Being the best in her field doesn't seem to help famously successful sex therapist, Dr. Regina Logan, who manages to fix everyone’s love life but her own. Men won't date her. Her brutal honesty about physical matters intimidates most males. It also doesn’t help her love life that the press publishes every dating move she makes. Though she knows her negative publicity is the biggest problem, Regina thinks it's still ironic for a 47 yr old woman to be so knowledgeable about pleasing a man when there’s no lover in her life to benefit. Since most men have a tendency to run away before making it as far as her bed, it is definitely no surprise to Regina when "nice guy" Ben Kaiser rejects her after discovering her identity. But it still hurts. Ben’s kisses promise fulfillment of every fantasy she’s ever had, but no matter how great he is, Regina would be the first to admit there’s no room in her crazy public life for someone as nice as Ben.
After losing his wife to a two-year battle with cancer, 50 yr old widower, successful CEO, and all around nice guy, Ben Kaiser, is ready to start dating again. At a charity fundraiser, he takes a risk and asks a beautiful woman to dance. Ben’s attraction to the woman is so compelling he ends up dragging her outside to a secluded garden for a make-out session worthy of his teenage years. Thrilled to find such attraction at his age, Ben is later shocked to discover the woman he’s been kissing so passionately is the notorious Dr. Regina Logan. Her full-out responses to his lovemaking have Ben putting his hands on her every chance he gets, and when Ben tries to run away, he doesn't get very far before deciding he's probably spent too much time in his life being nice. Still, the negative publicity generated by her notorious career requires them to keep their relationship hidden to protect Ben's reputation and business. After deciding he wants to marry Regina, keeping the way they feel about each other a secret ends up being something Ben just can't be nice about.
I am an active dreamer and find writing to be the best way to use my creativity. Needing to satisfy both sides of my brain, I have become a cross-genre author of contemporary, romantic comedy, fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal romances.
I feel blessed that my books appear on bestseller lists for humor, romantic comedy, space opera, and more. I crave laughter from all my readers and focus my attention on making that happen as often as possible.
I love to hear from anyone who has read my books. Each reader is a hero or heroine to me. I am inspired by you.
This author is quickly becoming a fav of mine. After reading Dating A Cougar Never Too Late Series was curious to read about Alexa's friends, and Regina's story was just as good as Alexa's if not better. Regina really wasn't what I expected her to be, she was even better. She's a strong confident woman who is established in her profession who has a hard time staying in relationships because she is a sex therapist. Ben was her total match. Successful in his own right, but confident enough to handle being with her. I love these characters. They live thei life to the fullest in their firths and fifties, it is really refreshing to read. This book also had many funny moments, it was really hard to put down. Can't way to read the next book in the series.
It is always so much fun when you are no longer in your twenties, to read a love story that are about women in their later years. I refuse to say middle age, that just would not describe the women in this book. They have more zest for life than most twenty year olds! It is ultimately a beautiful story that teaches us that even if you are in your forties or even fifties you can still dream about happily ever after! I enjoyed the author's easy way of writing, it almost felt like being part of the lives of these incrdible women!
Renowned sex therapist, Dr. Regina Logan, has a way about her that makes the world take notice. She can't understand way men won't date her. Her brutal honesty and vast knowledge on sex makes her a dream and a nightmare. She can fix issues with others but can't seem to get around these facts. Oh yeah and whom ever she dates will end up in the public eye. Most men run the other way when the know Regina will be around, but that changes one night when Ben Kaiser not only dances with her but kisses her passionately. The problem was that he had no idea who she was at the time. Now that he does things take a big turn.
I loved this book! This is the second in the series the 1st being a free read, I had to pay for this and the rest of the series and I am not disappointed!
This book follows Regina and Ben, it is fast pased and filled with brilliant humour, sex and a brilliant love story. Each book follows one couple specifically but through you get to find out how the other couples in the story are getting on which I think is great!
*I got a free ARC of this book from Manic Readers in exchange of an honest review*
This book was fun! Regina was so more complex than she seemed like in Dating a Cougar and I liked Ben a lot as well. They had a very tumultuous courtship - if you can call it that - because Regina was always followed by reporters when she was with a man.
It was in the quiet moments of this book where I really fell in love. There are lots of wonderful, over-the-top moments of silly and spice that left me gasping for breath, for very different reasons. And yet, it was in the simple moments of camaraderie between friends, family, and new or would-be lovers where my heart engaged with these characters. I loved how Ben’s family supported him through everything, because that could have gone so very differently. I adored Regina’s fearless, take-no-crap attitude, but it hurt my heart to see how she had to use it as a shield against idiots. I have gone and fallen irrevocably in love with this cast of characters and can’t wait to read more about them.
What a great book!! So romantic, so sexy, so funny, so real! Such a hot couple! I ENJOYED THIS book so much I kept thinking how lucky I was to accidentally come across this author! This is the third book I have read by her and I am ecstatic that there are many more ahead to read. It's so refreshing to read books about older couples who still have passion and sexuality in their lives. This is a truly a beautiful love story filled with so much love, friendship and Ah moments!!! Read this book and you will be hooked on her books! Guaranteed!
Too long a read and it could've been shorter if the author focused on Ben and Regina's relationship, instead we get a bunch of info about other characters I'm pretty sure has their own book.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, DATING DR NOTORIOUS. Regina and Ben are really fabulous characters. Regina’s friends and Ben’s family are amazing, too. Rated R.
Really enjoying this series so far. It isn't hallmark love stories, it's a great mix of sweet and spice, with a fierce bond of best girlfriends in different stages in life.
Title: Dating Dr. Notorious Series Name: Never Too Late #2 Author:Donna McDonald Genre: Golden Age Romance Alternating POV’s
Dating Dr. Notorious book #2 in the Never Too Late series by Donna McDonald was a great 5 star read. Romance, Hot Alpha
It had been just another erotic dream. And she didn’t even get to the good part because the damn hot flash had woke her up first.
What a start to a great book, hot and steamy. This is Regina and Ben’s story.
I have to say that I really liked Regina’s favorite male, her metallic baby blue Porsche. Regina is a sex therapist who helps everyone else but herself, until she meets Ben that is. Ben is a 50 year old CEO who is getting back into the dating scene after the death of his wife.
With encouragement from his family Ben attends an event at the country club. When Ben sees Regina he has an instant attraction to her. Regina has the same reaction. They have a dance that turns into a makeout session in the garden. When Ben finds out who she is he is mortified, which really hurts Regina. Regina’s friend Lauren provides moral support and tries to help her understand Ben’s reaction.
“How about you grab your balls and try for a real answer? Or are you afraid to speak your mind about what you think?”
Regina finds Ben waiting for her in the parking lot and they give in slightly to their attraction before Regina comes to her senses and leaves. Of course Ben was correct in knowing the rumor mill would be working overtime on his makeout session with Regina at the party.
Ben ends up meeting with Lauren to try and get a better understanding of who Regina is and to discuss his actions. “You are never, ever going to bed Regina without bedding Dr. Logan as well” Lauren gives Ben some information on where to find Regina the next evening, she has also been sneaky and tricked Lauren into coming to the restaurant.
Ben and Regina finally give into their carnal attraction and it was hot. “Are you afraid of my size?” After their night together Ben can’t get enough of Regina.
Of course the media follows Regina around and there is a possibility that it could affect Ben’s reputation and business. Ben realizes that he has spent too much time being nice, he is finally going to live for his happiness. When Ben finds himself being asked to resign as CEO of his company he decides to do a TV interview. “Ben, “she whispered, “you have no idea what you just brought down on your head.”
Thank you Donna McDonald for a great read. You captured me right from the beginning. I loved the secondary characters, they added a great element to the story. There is of course a HEA with no cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see what is coming next in the Never too Late series.
AudioBook Review: Stars Overall: 3 Narration 3 Story 3
The return of the "not 20 something romance" story continues with Dating Dr. Notorious. In this story, McDonald brings us Regina, a famous / infamous sex therapist a la Dr. Ruth. She isn't speaking from experience though, at least not current and present experience, not having much success with dating in her own life. I enjoyed Regina. with her obsession with Henry, her Porsche, and the clever way that McDonald used the sexually loaded phrases to describe Henry from Regina's point of view, feeling much like she should be writing advertising copy.
When Ben spots Regina at a charity event, he begins to feel stirrings that had long been dormant, even though he had been contemplating HOW to return to the dating game after the death of his wife. These two are clearly attracted to one another, even with the fear of Regina's greater experience. It was cute to watch them both struggle with their own demons and insecurities, and discover how to come together, in all senses of the word.
Narration in this version is again provided by Anne Johnstonbrown and while it again took some time for her performance to warm up and settle into the story without adding unnecessary pauses and odd hesitations. She did use appropriate changes in tone and patois to present the characters in a way that felt both normal and appropriate, although there were a couple of elements that kept me from losing myself in her narration. The first is already mentioned: odd pauses and hesitations with emphasis in places that just felt wrong. Although I have not read the text, grammatically none of these pauses worked. My more important issue was in the quality of the recording. I listened on 3 different devices, with varied headphones and speakers, and there was a subtle but persistent echo throughout the story from more pronounced to subtle, it sounded as if the story was recorded in a cave.
This is a fairly predictable with a twist romance, if you want a spicy read that has heart, life and isn't about a 20 something finding her way - this is a good choice.
I received an AudioBook copy of the title via AudioBook Jukebox for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
If college age romances are call New Adult what would late 40s to early 50s be called, Old Adult? LOL
The Narration:
Anne Johnstonbrown does an ok job with the narration but her voice was a little off putting because it sounded too mature. Yeah sure the characters are knocking on the big 5-0 door but they are sexy men and women and I feel like Anne’s voice would be better suited for a sweet romance instead of a hot romance. It was almost like listening to my grandmother reading the book to me and it took me out of the hot moments.
What I liked:
I love Regina. She’s a sex therapist and that is very plan spoken. Anyone that shouts “holy shit” when she sees that the man she’s about to sleep with is well-endowed, is fun in my book. I like that Donna McDonald shows women in their mid to late forties can still be sexy and looking for a HEA. It’s refreshing to read a romance in a different age group than me, that’s not YA or NA. I’m in my 30s and it’s nice to think that when I hit my 40s that I can still be dirty like the gals are. LOL
What I didn’t like:
The word notorious was used WAY TOO MANY times. If I heard it once I heard it a thousand times. Sure the word is in the title, Dating Dr. Notorious but come on. Who really talks about themselves and friends as being notorious? Try using some other words like infamous, scandalous, well-known, etc. There’s using a keyword from the book title then theirs beating someone over the head with it.
Will I continue this series:
Yes. Fun and flirty romance series but best read. I can’t wait to see the uptight, Lauren get her own HEA in book 3, Dating A Saint. But I’ll be reading it instead listening to the audio.

Ok I really enjoyed this book overall, the editing/typos left a lot to be desired but past that, the story was good and so were the characters. There were some foolish areas of the story, like Regina and her reactions to some things or Ben and his reaction to finding out who Regina was after they'd already made out. Still this was a good read. I may be not be in their age bracket, but I love reading about these late 40-50ish women and men finding love when they least expect it. I LOVED how Regina and Ben met, how instantly they were so into and attracted to one another that they were necking in the dark like teenagers before they new each others names. There was something sexy about their connection in the way they were drawn to one another, and how despite them thinking it would never work between them they couldn't stay away from the other!! Regina was unapologetically brash and to the point (my favorite type of gal) and Ben, despite being a nice guy, couldn't hold back his basic alpha male tendencies when it came to possessing Regina and proving her to her exactly who the 'man' was! I mean seriously?! How sexy is that, to have a man who is so desperate to possess you that he is damn willing to tackle you and take you down in public just so you know who you belong to in the end!!!!! SEXY! So yeah, if you cant tell, I suggest this 2nd book in the series to anyone, it's just a feel good story about it never being too late to find the person you were really meant to be with!!!!
I love this series. I actually have the 3 books as audio books and love listening to all the high jinx these ladies find themselves in. We have a 50 year old, a 46? year old and a 42 year old.
Book 2 stars Ms. Regina Logan. She is 46 years young and just can not seem to find a man that is willing to stick around long enough to do the deed. The problem??? She is a sex therapist....and not just any therapist either, she is a world widely known therapist. She does tv spots, lectures, you name it, she's probably done it.
What she doesn't expect is to be at a party and see a man across the room that makes her heart pound and her panties wet. That man was none other than Ben. When he looked up and saw her, he was done for, he crossed the room, grabbed her for a dance then led her outside. Sparks flew between these two. But when he found out the woman he had in his arms was none other than the Notorious Dr. Logan, he felt a rush of panic and high tailed it outta there.
This story tells us the story of how Regina and Ben managed to finally get their HEA. It is one roller coaster ride after another. Great story line, great characters, awesome descriptions to details and fantastic dialogue between characters.
Regina is the sexy, older, sex therapist who hasn't had any luck of her own with men. Apparently, most men are intimidated by a strong woman who speaks her mind and is an expert on sex and relationships.
Ben is the hot widower who is finally ready to get back into the dating game so he can find someone new to live with for the rest of his life.
When Ben spots Regina from across the room, he feels an immediate attraction that he isn't afraid to pursue. Unfortunately, the problems begin when Ben's reputation is under fire because of his association with the notorious sex therapist. So, does Ben have the balls to handle the pressure or will he run scared like every other man in Regina's past?
If you are interested in finding out and enjoy a romance that shows it is never too late for sex, romance, and an everlasting love...then this is the book for you!
What a wonderfully insightful, quirky, sexy, and fun read!
It can be a lonely life for a woman who earns her living helping others discover and live the most sensual and sexually satisfied life.
Why can't Dr. Regina get lucky in experiencing great sex? Because her sex goddess radar had been jaded due to all the disappointments she had to endure. Dr. Regina does not fake the O--my kind of woman!
Along comes 50-year old widower Ben. He's been mourning the loss of his best friend and great love. He's shocked that his body even remembers what desire and plain old LUST feels like. But, he can't help himself... And, Dr. Regina can barely stand up to the sensual assault of her senses that Ben unleashes on her.
Obviously both Dr. Regina and Ben have been starving for each other and they are wary of the intensity of their lust for each other. Whew!!!
I liked everything about these two, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the F-bomb free sexplay descriptions of their moments together.
I also appreciated the references to their age and the considerations and adjustments they were willing to make to enjoy each others' quirks and their ageing bodies and libidos.
Donna, I loved this book as much as your other ones. This story centers on Regina. the sex therapist, and Ben a CEO of a major corporation. Ben had lost his wife six months before to an advanced cancer. He was her care giver for two years watching as she wasted away. As he attends a benefit he sees a beautiful redhead and he asks her to dance, he is so drawn to her he walks her in the garden and kisses her. Then enters Lauren and ruins the moment when he finds out who she is. He laters tries to tell her he is sorry for his reaction, but she runs away. Later they met again, but start sneaking around so the newspapers don't find out. Read this story, it is great and the romance between these two is intense. A great read
This book had me rolling! I knew from reading the first in this series that I would love Regina's book and Donna didn't disappoint. Regina and Ben are a great couple and their story is a bit exciting! Ben is tired of being the NICE guy and Regina is trying every way in the world to keep the press off his back. But they catch wind of it anyways. I mean sheesh they can't even go on one date without problems. So when Ben's work family comes up with a solution that will not only let get his company off the hook but will give Ben the notorious rep he wants, he jumps at it. Regina isn't on board at all until Ben does a TV interview and just spills the beans. I laughed so hard over Regina flipping out over the lady touching him. Great job Donna. On to Lauren and Jim's story!
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobooks of this title.
Love this author's work. The characters are real and the situations plausible. When Ben Kaiser glimpses a woman across the room, instant chemistry of attraction compels him to pursue her. Asking for a dance, which leads to red hot kisses, even before he knows her name. Oh, the moment of shock, when Ben finds out that the women is the notorious Dr Regina Logan, Sex therapist. Off course, Ben's initial reaction, to this information causes Regina heartache. They sort things out, but the difficulties are not just for two people attracted to each other. Yes, l have enjoyed this book and recommend this series to any reader.
So implausible it's ridiculous. In the first part, the actions of the Ben, though supposedly a "nice guy," give me the creeps. Regina is portrayed as a strong, smart, mature women then does things that are extremely weak and just plain stupid. Other than the purely physical instant attraction between the two, they're terrible together and extremely rude to each other. I don't mind alpha males and strong females hooking up and working through some drama, but I just don't buy it in this one. Another big problem for me is the writing style, which is less than polished, and I'm being polite about it. Soon after the first sex episode I couldn't take any more. DNF at 26% read.
This book was such an enjoyable read. My favourite of the whole series. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy strong, mature, accomplished women and men who despite their age still experience the same highs and lows of love, relationships, families and careers. This is one author I'm definitely going to read in the future.
I WANT TO SAY THAT DR. NOTORIOUS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS. BUT ALL OF THEM ARE MY FAV'S. ;> I LIKE READING THIS SERIES BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD WHILE I'M READING THEN THAT FEELING STAYS WITH ME. SIGH!! WHENEVER I THINK ABOUT IT HAPPENS. THIS SERIES WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF MY FAVORITES. ;>
Really liked this book! I liked the first installment in the series, but this one was even more fun. I think the interweaving story lines provide you with updates and teasers for other characters. The romance is fun, but not smutty. Have to say I like older characters that have identities, jobs and don't get entirely consumed by swoons and blushes. Those can be fun, but variety is nice.
As much as I wanted to give this book more stars, I can't. The premise didn't make sense to me. The characters were good, the story moved quickly but I couldn't wrap my mind around why they were hounded by the media and his subsequent actions. I will read another book by this author but I think I will skip this series, at least for now.
