Auditing and Assurance An Integrated Approach presents an integrated concepts approach that shows readers the auditing process from start to finish. This text prepares readers for real-world audit decision making by using illustrative examples of key audit decisions, with an emphasis on audit planning, risk assessment processes and collecting and evaluating evidence in response to risks.
The fourteenth edition includes coverage of PCAOB Auditing Standards up through AS 15 (the PCAOB’s Risk Assessment Standards) , new standards related to auditor responsibilities related to supplementary information included in financial statements (SAS Nos. 119 and 120), and the most up-to-date content in the dynamic auditing environment.
Here is the shortest way to approach to basic procedure of auditing and assurance services. Unlike F8 - ACCA lecture, the content of audit can be easily found on this book by a detailed, logical way of careful explanation and specific descriptions.
You will have a comprehensive overview of making an auditing process. Nevertheless, the author do help beginners plan each charted course and each careful step along the byway.
Practically, the procedure described in the book is essential for each auditor in order to have a right thinking about what an auditor need to do, and through it all, it will be defining the extension of the work and its importance in the auditing plan.
The book goes over the steps in the auditing process. Still would recommend having an instructor teach you through the book rather than just read it on your own. Some parts can be a bit vague for specific ways to calculate how you should choose to take a sample of documents to review. Overall, as a book meant specifically to teach and in comparison to other textbooks Ive had for auditing & accounting, its pretty good.
