Kansas City: Then & Now

Rate this book
Experience a Kansas City of long ago but not so far away in this new paperback edition of a local bestseller. Through these historic images - paired with photographs of the same scenes today - you'll see how a town became a metropolis. More than 110 photographs dating as far back as 1860s show fascinating scenes from the past. Each scene was then rephotographed in 2000.

It was a good book, if not a little depressing. Seems a little dated now, since most of the "today" is from 2000. And Kansas City seems to have lost so much of its character. I'll find out when I go there fora week, which is why I read the book. Just a shame that so many great old buildings are now parking lots or 70's trash architecture.

Interesting book comparing Kansas city in old photos to present day and far more boring situation.
