There is so much information in this book that is just becoming mainstream "news" now that I remember it daily. The part about evaluating claims is really the best advice ever written when it comes to the "miracles" pushed on the internet: If whatever you're being told hasn't been supported by multiple double blind trials, it's probably not really true.
I read this book over 20 years ago and it was talking about calorie restriction, anti-oxidants, and bioflavanoids way back then. I think it's probably still worth reading.
This book was written by two geniuses long before the popular "Transhumanist," movement in the USA. Practical and useful information interspersed with humor, Objectivism, & political satire. The illustrations lend to the overall flavor of a book that promotes Futurism with Life-Extension as its primary goal. Durk & Sandy actually experimented on themselves with megadoses of vitamins, amino acids, & pharmaceuticals. Much of what is in this book is just coming to light now. If you don't read this book & you're a Life-Extensionist you're going to be behind the curve for sure & that's not a place you wish to be if you're about extending your life here on earth.

Despite it's age, the book is well worth reviewing. Few things have changed since Durk and Sandy wrote this excellent book. What what gains is a more accurate understanding of how medicine is applied, what a doctor is and how a doctor prescribes medicines.
