Taking Back His Widow

Rate this book
Livinia Jacobs grudgingly ran from the love of her life with his child in her womb and into the arms of another man. She never thought she'd see Dean Stone again. Eleven years later, she finds herself widowed in a picturesque little coastal town and her past has come back to haunt her. Livinia was completely aware of her lack of control in Dean's presence. Heck, that was half the attraction in the first place, but her secret kept her feet firmly on the ground and her heart guarded from the once youthful dream of a future with him. Dean forgot the most important thing of all about Livinia-she was his addiction. Ten minutes with her and he craved her touch again, wanted to hold her, to feel her soft naked skin against his, to kiss those supple, pink lips. Hell, he wanted her period. Can he forgive her and prove he's no longer the scared boy he once was, but the man she needed him to be-a man she could trust with her heart, no matter the sacrifice?

This is where normally people write professional bio's in the third person. I don't do normal well, so here is some quick bits off the top of my head.
***
I'm an addict to all things awesome, books, coffee, anything series, coffee, music and lets not forget coffee!
People call me Batman-okay so I started that rumour and once spread means it's got to be true right.
Proud Australian who wishes there wasn't such a huge pond between me and my friends and readers- USA especially.
Why I write? Because I love reading and have been extremely lucky in life to experience true love. At 16 I met my now husband and since had our wonderful children known as 'The Lollies.'
I'm not afraid to say my writing gets better with every book so keep reading and growing with me. I am afraid of sharks, snakes, clowns, spiders or anything that wants to fly at my face or crawl near me...with the exception of maybe a ladybug. They're pretty innocent until proven otherwise.
I write Young (YA) love novels, New Adult (NA) and contemporary romance because lets face it, I'm a genre whore and if I had the imagination I'd write paranormal and more,
Yes I have a day job and write because I like stuff and stuff costs money. Dang it!
So I keep writing and run this site and An Indie Affair for readers because one day I'll earn enough to write full time, be able to travel, buy lots of stuff for me and my girls because they love stuff too & provide for hubs who deserves the freaking world for putting up with such a nutty dreamer like me.

Happy reading

I really did love this book. It is super sweet. It does have some suspense in there a few times. All I know is it is 2am and I just finished. So clearly it had me hooked. One of those feel good romances, like an awesome chick flick.

Livinia has built a good life for herself. Though she still misses her dead husband, she has supportive friends, a good job, and, above all, her ten-year-old son, Lucas, whom she loves more than anything. Then Lucas' father, Dean returns. Dean and Lucas don't know about each other, and Livinia wants to keep it that way, but the passion Dean and Liviania still have for one another cannot be suppressed. Worse, Dean can't keep himself from publicly embarrassing Livinia, thus earning for himself the hatred of the townspeople. Then Lucas, who thinks Dean is threatening his mother, vandalizes Dean's apartment, which terrifies Livinia.

Why does love have to be so complicated?

Set in rural Australia, Taking Back His Widow, paints a picture of how difficult it is for two people with genuine passion and love to get back together. Do they succeed? I won't tell.

On a cold night, with a warm Afghan and a box of chocolates, this story shows how wonderful love can be if men stop being jerks.

This was a great story. What a selfless person Livinia is! She made such a difficult decision for herself and her unborn child 11 years ago. She made a life for herself. She never expected to see Dean again, but an assignment brings him to her town. And brings him face to face with the son he never knew about. It's obvious that neither one really got over the other, but Livinia tries very hard to fight the attraction. Especially because she's not sure of his intentions for her son. Sparks fly (100% supported by the son who is happy to have a father, after the man he knew as his father died when he was two), and love is rekindled, but the one thing that kept them apart eleven years ago conspires to be the same thing to rip them apart this time. This is one of those where I wanted the characters to stop jumping to conclusions and just TALK to each other! But at the same time, I can see how it might have been difficult. Especially when it came to Dean's mother. The bitch! Manipulative, selfish bitch! Yeah, I didn't like her. :-)

A sweet romantic book. Loved the story, the characters, the setting, and of course... the deliciously happy ending. Perfect for a quick pick me up read.
