Proper estate planning can protect you, your family & your assets!
Estate planning is the process of providing for the future management of your affairs during any period of incapacity and the means by which you arrange your affairs so as to maximize the value of your estate passing to your loved ones following your death.
To help you understand the estate planning process, Enodare's lawyers have put together a simple and easy to understand book on estate planning. It's called "Estate Planning Essentials".
Estate Planning Essentials is a must read for anyone not already having a comprehensive estate plan. Showing you just why you need to have a comprehensive estate plan and how you can prepare your very own estate plan yourself.
You will be introduced to some of the ways in which you can plan your estate and the devices that you can use to do so such as last wills, living wills, living trusts, powers of attorneys, healthcare directives, probate free transfers of assets and so on. You will learn about the probate process, why people are so keen to avoid probate and lots of simple methods you can actually use to do so. You will learn about reducing estate taxes and how best to provide for young beneficiaries and children.
We'll also talk to you about beneficiaries, children, disinheritance, incapacity, taxes, and much more. We will get you thinking about your own personal situation and how you would like to have your affairs organized - and by the end of the process, you will have a solid understanding of estate planning and the techniques involved.
I’m only half way through this book. Having been really impressed with the completeness of Enodares funeral planning book I was prompted to read this. What started as a journey into funeral planning has now leaded me to the areas of Wills, Trusts, Power of attorney and living wills and unfortunately taxes.
I now realise the overall importance of planning, at least from the bit I have read. The book walks you through the tasks of simple wills to complex trust to live decisions such as living wills with ease.
Everything is methodologically structured so clarity and understanding is paramount - just what I would expect from a book written by lawyers. I also like the tax section which i used to determine exactly how much I could expect to transfer to my family and friends on dying.
Worksheets are provided to leave me an actual plan of action at the end. I haven’t filled these out yet as I still have a bit to read but already the relevant sections make sense and that’s important.
Another nice piece of work from the lawyers at Endoare.
I’m just reading this at the moment and enjoying it. Having purchased Enodare's funeral planning basics and been pleasantly surprised, I decided to give Estate Planning Essentials a read. I have two young children and I wanted to at least know my options and that’s exactly what this book presents. It has all the information about Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Estate Taxes, Minors, and Guardians and so on.
The format is simple and effective and once again I’m presented with a worksheet. This enables me to quiet easily organise myself and my records and ensures that I haven’t forgotten anything. This is a massive help as I can be quiet disorganized. It does the thinking for me...
This is certainly a well written and informative book and will provide much useful information for anyone with a family or just interested in estate planning.
Very clearly written with a comprehensive overview of estate planning with up to date tax information, always a bonus. Having children, this book provided an enormous amount of information on how best to provide for their future from an estate planning perspective. From choosing beneficiaries to executors to UTMA/UGMA trusts everything was covered in an easy understandable way with several examples to convey complex situations.
The book also contains a worksheet, this simply prepares you to start creating your trust, your will or your power of attorney. It help you to gather all the details you need in one document before proceeding. Even if you choose to use an attorney, I'd recommend reading this book first, completing the worksheet and you will get a lot more out of your attorney. Think of it as the inside line!
