Ella Wheeler Wilcox was an American author and poet.

Her best-known work was "Poems of Passion". Her most enduring work was the poem "Solitude", which contains the lines:

"Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone".

Her autobiography, "The Worlds and I", was published in 1918, a year before her death.

Some amazing poetry in this book. Ella Wheeler Wilcox writes suggestive poetry that cuts straight to the point and has no holds barred, she says a little and then Says so much.

Wonderful poetry. A lot of which is very feminist and about growing up and wanting something.

I was at a friend's and stumbled upon a tattered book by Ella...her style of writing is precise yet deep...a reason why I'm always on the lookout for anything she ever wrote. This one happens to be one good book to read anytime of the day. Her poetry is just therapeutic.

I didn’t think I could enjoy poetry. Considering the times that she lived in, Ella was pretty woke.

I’m glad to have picked up this collection. Some of my favourites include:
