Promyse Fitzgerald had made herself a new life and a new home. Far away in Midas, Wyoming so that Lieutenant Zane Wakefield couldn’t find her. He was a military man, and she could deal with that. What she couldn’t deal with was the secrets and the lies to cover up what he did for the military. So when she ran, she gave up all traces of her old life and embraced the new. It brought her peace and security until there was knock on her door at midnight and there stood the man who plagued her dreams. From the time she let him in, his green eyes drew him in. Everything came flooding back, the yearning and the intense need for the man that made her heart ache.
Lieutenant Wakefield was in trouble, and there was only one person he could trust, and that was Promyse. His boss sent him away until they could clear his name and prove someone was trying to destroy the unit from the inside out. She left in the middle of the night, but he always knew where she was. How could he not? He was part of the Army Beasts, and his job was to find people who didn’t want to be found. He could understand why she disappeared. His life was a difficult one. But now he was on the run for something he didn’t do, and she was his safe haven. But could the woman he never stopped loving still be his when she learned his true nature?
I wanted to like this one more, I really did. But it took me two days to get through a less than 200-page book so that is saying a lot. I had to force myself to continue so I could use this for a challenge.
Anyway, I liked the premise of the story. I thought the characters were decent. The execution left something to be desired for me. The writing wasn't the greatest and the book needed an editor pretty badly.
I would have given this *3 STARS* but had to knock off a star for editing. Even some of the sex scenes had spelling errors and that's just a crime. You have to make sure the naughty bits are right!
I will most like not continue with this series. This is my first experience with the author as well. I think I will give her another try though. I won't write off anyone just off of one experience.
Surprisingly it was a very good book. I expected it to suck when I read the title. But was pleasantly surprised. Her use of the characters in the military was excellent. Well written.
Spicy level is off the charts! i needed a cold shower after that once scene... you'll know what i mean when you get there. The plot was also pretty good. i did figure it out, but tbh i was surprised i was right. but for me this was more about the spice and relationship than the mystery and action. i would put romance as the main genre. action as the secondary genre.
A hot erotic interracial military romance with a paranormal theme: Promyse Fitzgerald and Zane Wakefield are former lovers who find themselves back together after Zane has been framed for murder and on the run in order to stay a live and clear Zane's name.... In short a time Promyse and Zane must find a way to work out their differences that caused their relationship to fall apart before they fall to something worse then a lack of trust and a misunderstanding!
This was an awesome read filled with adventure, erotica, and intrigue. The Army Beasts Series holds a special place in my heart because of my own Army Beast who is in the trenches of Afghanistan rightnow fighting his way back home. I love the way Dahlia Rose pays tribute to our men and women in uniform while taking her fans to new heights and other places through the wonderful stories she writes.
i waited to purchase army beast 1 and 2 together. i'm happy they both set there differences a side to be come one in spirit. i like how the team is swore to secrecy about their life as shifter.
This was an interesting take on the members of an Army special forces group! Zane, a member, was the focus with there being a revenge plot against him and him having to go into hiding. He did by going after his girlfriend who got mad with him and moved away.
The plot of this story had so much going for it but due to the length of this book it let the book down.
I really liked the hero and heroine but I needed more time and interaction with them, everything seemed to be resolved within pages, all the issues as a couple just got forgiven - way too easy. The villain in the story was an interesting angle and could have been explored more but again not enough time was spent setting up the background and building that part of the story.
I did not like the threesome part of this story, I wish it was not put in there. I needed to know more about Zander, the who,the when and the how was missing and I think that should have been explained even a little bit, as I know Zander's book is next which will reveal all but this left me felling like I was missing a huge part of this story.
This was an okay read for me would I continue the series, yes, as I liked the writing style and I think the story is interesting. I just like a little more meat to my stories.
The story is great, but the formatting is very poor. There are wrong words used, for instance "fir" instead of "fur". She instead of he and vice versa. These spelling mistakes would not be picked up by a plain spell check by a computer. No full stops (maybe there is a sentence missing?), dots and commas next to each other. It looks like someone started editing the book and gave up half way through. This so distracted from the actual story. That is why it only gets 3 stars from me.
