars to! LOL!
I received this book yesterday as an ARC read, and I started and finished in just a few hours. Not because the book was short no it was just that smoking hot and great!! I went into this book having not read the first yet, and let me tell you this book stands on its own. Yes it has the first book characters in it but you don’t need to read it to follow along in this book. I loved the whole storyline it catches your attention and just holds it, makes me want to find a local boxing club. The only problem I had with the story was I wanted more of Ford and Nora!! So go get this book as fast as you can and I plan to read the first book now. Thanks so much for picking me to read this early because it is a wonderful book with all the spicy romance, fighting for your woman, that I needed today!
It was one of the best romance book i have read in a while. I love the chemistry between Ford and Nora.😊 I love how caring and patient he was and how he took care of her and how he was there whenever she needed him.💕 In short, it was a very good book. i would definitely recommend this book everybody who is in a mood of light read.❤ " Thank you B.Randel for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review."
★. This was so bad? Ford spent half the book fucking other woman and talking about his ex’s than actually being with Nora.
Right in chapter two, he’s fucking some girl he wants to date but she doesn’t so she leaves and he’s all upset. Skip to chapter four, he goes to a bar is thinking about Nora. He pushes those thoughts out. Meets some girl, goes for a “walk”. She blows him but he doesn’t get hard so he decides to go down on her????? Make it make sense.
Skip to when we meet Elena I quote “most beautiful and put together” ex-girlfriend. She turned him down but they still meet up for drinks and the best sex of his life. Nora asks about her and he tells her it meant nothing between them but in his pov when meeting Elena, it meant something to him? Again where is the sense?
We eventually find out Dani (his GIRL best friend and business partner) was an old one night stand that HE wanted to date and marry but she didn’t so she turned him down. It gave off the impression that if she said yes I would like to try, he would’ve. Even with his grand speech of saying he wouldn’t, why are you still best friends with someone who YOU told THEM they broke your heart?
Nora was okay. I felt bad for her. She could’ve been really strong but all she did was fold for Ford. Her storyline with her step brother could’ve been more but we had to read about Ford and his ex’s. Ford was also in the marines and we got absolutely nothing from that but again gave the impression he left because of a horrible explosion.
There was no cheating as all above scenes happened before they were together HOWEVER one does not want to read about the mmcs ex’s and their beauty constantly or have a whole book with the best friend aka old one night stand
full disclosure I recieved this book as an arc I did really like this book is it the best thing I've ever read no, but was it good yes 3 out of 5 stars is really good for me me I have a very picky rating system. This book in my opinion is very different from the original which is good for a series like this that is exploring different people and the individual relationships that they have. The characters in this book fell slightly flat to me I just feel as a reader we were given more about the main to characters in the previous book then this one. The spice in this book was better but it did feel slightly rushed but I don't know if that was more on my end then the Authors since I did read the book in one sitting. In my opinion there should've been a bit of a time skip because she felt a little to comfortable with him a bit to fast for someone in her situation. The plot alone in this story is very entertaining it was nice to see she was trying to take matters into her own hands that she didn't just wait for him to take action like some other books. Like I said the spice took more of a passenger seat in this book the last one was more of a slow burn. I really do like this book and the previous one I'm very excited to read the next one when it comes out this series does slightly remind me of the twisted series it is well written and does have interesting characters B. Randall does a good job at connecting new stories with already known characters so the books don't feel to isolated or empty. The spice writing I would give a 6 out of 10 its pretty vanilla.
Make It To Me is the second installment of the Berserkr Gym Series. Though it can be read as a stand alone, you will have a better understanding of most of the characters backgrounds if you read Book 1 first.
Nora is on the run from her past and looking to learn how to protect herself. Ford is co-owner of Berserkr Gym and boxing instructor. Once again B. Randall succeeds in giving us realistic and relatable characters! Watching Nora's emotional journey that starts with fear and anxiety felt like watching a friend struggling. Ford is the ultimate Cinnamon Roll, gruff on the outside teddy bear on the inside type of guy. Every friend group has someone like him in it. I did feel like I understood more about Ford and his background because I read book 1, and that this book kind of rushes over re-introducing him.
Make It To Me is a slightly suspenseful Contemporary Romance story. Nora and Ford's story slowly builds to a suspenseful climax, with enough steamy and entertaining moments to keep the reader wrapped in the story. I am a medium speed reader and I was able to devour this book in 1 day. As much as I enjoyed what B. Randall did give us about Nora's background and why Ford has some of the reactions that he does, I wanted MORE. There were a couple of times I felt short changed on details of a scene.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that reads Romance, Contemporary Romance or Sports Romance. If you enjoy a Cinnamon Roll Book Boyfriend, a finding her strength Female Main Character than you should definitely check out this book!
I had the opportunity to read Make it to me by B. Randall. Nora is a kind human being, but she is on the run from her past life. She has been moving from place to place and has had to learn to fend for herself. Learning self-defense, staying sharp about her surroundings, not attaching herself to material stuff or making connections with anyone. She finds herself in the new town when she plans to continue with her self-defense training and that’s when she meets Ford. He becomes her trainer and she find herself stuck between fighting her attraction for him as well as her instinct to run as far from him. Mr. Ford! Such a hunk of a man. Strong, big and such a charmer but he is missing that special connection with someone. He has done the one-night stands and is ready for something else. He meets Nora and he can tell she is running from something or someone. But he is determined to help her keep finding her strength and maybe she will be able to find something else with him as well. He can feel the connection between both, but will she be able to see where things can go, or will she keep running? I truly enjoyed this book and appreciated when the author can put in the story on how a person can live in fear when they are suffering from previous traumas and how something they not only have to battle that but also their mind as well to make sure they keep pushing.
I received this book as an ARC for my honest review and here it is.
Nora has been running for years from her past, which is totally relatable for so many. Thankfully she was able to get away from it but now she’s being chased by him which is just as equally scary.
Ford owns the gym that she goes to and of course he’s an absolute smoke show and player, until her. You know typical book boyfriend and the beginning of every good love story lol. Ford has some demons haunting him as well from his time in Afghanistan. The realness with Nora and Ford is amazing! I love that about the story.
Honestly I wish there was more of an ending and even an epilogue to see where they are in the future. While I’m sooooooo glad Nora is finally free we don’t know for sure that she is, you can assume but I wish that it was wrapped up just a little bit neater.
Overall it was a cute read!
“You don’t have to be afraid of me. You don’t have to look over your shoulder. You don’t have to avoid being alone with me. I would rip my beating heart from my own chest before I ever hurt you, Nora. And I need you to know that.” ❤️❤️
I received an advanced ready copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nora has spent years running from her past, never able to stay in one place for too long before it catches up with her. Along the way she has tried to learn how to protect herself and the people close to her. She is tired of everyone she cares about getting hurt because of her. Ford is co-owner of Berserkr Gym and though he has no problems with women, he’s tired of being used by them and is ready to settle down.
This was a great read. I absolutely adored Ford. His insides completely contradict his exterior. On the outside he’s a big, hulking, scarred ex-marine but on the inside, “He’s ninety-nine percent cotton stuffing.” I really enjoyed his and Nora’s chemistry, especially during their training sessions.
This is the second book in a series but I still read it, not having read the first, and was able to follow the story no problem. I do however want to go back and read the first book now because I enjoyed this one so much. I do wish there was an epilogue at the end of the book showing us more of a glimpse of Ford and Nora’s HEA but other than that I loved it.
So much frickin angst, I laughed, I cried, I was happy. This books was so good, no 3rd act breakup, but still painfully but so much love in it, I had to pour myself a couple of glasses of wine because I wanted to know the whole story before I closed the book I needed up reading the whole thing in one day. Ford is a successful business owner/ex marine/bachelor, but he wants more out of life. Nora is a sweet woman, so afraid of what can possibly happen to her or the people that is around her, she is so strong but feels like she is so weak, the odds are again her, but she will beat them The spice here is good, so passionate, so got that sometimes requires one hand reading, it's not a whole lot, but what's there, is really good, like 2🌶️/5(please consider that a 5 is full of kinks and taboo, so for someone who only reads romance this is like a 3.5-4/5)
Thank you B. RANDALL for the ARC, this is my honest review and I think anyone who read this book is going to want Ford as their book boyfriend
Such a great book and a quick read if you do not put it down once you pick it up. I was so excited to hear Ford's story after his mention in the first book and she did not disappoint. This story the heroine, Nora is a web designer, on the run from something. As you read you find out what from and why. Nora shows up at the gym for a session with Dani, only to find out that she is sick, and Ford is filling in for her. At first Nora is afraid and timid around him, and Ford being the sweet man that Ford is doesn't know why Nora ran out after just starting their session. She then calls back to schedule another session with Ford and that's when things start to develop between them. Nora and Ford's relationship is combustible at times and sweet the other times.
I do feel like the ending was rushed but other than that I really enjoyed reading Ford and Nora's story and can't wait for Dani's story to come out.
I received this book as an ARC and leave this review willingly.
This is my first book in this series and I definitely will be going back to read the book before this.
The characters in this book were so relatable that I found it hard to put this book down! I loved how the fmc was running from her past but she always wasn’t going to take anything laying down and decided she needed to learn how to defend herself. While she was portrayed as a bit subdued she had a lot of spark and strength in her which was shown many times through out this book. The mmc was just a golden retriever playboy who didn’t want to be a playboy, his need for love was really what got me falling in love with him.
Plot wise this was a fresh take on a scared woman running from her past but also learning how to defend herself from it. I really enjoyed that there was no 3rd act breakup in this book and that the MCs really supported each other.
I received this book as an ARC read in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was hot, fast paced and kept me hooked! This book was the perfect amount of drama mixed with romance and a touch of smut.
I did appreciate the short read, however, even though the plot is very interesting, it felt a bit rushed. It was a kind of insta love story which I don't really like anyway but especially since we know she is running away from someone dangerous. I would also have liked an epilogue since the end felt a bit abrupt but I guess we will get a little bit more from them in the next book (which I am very excited about!)
I did not read the 1st book in the series yet, but after this one, I definitely want to!! I found myself getting attached to the characters and their dynamic (the fact that she talk dirty back to him!!! yes women!!)
P.S : First time I read about the personal trainer trope and it will not be the last!!
Omg! Ford and Nora's story....absolutely amazing! I thought Stellar and Adam's story, in book 1, was unreal, but this was on another level.
I don't know if I just connected with Nora and what she was going through, or whether it's just the fact B. Randall is really a fantastic writer, but I honestly felt like I was living their story. The way B.Randall uses her words and puts together her sentences, paragraphs and chapters, I was fully able to picture what was happening in the scenes as I was reading.
There were times I laughed, cried and was on the edge on my seat. The last few chapters, I was holding my breath as reading.
Can not recommend Make It To Me enough. And I can't wait for the next installment in the Berserkr series.
I received an ARC copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Trainer/student She’s in danger Former marine hero
Make it to Me is the second book in the Berserkr Gym Series
This story had a little bit of suspense included. Nora was on the run always afraid and looking over her shoulder. I really liked that we got a background on both Ford and Nora giving the characters more depth and show casing their growth through the story. Along with the serious and suspenseful parts the story is also funny with banter and of course some very spicy parts including some choice locations throughout the gym. Overall this was a great story and I could not put it down.
“I would rip my beating heart from my own chest before I ever hurt you, Nora. And I need you to know that.”
I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.
I loved this book. I received it as an arc and was so glad that I did. This is the second book of the Berserkr Gym Series. But is can be read as a stand alone if you choose.
These is a content warning of PSTD and gun violence but they are written so well that think it had to the story without being to over the top.
Ford and Nora are the sweetest. It has my favorite trope where the guy falls first and does everything to keep and care for the girl. I also love has Nora is strong and independent (even though she is running from her crazy step-brother).
This is a very fast read and does have a few great spicy scenes. B. Randall does an amazing job of writing from both Nora and Ford point of view!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Apparently abrupt endings are the writer’s style but that just makes me download the next book quicker lol. Ford is running the Beserkr Gym when a tony mystery woman comes in for one-on-one training. Nora has been moving from city to city for 5 years to escape her vigilant stalker. She’s enrolled at Berserkr to learn to fight back, knowing that one day he’ll find her again. He always does.
My favorite parts were how unpredictable Nora’s reactions could be. Ford would be bummed that she got hurt and she would be ecstatic that she learned a new skill. Beyond the fear, she has a passion for life and being with Ford nurtures that.
This was the second installment in the Berserkr Gym series and a great read. I loved the character development between Ford and Nora and anytime the guy catches feeling first, sign me up! Ford is so patient and understanding with Nora who has been on the run for years. This is a story about finding and saving yourself. I do wish there was an epilogue or the ending had been a bit longer to flush out the climax. I’m guessing we will be seeing more of Ford and Nora in the next book! Overall, a great, quick read.
Oh my goodness! So, this is my first B. Randall book and definitely will not be my last!
This story centers around boxing club owner Ford and client Nora. Nora has been on the run for years from a stalker who wants nothing more than to control her. She has been learning different forms of MMA to help in these situations.
Amazing character development and the spicy scenes were on point! Does the new training help? Does Ford fight for his heart? Ahh!
Nora and Ford's story was amazing! Everything that Nora had to deal with in her past and trying to still live her life in inspiring. I know people deal with things like this everyday and it is heartbreaking, how she ends up dealing with it and finding amazing people to have genuine relationships is amazing.
Nora is on the run and goes to Ford’s gym for self defense lessons. Ford falls for her, but Nora doesn’t plan to stay in town long and Ford is looking for long term. Nora’s past catches up to her just when she thinks she might want to stay with Ford forever. This is fast paced and suspenseful.
I know I wold have really like the story and I wold have been a big fan of Ford as MMC, if only he wasn't a manwhore on-page. I thoroughly enjoy a reformed-playboy/manwhore microtrope and this had all the potential. But there was waaaay too much of OW distraction for my liking. Also the ending was rushed and was lacking a feeling of closure, which would be welcomed in interconnected standalone book. But all in all, I liked how the suspense was build and I liked the transformation of the FMC and how she gained courage.
I really enjoyed this book, especially the characters Ford and Nora. I loved their story and connection. The only thing is I feel the ending kinda ended quickly, I love a good epilogue so not get one was a bummer :/ other then that I really enjoyed this book.
A pretty good book. I loved how these two came together. Who knew Ford was such a softy just wanting to be loved ?!🥺 I would have given this 5 stars but the ending felt super rushed and tied up neatly in a bow. 4.5 stars!!!!!
Yet another hit in the Berserkr Gym series! In this book, we get to read a common trope (woman on the run and the hero who she opens up to and falls in love with). Just like the first in the series, this book has a twist on that trope, though I can’t say what the twist is, since it’s a spoiler. I loved Ford so much. He’s funny and charming and career driven. But, he has a softer side, and he wants to fall in love, but no one seems to think he’s relationship material. And then Nora steps onto the scene. She’s been on the run for years, and Baltimore is just another stop. But unlike with the other places she’s escaped to in the past, this time, she has a reason to stay… This book is sweet with a little bit of angst, some steam, and just like the first book, we get another hot guys auction at the Berserkr Gym! I’m loving this series.
The trope of the trainer helping their client is one I haven't seen in a while and is one of my favorites because of the tension.
This is the healing story of a woman wanting to stop running from her abuser and fight him instead. The arc from where Nora starts off to the end is inspiring. The FMC faces her fears and finds her inner strength while healing from her past by learning how to trust.
Ford, the MMC, has golden retriever energy and is the emotional support anyone who has suffered trauma wants in their lives. He makes her feel not only strong and capable but also the most desirable woman in all of existence.
Dual POV's and the conflict isn't a damsel in distress with the man saving her.
The characters from the first book are sprinkled in, giving the story a homey touch by being brought back into the world the author is telling.
