"I’ve been making up stories since the day I was born. I always loved to draw as well as write and as a child I drew graphic novellas featuring penniless but plucky Cinderella heroines. My love of daydreaming earned me the nickname “Dozy Duck” in Kindergarten, and I still consider staring into space to be a constructive activity.
I was born in Manhattan but my family moved to London when I was six months old, toting me along in a cat basket. I grew up as a Brit and traveled extensively in Europe during my only-slightly-misspent formative years.
I came back to the States to earn a bachelor’s degree in Semiotics from Brown University and begin a journey into the world of trans-Atlantic accents that I have still not fully emerged from. On graduation I returned to New York, where I learned to explain Semiotics on job interviews (“It’s the study of signs and systems of meaning!”) and to apply my knowledge in a very enjoyable career at a television museum.
While organizing exhibits on subjects ranging from Elvis Presley to Monty Python, I began to experiment with writing my own stories. It was quite a revelation to discover that the tales I’d been dreaming up forever could actually be turned into books. After a couple of detours--my son and my daughter--I focused all my creative energy on writing and my first book came out from Silhouette Desire in 2007.
I live in South Florida with my family, which includes an adorable greyhound and four horses.
This was a decent read,Vasco-Stella meet when Vasco comes to know Stella is the mother of his son,Vasco being a prince of Montmajor and their son id heir to Montmajor so he comes to claim his heir, from there starts their journey to find their love and deal with the issues which is standing in between their happiness
Liked how Vasco-Stella always kept their son's happiness first and scenes with Nicky were really good to read, specially liked the scene from the first pages when Vasco comes to meet first time and Nicky crawls in and says first perfect word"HI"and also lifts his hand and catches Vasco's finger as in handshake
Stella goes to Montmajor with Vasco there they sleep together she starts to fall in love with him but Vasco does'nt discuss any future or where is the relation heading,Stella's wake up call was the article in the magazine which makes her question so many things and most scared she is of this question whether she is royal mistress
then she comes to know Vasco's thoughts on marriage and that he will never marry, the reason for this decision is his parents marriage how they despised each other and Vasco has seen it so he never intends to marry just enjoy his freedom,he will keep Stella as his lover and keep her happy enough
Stella realises and accepts her feelings and Vasco is in love but in denial but finally he realises he loves her and we have the HEA
This guy irritates the hell out of me. I would have put up more of a resistance. I mean sure I would eventually fall for him but make him work like hell for me.
Okay, the hero is a king who was thrown out his country virtually penniless, by his parents no less, when he was 18, and to survive he sold his sperm to a sperm bank in california. fast forward over 10 years, and now he's found out there is issue resulting from his "donation." slightly more plausible is the heroine who, at 30, decides she's tired of waiting for mr right and gets pregnant the not-so-old-fashioned way. she restores ancient books and manuscripts, which the king has a ton of in his country, and off they go. the only catch is, after they start sleeping together, she knows he doesn't want to get married, and since her previous S.O. was around 8 years without marriage, she didn't want to go through that again. thy dohave their HEA however
This is a typical "Desire" book from Harlequin, but I found myself engaged by the main characters: Vasco Montoya and Stella Greco. The ending is a bit rushed, which again is typical of Harlequin because of the word count for its authors.d
