This book previously was carried by Amazon, was reviewed glowingly by readers and the press (see C.W. Gusewelle listing on your web site) and subsequently was described as "out of print." This is a brand-new reissue, under the slightly revised title, The Rufus Another Autumn.
The language is fascinating and the author is local for me. Dog lovers will laugh, cry, and laugh some more in this wonderful book about an amazing dog.
Having met Mr. Gusewelle and seen so many of his documentaries, I couldn't help but hear his voice in each word. This is a lovely book, perfect for reflection on these slower summer days.
Gusewelle was a writer at the Kansas City Star back in the good old days. He could turn a phrase like no other. He wrote lovingly about his family, his pets, his pet peeves, and in this, his best dog ever, Rufus. His writing style and command of the English language makes everything he ever wrote a pleasure!!!
Though I hunted with my folks back in the day, I’m no longer a bird hunter, but I still enjoyed going along with Gusewelle and Rufus on their hunts. I’d like to share this with someone who’d enjoy those walks through the field and pasture as well.
