Steve loves the thrill of a win; whether it be betting on the dogs or. To get by he steals from his family, sells his belongings, does homework for other kids or shoplifts. One day while about to shoplift, a girl whispers in his ear that he has been seen and together they make their escape. Steve wants to repay her kindness and an opportunity presents itself about a week later. Emma is involved in an abusive relationship and Steve thinks he can help. Together they help one another and for awhile Steve lives an honest life. His good turn doesn't last and thinking he is on a lucky streak again, he reverts to gambling. Who will he meet this time and how will it change him?
