Rilettura. Anche se un volume unico ha una tematica molto pesante. Il bullismo. Come in "Life" (che devo ritrovare e concludere) la tematica del bullismo nella scuola giapponese è un tema molto pesante.
La scuola in giappone è sempre stata molto importante, rispetto a noi, perchè quella apre le porte per il futuro. Per l'università e poi avere un lavoro di prestigio.
Ma a volte non tutto è rose e fiori. Potresti vivere una vita felice fino all'università o potresti dover combattere ogni giorno per la sopravvivenza a scuola. Potresti avere degli amici fidati o vedere quelli che consideravi amici rivoltarsi contro di te.
Un manga davvero bello. 5☆ mi sembrano giuste. Uno dei migliori manga sotto il tag "Slice of Life".

Vitamin ist eines der ersten Mangas, die ich mir selbst gekauft habe. Die Story ist 2001 in Japan erschienen (2006 in DE) und dreht sich um einen Fall von Mobbing an einer japanischen Schule. Sie ist stellenweise nicht leicht zu lesen. Ich habe bei einigen Szenen arg geweint, obwohl ich die Geschichte Ende der 00er schon einige Male las und noch genau wusste, was passieren würde. Nachdem in der ersten Hälfte einige krasse Dinge passieren, findet die Protagonistin Hoffnung durch die Wiederentdeckung einer alten Leidenschaft und in ihrer Familie. Das Ende ist einfach stark! Trotz des harten Stoffs lassen mich die letzten Szenen mit einem guten Gefühl zurück. Für einen Einzelband und die damit einhergehende Seitenbegrenzung wurde das Thema wirklich toll aufgearbeitet. Die Zeichnungen von Keiko Suenobu waren ausdrucksstark und schön.

Vitamin is about severe school bullying and it doesn't pull any punches. Bullying in any form or degree is awful can leave its victim with life-long scars, some cases are severe enough to push victims to commit suicide. Sawako is not far from that; she leads a normal high school life with friends, a boyfriend and teachers who nag that she must perform better in school. Until one day everything changes and school becomes nothing short of hell for Sawako.

I've rarely come across a story that shows bullying to this degree. Given that the main character has ambitions of becoming a mangaka, I sometimes wonder whether Vitamin is a form of biography by Suenobu Keiko. I have never read any of her other works, but it seems they do all convey similar themes.

Sawako goes through various stages of hoping the bullying is just a bad dream, to anger toward her classmates and eventually to anger toward herself; her health deteriorates as her body physically rebels against going to school. The fact that none of her class or even schoolmates, nor any teachers, is another point of frustration and desperation for her, and unfortunately, it's another very real aspect of school bullying.

At the core of it is also her boyfriend; Sawako was never clear enough with what she did and didn't want, but the guy was plain and simple an ass who not only got her into the position of being a victim of bullying but who then also abandoned her and left her to it.

Another realistic and well-written aspect are Sawako's parents. What wonderful characters they are! Throughout most of the story, they are unaware of the situation, though they can see that whatever is grieving their daughter, she is not coping well. Her mother, worried about Sawako's future, tries to convince her to go to school and encourages her by reminding her of the universities she wanted to get into. This doesn't have the best effect on Sawako as she feels herself being pushed even more into a corner. Her father recognises this and allows her to stay at home until she figures things out. A lot of the second half of the story focuses on the relationship between mother and daughter, how both come to understand and appreciate one another. Both of them play a vital part in the final scenes, and this manga concludes with one of the strongest endings I've ever come across.

This is an absolutely great and well-paced manga. The art is fine, not quite the usual style I would appreciate, but there's nothing wrong with it either. While I think that this is a near faultless manga, I am not giving it a five-star rating simply because I wouldn't consider this an enjoyable manga. The quality is top-notch, but it's not the type of manga I would pick up if I'd want to read a fun manga.

This was the first very hitting manga I ever read. It’s about a girl that gets bullied in school in the worst way and it’s supposed to be similar to the story of the author herself. This was very heart hitting, it was brutal in its storytelling not leaving out anything. It deals with attempting suicide and being sexually harassed. It tells the story of a young woman finding a way to cope with what she had to go through, with a family on the verge of breaking apart, coming back together and has a very strong ending which I adored. This is still one of my favorite manga and I recommend it, however please be aware that this might have triggers for you.

Tudo começou com Vitamin, de um único volume, que li depois de alguns capítulos de Life. Até fiz uma pesquisa agora para saber se é uma autobiografia dela, esse mangá. É a impressão que dá, de que ao menos algumas partes sejam verdadeiras, já que tem um tom tão pessoal. Uma protagonista com o sonho de virar mangaka e tem suas obras rejeitadas é bonitinho. Mas colocar essa mocinha para fazer sexo oral com seu namorado e ser pega, e ser ridicularizada e sofrer as consequências disso, isso já não é aquele shoujo bonitinho que me falaram que era…

Vitamin me faz lembrar das vitimas de pornografia da vingança, algo que não era tão comum assim na época do lançamento, ao menos no Brasil. O ser lembrada e julgada por todos ao seu redor pela sua sexualidade da pior forma possível. Em um mundo no qual uma mulher é valorizada por não parecer rodada, há poucas experiencias piores do que essa que uma adolescente pode passar. E sentimos a dor da consequência de tudo.

This manga might by my favourite of all! I've read it so often and I even convinced my mother - who wasn't very pleased with me reading manga - to read it and she liked it!
The way how Sawako is trying to find her goal in life and her place in society is very appealing to me. I especially adore the character of Sawakos mother and father.

The way how Sawako stands over all her clasemates in the end and her mother cheering for her at the graduation ceremony were one of the most touching things I've ever read.

O tema do bullying já foi abordado de diversas maneiras diferentes por autores diferentes. Sempre é um tema de impacto, dependendo da maneira como o autor explora o tema e como ele direciona o desenvolvimento da história. Keiko Suenobu dirige a temática para a história de uma menina que precisa enfrentar situações bem complicadas. Através do seu problema com o bullying ela vai percebendo outros problemas de sua personalidade.

O roteiro é bem fechadinho. Temos aqui uma história em volume fechado com uma clara delimitação entre início, meio e fim. A autora amarra todas as pontas soltas apesar de eu achar que ela poderia ter explorado melhor as descobertas que a Sawako faz sobre si mesma. Os problemas da personagem com o bullying são bem trabalhados e o leitor vai acompanhando a escalada dos acontecimentos. O roteiro da autora é bem verossímil e realista. Alguns alegam que determinadas situações são fortes e não condizentes, pois eu digo o contrário: a autora até pegou leve. Achei o encerramento da história bastante satisfatório; não chega a ser um final ideal, mas é um final adequado para a personagem. No fundo a história acaba passando uma mensagem bem positiva, sem qualquer lição ou moralismo barato.

Entretanto, eu não gostei do traço da autora. Mesmo para um shoujo, o traço dela é esticado e estereotipado demais. Alguns momentos passa até uma ideia de que não houve uma arte-final, principalmente no segundo capítulo. O que eu gostei muito é como a Suenobu trabalha com a expressividade ou a falta dela na história. Sawako é muito expressiva; ela não esconde os seus sentimentos. Já na escola vemos como a autora trata os colegas da protagonista como se fosse um coletivo: sem expressão, sussurrando pelos corredores, olhando por sobre o ombro. Esse efeito de "manada" ficou sensacional e revela como o ambiente da escola pode ser opressivo. No segundo capítulo, os cenários chegam a ser claustrofóbicos. Até mesmo o quarto bagunçado da Sawako passa essa impressão. Temos algumas cenas de sexo (poucas e não tão explícitas), portanto, fica de alerta para aqueles que não curtem esse tipo de cena.

A autora trata do tema de uma forma bastante madura. Em alguns momentos passa a impressão de que ela teria vivido aquilo (no pós-créditos ela não comenta a respeito). Como a narrativa é muito focada na Sawako, a gente tem uma história bastante intimista em como uma personagem que antes era popular e cercada de amigas, subitamente se vê sozinha e sendo atacada por todos os lados. O bullying é angustiante e a gente fica pensando o tempo todo que vai aparecer alguém para ajudar a personagem. Ficamos esperando isso acontecer (se vai ou não, aí já é spoiler e eu não vou contar). Esse é o aspecto vira páginas da narrativa. A gente quer que tudo se resolva da melhor maneira possível porque Sawako vai entrando em uma espiral de depressão que chega a momentos bem críticos. E isso é revelador de o quanto o bullying pode acabar com a vida social de uma adolescente e causar mudanças graves na cabeça deles. E olhe que se tratou apenas de um rumor.

Vemos todos os lados do bullying escolar: o rapaz que finge que nada fez, os colegas que atacam de uma hora para outra, o professor que não compreende a situação e tenta minimizar. Quem já passou por uma situação semelhante ou em menor grau sabe do que estou falando. Muitas vezes aquele que sofre com o bullying precisa resolver ele mesmo a situação, isso quando consegue. Normalmente os mais afetados por este problema são os mais frágeis. Aqueles que vivem em uma redoma de vidro e não conhecem como o mundo pode ser um lugar selvagem. Não há exageros aqui; como disse acima, já vi casos piores tanto no aspecto físico como no psicológico. Crianças e adolescentes podem ser bem maldosos quando assim desejam. Muitos de nós temos a falsa impressão de uma inocência infantil que nem sempre é verdadeira. O universo escolar é um universo à parte onde existem os populares e os desfavorecidos. Alguém pode sair de um status para o outro da noite para o dia, sem mais nem menos.

Gostei também de como a autora trabalhou o sistema familiar da Sawako. Apesar de ser um ambiente fortemente influenciado pela cultura japonesa, nós temos exemplos de famílias no Brasil onde essa situação se repete. É o caso do filho ou da filha seguindo as tradições ou o "emprego" da família. Uma criança impressionável ou carente pode ter o mesmo tipo de desejo que a Sawako: apenas um sorriso ou um voto de aceitação. Lutar contra a maré, expor aquilo que realmente se deseja não é uma atitude comum e exige muita força de vontade. Podemos ver na história o quanto a Sawako precisou sofrer para conseguir pôr para fora aquilo que ela realmente sentia. E pudemos acompanhar o quanto a mãe não era capaz de compreender o real desejo de sua filha. Muitas vezes o que achamos que irá fazer bem é apenas uma prisão. Claro que não podemos liberar geral e permitir tudo, mas perceber quais são as vontades e o quanto podemos contribuir para que um sonho possa se realizar. Há de se ter cuidado para não projetarmos os nossos desejos em nossos filhos.

Vitamin é uma história emocionante sobre uma situação muito real que acontece diariamente em muitas escolas de várias partes do mundo. Com uma narrativa bastante emotiva e uma personagem fascinante, só me incomodou o traço da autora que não me agradou muito. Mas, as discussões feitas na história são bastante pertinentes e merecem um debate mais amplo.

Quando comecei Vitamin, eu já sabia que este mangá seria forte. Não só pelos avisos da Lytta Miranda ao me presentear com o ele, mas também pela sinopse que ele trás - do bullying à misoginia. Então, era suposto que eu estivesse preparado para a leitura né? Errado. Muito, muito errado.

Mesmo tendo sido lançado no início dos anos 2000, mesmo tendo toda a cultura educacional rígida do Japão, esta é uma história extremamente atual e palatável. As questões trazidas por #keikosuenobu são pertinentes e conversam com a gente, desde o despreparo de uma instituição no combate ao bully, como também na forma como as famílias encaram o problema e passando até mesmo sobre relacionamento tóxicos.

No último ponto, foi interessante ver como a autora tratou do assunto não apenas pela perspectiva de um namorado abusivo, como também sobre a ótica de AMIZADES abusivas. São estas duas linhas que trazem as cenas mais fortes e chocantes do mangá - incluindo uma cena bem gráfica de abuso sexual, que é o grande estopim para a trama.

Ainda assim, mesmo com toda a pesada carga dramática que o mangá traz, o crescimento de Sawako ao longo da narrativa é inspirador e empoderador. Ela passa por depressão, uma forte repressão pelo medo de voltar para a escola - além de todas as outras questões já citadas - mas encontra o seu caminho. Poder acompanhar a queda e a ascensão da personagem foi algo que significou muito para mim esta semana - e fico imensamente feliz pela oportunidade de ter lido o mangá.

Je viens tout juste de terminer ma lecture, et j'en suis encore sous le choc! Je crois que de ma vie, je n'ai jamais lu un manga à la fois si terrible et si beau! J'ai pleuré lorsque j'ai tourné la dernière page, sous le coup de toutes les émotions que cette histoire m'a procurées.
Vitamine est un manga qui explore de plein fouet les thèmes du harcèlement et de l’absentéisme scolaires. Mais on peut aussi y retrouver en filigranes les thèmes du viol, des troubles alimentaires, des traumatismes et des pensées suicidaires. C'est donc une lecture très difficile. Mais Keiko Suenobu a aussi écrit un livre sur l'espoir et les rêves, sur la chute et la relève, sur l'art qui sauve (littéralement) la vie! C'est donc aussi une lecture sublime.
Je crois n'avoir également jamais lu une histoire traitant du fait que, parfois, fuir est la meilleure solution. La fuite est parfois la seule manière de survivre, et je remercie l'autrice d'avoir abordé ce thème (tabou?).

Yazarın Limit adlı kitabın hiç hoşlanmadığım için bu kitabından pek ümitli değildim. Beni yanılttığı için memnunum. Yine de çok daha güzel olabilecek bir hikayeymiş diye düşündürmedi değil. Lisede sistematik zorbalığa maruz kalan bir genç kızın psikolojisinin bozulmasını, okula gidememesini görüyoruz. Evde annesinin de kendisine destek olmak yerine kızına birtakım şeyleri dayatması çok güzel anlatılıyor. Abartısız ve etkili bir anlatım var bu kısımda.

Bu kadar güzel ve ayakları yere basan bir hikaye sonlara doğru biraz gerçeklikle bağını koparıyor gibi geldi. Yeşilçam filmi gibiydi yer yer. O kısımlar biraz hikayenin ahengini bozuyor bence. Hastane önündeki küçük kız, sınıftaki defterler, mezuniyet töreni aklıma gelen bu uyumsuz kısımlar. Yapılmak isteneni anlamakla birlikte daha farklı biçimlerde aktarılabilirmiş bence.

Well, i must say i am glad this is not a story which was inspired by the mangaka's real life (she stated that in the mangas afterword.) because what this manga's protogonist went through was really horrible, but i am glad that it all ended in a way which will give hope to the kids who went through similar stuations when they read this manga. I have a feeling there are many kids who went through similar stuations in Japan.

The Manga was about bullying... What baffled me was the reason of bulliying. All of her class mates bullied the poor girl because one of them cought her kissing a boy. I mean this is no reason to bully anyone around here in my country... I couldn't help but think those japanese school kids were opresed sadistic maniac nazi materials. Especially because of the reason the poor girl was bullied. I was glad i didn't born in Japan while i was reading the manga.

i've been wanting to read this manga for the entire year and i finally did it. this manga is filled with triggering content like bullying, eating disorder and rape, but it's all to show what sawako has to face in her day-to-day life at school after a rumor of her spread around her class (honestly when the first thing presented to the reader was one of the girls saying "always happy to help when there's something to laugh about" i was already throwing red flags \\everywhere//). i think this was a great story that needed to be told and i would definitely recommend to someone if they were looking for something like this to read.

Recuerdo que encontre el dibujo con una pequeña descripción en Tumblr, hace un par de años que me aventure para al fin dar con el nombre del manga y lo encontre ✨ Solo fueron 3 capítulos y me hizo sentir tantas cosas, primero cólera, frustasión, ganas de meterme a la historia y p*t3arlos a los pnj de sus compañeros y el novio (que ese es otro 🔥), luego ver el desarrollo en el 2do cap, y por ultimo gritar ¡ESO MAMONA! en el final, literal, la aplaudi mientras estaba en mi cama 😅. Si pueden leanselo, 100% recomendado 💖

Zorbalık yazması da okuması da ağır bir konu ancak bunu okuyucuya geçirebilmek kolay değil gibi geliyor bana. Fazla duygu sömürüsü ya da abartı durumlarda artık komik hale gelebiliyor, günümüz gençlik dizi ve filmlerinde bunun sıklıkla olduğunu düşünüyorum. Ama vitamin bu açıdan takdirimi kazandı, çok da farklı bir hikaye yok ancak gerçekten içine çekildim ve hissettim hikayeyi. Çizimlerini de iyi buldum. Karakterin de ailesinin de değişimlerini beğendim. Bu değişim biraz fazla hızlı olsa da tek ciltlik bir mangada bu kadar verilmesi bence kabul edilebilir, en azından umutlu bir sonu olmasını sevdim.

Una historia muy dura que refleja con gran exactitud la realidad de muchos entornos escolares/en los que se mueven los jóvenes aún hoy en día. Siempre que leo historias de este tipo me sorprende lo poco implicados que están los profesores en lo que ocurre en sus propias aulas, siempre haciendo la vista gorda e ignorando los problemas. Que suerte tuvo nuestra protagonista de poder dar con la fuerza necesaria para no hundirse y que poca suerte habrán tenido tantas otras chicas en esta misma situación que han caído en un pozo enorme de ostracismo.

quite raw most of the time, got me pretty worked up."success = best revenge" doesn't really do it for me and the ending with her relationship with her mother being repaired kind of put me off (but that's my baggage!) - but still i was quite moved. i didn't expect anything this intense to be labeled as shoujo. maybe there's some good, serious shonen out there, too... just kidding.
i guess i should read more shoujo. i dont read manga all that often and this one confirmed my theory that i really should.

Bref, « Vitamine » est un très bon one-shot. Les dessins sont un peu vieillots mais l’histoire est percutante et intense. J’ai été bouleversée par le harcèlement et la violence dont est victime Sawako. C’est un personnage touchant, qui se bat dans l’adversité et qui arrive à retrouver l’espoir alors que rien ne va dans son sens. J’ai eu du mal à ne pas verser ma petite larme à la fin.
Vitamine est un condensé du mangas Life et peut vous permettre de savoir si le style de l’auteur et le thème peuvent vous plaire avant de vous lancer, ou non, dans la lecture de cette dernière. Pour ma part c’est un coup de cœur, ça faisait longtemps qu’un mangas ne m’avait pas autant ému en si peu de pages.

Una vez más, Suenobu enseña de una forma visceral y sincera el problema del acoso escolar. Desde diferentes puntos de vista de los diferentes personajes, nos enseña la espiral en la que entra la protagonista y su superación.

When I bought it all I knew about this is that it was a story about bullying, and I haven't had time to read it untill now. The main character is in middle school. There are explicit rape scenes. Right from the beginning. I just... I couldn't. Be aware if you decide to read it.
