Welcome to Los Angeles. They call it the City of Angels. They got it half right. In a town where demons masquerade as children in order to protect humanity, while angels gain power by destroying the souls of the dearly departed. Good and evil is determined by whoever has the better P.R. firm.

Humans remain blissfully unaware that a struggle is taking place, unless they make the mistake of inviting one of these creatures into their homes—or they happen to be one of their offspring.

Meet Alexa Dawn, the Ghost Hunter.

She doesn’t try to coax, whisper, or talk to the dearly departed. She’s not there to help them crossover. She’s there for one reason, and one reason only, to make sure the dead—stay dead.

Alexa Dawn has spent her entire adult life chasing the shade that killed her parents, leaving a trail of dead spirits in her wake. When her latest house cleansing goes terribly awry, she finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. Suddenly her clients start dying at an alarming rate. It doesn’t take a detective to figure out that she’s next, unless Alexa can find a way to stop the creature that wants her dead.

Solomon's seals starts with a glimpse in to the day of the life of Alexa Dawn and her personal vendetta which makes her determined to eradicate ghosts. The series of macabre murders are chilling and I don't recommend reading the book at night which I did, but then again I'm a complete lightweight when it comes to all things horror.
I found the story dark, gory and surprisingly intense - I was expecting something a lot more fluffy from reading the blurb. The ending was predictable compared to the potential of the rest of the book and somewhat of a let down for me, otherwise I would of given Solomon's Seals 5 stars. But despite the minor flaws it was enjoyable and well worth giving it a go.

THE GHOST HUNTER CHRONICLES: SOLOMON’S SEALS follows the ghost dispersing Alexa Dawn, who uses everything from Diva music to EMP blasts to rid houses of unwanted guests – and she gets off on it to the point of addiction. When a demonic presence begins gruesomely murdering her prior clients, she teams with Adam Grayson, her new neighbor and Paranormal Investigative Task Force officer in love and danger on the track of the entity responsible. As the case spirals out of control, Alexa begins questioning her own sanity when she realizes the murders are tied to her on more than one plain of reality. SOLOMON’S SEALS is a fresh and enjoyable look at Ghost-busting.
