Badger has enjoyed National Geographic Kids'Little Kids First Big Book of Bugs since he was a toddler. The content strikes a nice variety with games, facts, and, of course, great photography. This book taught my son at a young age that insects only have six legs, but arachnids have eight. #proudmom

The book goes beyond common bugs like bees and spiders to highlight unheard of wasps and random-looking bugs. Badger is enthralled with the facts, holding on to little gems of knowledge he can't wait to share.

These National Geographic Kids books are some of our favorites! Though the reading age for this one is 4-8, we have had these books for a long time because Ronan enjoyed looking at the pictures. Now that he's older, we can read some of the pages and he's really interested in them! 🐝 Some Bugs is a simple and cute educational board book about different things bugs can do.

I had to skip the spider sections, they were a bit too detailed for my arachnophobia.

Now, the rest, it gave many facts that led to many more questions by the children that I couldn’t answer. Soooo, maybe give it a pre-read so you can be prepared.

Real cute book about bugs for kids. The information is accurate and simple enough for young kids to understand without being condescending to the young reader. Photos are beautiful. Formatting definitely favours a physical book rather than a digital copy.

My son and I love these starter books that teach about different subjects. In this addition we learned about bugs. We loved the facts, pictures, and games at the end of each chapter.

This book is a fun picture book about different kinds of bugs. I would read this story to my students when we would be learning about bugs during the science block to keep them engaged and learning at the same time. The genre of this book is children's science because it gives facts about bugs.

An introduction to insects and some other creepy-crawlies. The book starts with an overview of what makes an insect an insect, examines some of the different kinds of insects by similarities, and then introduces arachnids and earthworms. Interspersed along the way are interactive games and questions for adults to ask young readers. And of course, there are photographs galore.

I love the bright photographs and the informative nature of this book. The bugs highlighted are a good mix of both exotic and common. And I liked how they separated the insects by orders for the most part. The science teacher in me was a bit upset that they called insects animals. They were doing a great job of being scientifically accurate with the classification, and then they say that like fish, birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, insects are animals. Ummm, arthropods are not part of Kingdom Animalia. Most readers and adults aren't going to care about that though. I was just a bit shocked though, National Geographic is usually very good about their science. Still a good intro ID guide for youngsters fascinated by creepy-crawlies. And filled with lots of pictures and activities that should keep kids occupied for quite a while.

This book has everything you could possibly want to know about bugs; from wasps to moths, to spiders, this book has it all. Complete with huge easy to words and bright colors throughout this book is great for kids. It will keep their attention and teach them about something they are interested in. I don't know many young kids who don't like at least one type of bug, like a ladybug, or butterfly even. This book has amazing real pictures of all the different bugs and different things that have to do with them, like eggs, nests, etc.
This book would even be good for older readers who need or want a little information about bugs. It's an easy ready with very neat sections and it is very organized so things are easy to find.
In my science class I did an insect project where I had to collect seven different types of insects. This book would have come in handy to help me discover what each insect was and learn a little more about where to find them and what their life is like.

This book is about different insects, how they live, the different species, and the many different things they do. It features insects such as butterflies, bees, wasps, beetles, ants, and more. It’s very interactive, with little activities embedded in each chapter. The book is great for young readers who enjoy bugs and are curious about what they do. I love that this book is interactive, provides very vivid pictures of many different insects, and names them all.
