Iris Par Ci, Iris Par Là

Rate this book

A really sweet story by an author that I love. I read (and loved!) all of Lucy Frank's books as a teen and they're still really good as a reread.

It was my favorite book when I was 11 years old. Reread it and remembered what I liked about it. Still fun and I love the personnality of Iris.

Booktalk draft: Twelve-year-old Iris needs to buy a bra. Seriously. Ever since Daisy in apartment 4A said "Tell your mother to buy you a brassiere." But Iris' mother won't let Iris out of the apartment building alone without her or her older brother Freddy. Iris is stuck at home with her mom's to-do lists: Clean mirrors, vacuum kitchen, practice typing. Sighh. But then life gets a lot more interesting when Iris crawls out on the fire escape looking for a big orange cat. SHe meets her neighbors: the tattooed man, Daisy and her grandkids, Yolanda and her swearing parrot, Will in the wheelchair and the Cat Lady. Iris even decides to start her own business running errands for her busy neighbors.

This book is about a lady name Mami and she found a rat in her bed. Iris and freddy got up to see whats going on. Mami was so scared she climbed the chair. Now everybody thats in the house is trying to help find it they are looking everywhere for the rat. In the middle of the story they went to the store and bought some mouse traps and put peanut butter on it and set them everywhere around the house.Later in the story Iris met this boy and now she is asking her mom for a bra and her ma told her not right now cause she need to go to work. Iris was scared if she should tell her mom about the boys

When I was about 10 years old my mom started buying me books, I'm not sure why, but this was the first one I picked up myself; she took me to the bookstore and asked me to pick one. Honestly I just did because it included a lip gloss, but I ended up really liking the book.
