Japan was hit hard by the earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011. Thousands dead, hundreds of thousands displaced, and the humanitarian crisis has only just started to take shape.
"Sendai Calling" is a short story about the impact of disaster, and the effects it has on those waiting for a fateful call. It is a work of fiction, pieced together out of little snatches of real experiences from Japan in the first few days of the tragedy.
