1. Clean easy to update website design/structure.
2. Good usability in the design - and all that implies.
3. Fast loading 'light' web pages.
4. Intelligent use of web technology - using Flash when it makes sense not because you want a 'cool' intro!
5. The websites ability to convey the meaning/message of the website quickly if not instantly.

As was one of the very first graphic designers turned web designers, my company, Brazil Design Group designed the very first Pyramid Ales brewery web site in 1996. The project was done in collaboration and under the leadership of creative director, Larry Asher of ad agency, Worker Bees in Seattle, WA. You might enjoy this if you want a peek back into the early days of the Internet.
