Retrieving Desire is the second book coming after Retrieving Love and is a really great read. I hadn’t had the chance to read the first book but that didn’t hamper my enjoyment of the characters and the plot in the second. The author did a great job of slotting in the necessary information without the reader feeling as though they were being bombarded with facts. It all flows very well.


Melia is a little spitfire of a witch and is on a mission to find her brother—nothing can stop her, although she does get a little sidetracked by the delectable wizard Mishka, but who can blame her!


It’s impossible not to fall for Mishka—he’s hot, he’s clever and he knows what he wants in and out of the bedroom. When they get together, sparks fly— literally. I adored all the layers of his and Melia’s personalities and became totally invested in the outcome of the story.


The setting, Chicago, is perfect for the couple’s journey. Eloquently described, I felt I was there, immersed in an urban underworld seeped in magic and mystery.


BEST BITS: “The wizard had way more than his fair share of sexual appeal and the bastard knew it.” – Mmm, I’ve met men like that before; you just gotta love ‘em!


The whole scene in the club, Melia’s dancing in the cage to tucking themselves away, sort of out of sight, and getting down and dirty. Fabulous!


“He ordered two orgasms.”


“A cock-sucking cowboy please.”


VERDICT: A hot cover, a great story and fab characters which have made me determined first of all to getting hold of a copy Retrieving Love and then to seek out more of this talented author’s work.

The second novel in the Urban Seductions series continues it’s thrilling action packed entertainment. The author’s fascinating world of magic and captivating characters continues to heat up the pages and with a few surprises along the way, I was totally caught up in the story and really wasn’t ready for it to come to end, therefore I can’t wait to read the next one, although if it hotter than this one I might spontaneously combust.
