Eastern Structures No. 18

Rate this book
The world's premier publisher of Asian forms in English, Eastern Structures picks up where Contemporary Ghazals left off, publishing English-language examples of the Middle Eastern form, but now in addition to Korean sijo and Japanese forms such as haiku and tanka - rendered exclusively in the 5-7-5 and 5-7-5-7-7 syllabic structures. Issue 18 features the ghazals of David Raphael Israel, Alison Stone, Liùsaidh (L J McDowall) and Eric Torgersen; the sijo of Michael Wilson and Rose Menyon Heflin; the haiku and senryu of David Shields, Priscilla Lignori, Marla Carew, Danielle Woerner, Steve Denehan, Foster Hurley and several others; the haibun of Muhammad Sallahudin Bin Abdul Rahim and David Raphael Israel; and an assessment of the late Raymond Roseliep's haiku and the changing times in which he published by Jim Wilson. Issue 18 of Eastern Structures is expected in late August of 2021, and submissions of traditionally structured Asian poetry and relevant non-fiction are welcome and encouraged.
