The object of this book is the exposition of the spiritual teaching of St. Therese, known as the Little Way of Spiritual Childhood. It contains the very essence of St. Theres’s teaching expressed in the simplest manner possible, and is therefore excellent material either for our own meditation or for teaching the Little Way to others. This book will be found to be a useful summary of the main lines of St. Therese’s teaching. It expounds them simply and shows how they must be at the basis of every truly spiritual life.

Monsignor Louis Liagre war ein französischer römisch-katholischer Geistlicher und Bischof von La Rochelle.

Er empfing am 5. Juni 1909 die Priesterweihe. Am 7. März 1938 wurde er zum Bischof von La Rochelle ernannt. Die Bischofsweihe spendete ihm am 4. Mai 1938 der Bischof von Lille, Achille Kardinal Liénart; Mitkonsekratoren waren der Erzbischof von Bordeaux, Maurice Feltin, und der Bischof von Arras, Henri-Edouard Dutoit.

Bias for anything written by a Spiritan Father (Congregation of the Holy Spirit), and Pere R. P. Liagre, CSSp is one such priest. Twelve chapters, easy to read. Ang perfect leading up to the Feast of St Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower. I have also been reading the life of Blessed Daniel Brottier, CSSp, and his works with the orphans of Auteuil. He erected a chapel at the school for St Therese before she had even been canonized. Both of my Grandmothers taught me about St Therese & the Holy Rosary.

An outstanding overview of the spiritual life of Saint Therese and the Little Way which she proposes for all men to sanctity. I highly recommend it as a concise summary of her theology and it gets to the core of why she is regarded as a Doctor of the Church.
