About the author

I first discovered stories hiding amongst the shelves of my local library. With not much to do in the small Iowa town where I grew up, I could often be found here with my nose stuck in a book. Enchanted by the wonderful worlds created by the written word, it was only a matter of time before I started creating my own stories.
After numerous writing classes in high school and college, I had always hoped to be a published author ‘someday.’ By the time I reached my late twenties I finally realized that I was the only one who could make ‘someday’ a reality, so I started writing...
I find writing the most exciting when the ideas come so fast, the words just fly from my fingertips. I enjoy the adventure of writing something new and the freedom of imagination that comes with writing in different genres—from a silly children’s story to a chilling tale for young adults.
Never able to be far from books, I have worked in seven different libraries. I also extend my creativity by performing as a children’s entertainer and owning a balloon business with my hilarious husband and our two canine children, Cuddles and Princess.
