Highly paced issues with a lot of twist and turns. We get some closure on the Women of Prey vs Harley arc, we find out what Atom has been up to, we see Superman and Wonder Woman team up, and explosive finale that'll leave you wanting more. This is hands down one of the best DC comics out right now.

There are some seriously creepy images in this issue. Throw in a side of depressingly sad moments and it's a good read for those of us that enjoy a good horror story.

Alright for the genre. Original work for a DC super-heroes comic. Maybe not the best one so far but still had me intrigue and expecting the next one. It feel like the author has been given a large DC sandbox and that he came crazy playing with it! More or less out of the DC universe so he can do whatever he likes!

WHAT?! Okay first off holy false advertising, why even put easy company on the cover of the issue, lol, but there is no chance I am believing anything they are implying at the end of this book until I SEE the bodies personally. We jump into this book and change our perspective over to Washington where Captain atom and Amanda Waller are overseeing Ray Palmer’s investigation of the virus to try and defeat it from a sub atomic level…except they never heard back from him, so they decided to move to the next stage of the plan…using their nuclear man to eradicate as many forces as possible. Except there is a reason they never saw the atom again, because he latched onto and dug into the heart of the nuclear man to override his life from within. The anti life virus now has captain atom…

Elsewhere, Superman returns to the daily planet with his mom in hand giving what is left of their family a moment to mourn. The daily planet is now setup and ready to broadcast to all radios and Superman is ready to get back out there to continue helping people…but Dinah and Ollie are against it, he is their biggest asset and they can’t have the risk of him looking at a screen and becoming infected. Except Superman explains there is no current risk of that…as he’s been using his xray vision from the moment he realized the way the infection was spread. Lois starts the broadcast, sending out a message of hope to everyone who is left. All of the survivors, what is left of the teen titans (beast boy and Cassie apparently), to Hawkgirl, and even to some villains like Lex Luthor. All assuring them that they are fighting and to come to the daily planet if they can. This message reached across the world and it even reached paradise island where Mera has also gone to seek refuge. Hippolyta welcomed her with open arms anger she lost her kingdom and upon hearing the message Diana decided to head back to Metropolis to help with the fight. Dinah and Clark found Flash and amid Flash in keystone city, hiding away as batman was one of the first to call them as they cannot have infected speedsters running around. Luckily this group can securely transfer them.

On the absolute flip side Ivy provides a major assist in killing the birds of prey with her vibes to protect Harley, promising that the green will protect them. Further proof that Unkillables #1 should not be read before this issue, lol. But back at the daily planet suddenly the survivors started to hear something like thunder…and it’s not black lightning’s daughter…instead it is the Giganta undead, stomping towards the building ready to rip it down. The heroes immediately start fighting back and even Alfred shows up just in time to launch some missiles at her from the batwing only to end up knocked from the sky! Damian freaked out for a moment before Dinah showed back up to safely catch the batwing, opening the door for Superman to smash giant to the ground. At that exact same moment Diana arrived back in metropolis read to come crashing down to kill Giganta…except Superman stopped her at the last moment as he still has some hope they can be saved. But that hope is taken away moments later as Giganta’s head is blown apart by one of cyborg’s blasts…he is here to talk. But not before a super emotional scene where Damian and Alfred reunite, allowing Alfred to hand over Batman’s gift to Damian…his own bat suit and mention of how proud Bruce is of him, how worthy he is of the suit, and how much he regretted not saying that everyday.

As I wipe the tears from my eyes, Thunder hands out a temporary solution for avoiding screens to the heroes…custom made contact lenses to blur the world. Minor headache is better than being a zombie…but that’s where cyborg corrects them. They are not zombies, they are an extension of the anti life equation trying to spread death and cut out all life. They can search for and sense life so they cannot stay here. But suddenly their conversation is interrupted by Hawkgirl falling out of the sky with her wings on fire. Diana is able to catch her as Hawkgirl explains Captain atom turned and he is going to blow up. This causes Superman and wonder wk an to rush as fast as they can over to Washington DC where they each take an arm of Captain atom to lead him as far away as possible before he blows. But even they couldn’t get very far before the nuclear ball of nothingness went off, crumbling cities in its path and apparently reaching metropolis. The issue ends with black lighting holding his daughters closely as their whole world is consumed by nothing…

Knocked out the first 4 issues of DCeased today and will work on the rest on Friday. What a great idea and DC came thru and made this series into a winner. Sure, Marvel has been doing zombies/superheroes for awhile, but I am really liking the DC approach. What got me hooked was borrowing the first two issues of DCeased: The Unkillables from my grown up son. Nothing but zombie action and I then made sure to borrow his DCeased collection.

Oh man. Really compelling twisting of the knife here at the end, and great moments along the way.

Cyborg's appearance in this comic is a panel that I could easily be put off by for the sheer gnarliness of it, but I think it just works (like so much of the rest of the art). Sometimes I find excessive gore to be pretty annoying, but it doesn't feel any more graphic than it needs to be.

Tom Taylor has got such a good handle on all the multiple storylines. Everything feels organic, and like it's all happening at the same time. Which it should.

I gotta say, though, the Sgt. Rock cover was a cheat!

Fantastically ghoulish and I loved it.
Not every ending is a happy one, the good guy doesn't always have to get the girl!
It was pretty dark for a comic, certainly puts the graphic into graphic novel.

A wider range of characters come into the story, be they infected or fighting against the infection, and somehow, things are even more fraught than before. This is thrilling stuff, and I'm sad that it's nearly over.

This has been my favorite issue in this arc. Maybe because it seems lighter-hearted than the rest, and there are plenty of witty lines that made my laugh out loud.

Love the zombie covers by Francesco Matina and the horror movie covers by Yasmine Putri. The story has lost its luster from issue #1.

Constantly surprising how something like this can still have sentimental moments. Cyborg also had something cool to do.

8.5 good
Fast paced issue went un a bang. Its epic got high stakes and is a blast to read. Tom Taylor writes one of the best zombie.comics and is outstanding. The art is exceptional and the colouring was amazing. The comic felt very lively. The only down fall for me was that it felt too fast. Overall a great book to read in a short time.

Aw, man. Coming off of the superb last issue, just when “DCeased” should be ramping up towards its big conclusion, issue #4 comes along to take some of the wind out of the miniseries’ sails. In my opinion, “DCeased” has always worked best when writer Tom Taylor focuses on the smaller moments but he’s going for broke with this latest installment. All the non-zombie heroes have joined forces in an attempt to prevent an explosive new threat from literally vaporizing whole cities off the map. Epic? You bet. Kinda tired and generic for the superhero genre? Sorry, but... yeah. Artist Trevor Hairsine is clearly relishing the chance to illustrate mass destruction but the issue left me cold. Right when “DCeased” should be firing on all cylinders, the series seems to be sputtering along, disjointed and erratic. Alright, Taylor, there’s two more issues left for you to turn this sucker around.

Whoever is narrating these is starting to get in my nerves with all the grandeur, and it doesn't feel quite personal yet, but I know this is still the setup phase.
