Loved the illustrations, but the font was way too small and hard to read. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Oggi sono qui per parlarvi di un'altra bellissima opera arrivata nelle nostre librerie.
Come sapete sono una grande amante del genere, quindi potevo mai farmelo scappare?
Assolutamente no.
The Wind in the Willows è un classico della letteratura per l'infanzia scritto da Kenneth Grahame, pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1908. Il romanzo è notevole per la sua mistura di misticismo, avventura, moralismo e cameratismo e vi hanno fatto anche diverse versioni animate.
Siamo in primavera quando Talpa sospende le pulizie per prendere aria e incontra Topo, che trascorre le sue giornate lungo la riva del fiume.
Quest'ultimo porta Talpa a fare un giro sulla sua barca a remi e si trovano così bene insieme che nei giorni successivi, Topo insegna a Talpa i segreti della navigazione.
Quando arriva l'estate, i due si trovano nei pressi del Maniero dei Rospi e decidono di fare una visita a Rospo che è davvero molto ricco e nonostante sia tanto amichevole, è egocentrico e tende a stancarsi velocemente delle cose e a fare quelli che si possono definire affari a perdere.
Tutto preso dal suo nuovo carrozzone da campeggio, Rospo sta per partire per un viaggio e persuade Ratto e Talpa ad andare con lui. Tutto sembra andare bene almeno sino a quando un automobile spaventa il loro cavallo, distruggendo il caravan e Rospo inizia a prendere una fissa per avere un auto.
Nonostante gli amici cerchino di persuaderlo a non avere tutte manie che possono metterlo anche nei guai, Rospo fa un passo falso che lo fa finire addirittura in prigione e... non vi dirò altro, dovrete leggerlo per scoprirlo.
“ Sento l’acqua del lago sciabordare lieve sulla riva mentre sono per la via o lungo grigi marciapiedi la sento nell’intimità più profonda del cuore. ”
Vidi la versione Disney animata di questa storia quando ero piccola. Mi annoiò, lo ammetto, ma rivedendolo da grande lo trovai profondo e ricco di insegnamenti che anche il libro dà, seppur la lettura sia così lenta e monotona a volte, che a un certo punto diventa difficile andare avanti. Nonostante tutto però, ho trovato la stessa sensazione di profondità e senso della vita che trovai nella versione animata.
Questa è una storia che penso dovrebbero leggere tutti, un classico da avere anche solo da collezione specialmente perché queste nuove versioni illustrate di Rizzoli sono bellissime anche visivamente, con un tratto di disegno che sembra quasi volerti parlare.

Ich bin ein großer Fan von diesen besonderen Knesebeck - Schmuckausgaben und habe schon etliche Bücher davon angesammelt.

Ich hatte noch zusätzlich die unfassbar gut gelesene Hörbuchausgabe von Harry Rowohlt auf den Ohren. Diese wundervolle Lesung hat mir so schöne Stunden
beschert, dass ich das Hörbuch ganz bestimmt noch ganz oft hören werde. In Verbindung mit Buch fühlte ich mich reich beschenkt, und kann diese Kombination jedem empfehlen.
Was die Geschichte angeht so spürte ich hinter all der Leichtigkeit doch einen Hauch von Melancholie und Schwermut die auch in den schönen Illustrationen aufgegriffen wurde.
Unsere drei Protagonisten, der Maulwurf, die Ratte und der Knöterich erleben hier jeder für sich eine persönliche Reise und Charakterentwicklung die das Buch auch
für uns Erwachsene interessant macht und für viel Gesprächsstoff sorgt.

I saw the mole and the rat as two happy homosexuals enjoying life together through the seasons. I got the impression that Graham was writing about himself and a lover through these animals. Did others get this vibe? Who was he? My guess, if I'm right, is obviously the mole who met this wonderful man who was so inviting as to share house and home with him.
I look forward to the next one which I'm going to pay more than I would have before because of my enjoyment of this.

Le vent dans les saules est vraiment un classique de la jeunesse britannique que j'affectionne tout particulièrement. Je trouve que Michel Plessix le met joliment en scène et avec beaucoup d'humour dans ce premier tome. Sous le charme, j'ai décidé de me procurer les 3 autres tomes. C'est une belle collection à lire et relire avec ses enfants!

Bardzo pięknie narysowana rzecz (kolory, kadry). Scenariusz spójny, logiczny, z niespieszna fabułą. Cudowna robota autora przekładu! Wyższa sztuka komiksu dla dzieci. No tylko, żeby urwać tom w takim momencie... zgroza!

5. This story is in animals world. Moel and Rat are good friends. They always with together and like adventures. They always try to find exciting things. My best part is in Wild Wood. Rat helped Moel which be in lost his way in the wood. That made my heart warming because that is very good to be considerate each other. This is not interesting story but it makes you a little happy, I think.

Splendido adattamento illustrato del romanzo di Kenneth Grahame! Spesso le graphic novel tratte da storie già esistenti non eccellono: a volte son semplici copie insipide, altre volte stravolgono a tal punto la storia originaria che fanno storcere il naso (per non dir peggio). Invece Michel Plessix non prende nessuna di queste due strade, ma, anzi, abbandona la terra per spiccare il volo! La sua opera non è altro se non un'esaltazione del romanzo, e un grande omaggio ai suoi protagonisti. Ho letto Il vento nei salici di Grahame anni fa, ma se non l'avessi fatto avrei sicuramente avuto il serio dubbio che la storia fosse nata con questo volume per l'armonia con cui dialoghi, racconto e illustrazioni si legano fra loro. Son sicura che l'autore, ai tempi in cui scriveva le avventure di Talpa e del folle Rospo, avesse in mente esattamente quei colori, esattamente quei paesaggi, ed esattamente quei visi buffi per i suoi personaggi!
Insomma, un adattamento che non è un adattamento, ma molto, molto di più.

Primo volume della "riduzione" a fumetti del classico per ragazzi di Kenneth Grahame. Ho messo la parola riduzione tra virgolette perchè in questo caso non ha in alcun modo un'accezione negativa.
L'operazione di Michel Plessix è curatissima, dalla caratterizzazzione dei personaggi al lavoro certosino sugli ambienti, tutto in uno stile che ci fa immergere nella campagna inglese (idealizzata) dell'ottocento.
Una favola per grandi e piccoli, con tavole che andrebbero incorniciate!
